Hey everyone, just wanted to share an idea that could add more variety to the game interconnected missions where different roles work together.

Right now, airliner jobs are a solid way to earn money, but after a while, they can feel a bit repetitive. Other jobs exist, but they’re mostly solo experiences. A system where player actions (or in-game events) trigger situations that affect the world could make things more dynamic.

If the devs could implement something like this, it might be the first flight and maritime game with such a system (CMIIW). It could bring more variety to gameplay without forcing anyone into specific roles.

Just an idea, curious to hear what others think!
System example below:

Scene 1: Wildfire Emergency & Aerial Firefighting

  • Trigger: A lack of surveillance in a forest or island region allows a wildfire to spread unchecked.
  • Consequence: Thick black smoke fills the sky, reducing visibility for passing aircraft and disrupting air traffic.
  • Response: Players deploy firefighting helicopters for precision water drops and cargo planes to release fire retardant over the flames. (Requires 10-20 successful drops to contain the fire, encouraging teamwork.)
  • Resolution: As the fire is brought under control, the smoke gradually clears, restoring safe skies for normal flight operations.

Scene 2: Storm Disaster & Emergency Supply Drop

  • Trigger: A weather hunter plane fails to track an incoming storm near the airport.
  • Consequence: The storm causes widespread disruption—runway systems fail, ILS goes offline, runway lights shut down (we have night vision), and the airport loses power. Critical medical aid is needed on the island.
  • Response: Players mobilize cargo planes for emergency supply drops, deploy rescue helicopters to evacuate patients, and assist in restoring airport operations. High-Speed Medical Transport (Jet Medevac). Requires 5-10 successful rescues, 5-10 jet medevac and 20 supply drops to stabilize the area.
  • Resolution: Power is restored, runway lights flicker back on, and airport systems become fully operational, allowing flights to resume safely.

Scene 3: Oil Rig Crisis & Environmental Cleanup

  • Trigger: An oil rig runs out of critical supplies, and no missions have been completed in the area for 5 days.
  • Consequence: Equipment failure leads to an oil spill, contaminating surrounding waters and endangering marine life.
  • Response: Players deploy specialized cleanup ships to contain the spill, use helicopters for aerial assessment, and coordinate cargo seaplanes for emergency supply drops to restore rig operations. (Mission requires 5-10 cleanup targets near the oil rig and 5-10 successful supply drops.)
  • Resolution: The oil spill is contained, marine life is protected, and the oil rig resumes normal operations, preventing further environmental damage.

Scene 4: Piracy Disruption & Automatic Trade Recovery

  • Trigger: A lack of aerial surveillance in a specific region allows pirate activity to rise undetected.
  • Consequence: Cargo ships in the affected area come to a halt, with pirate boats nearby, disrupting trade. The pirates do not engage with aircraft or helicopters. (If Dev don’t want player cargo ships stopped, bot cargo ships can be used instead.)
  • Response: Players can deploy jets or helicopters for targeted airstrikes on pirate boats or use a Hercules plane to drop troops via parachute to reclaim the area. This isn’t a PVE mission, as pirates don’t attack—they only occupy the region. The mission requires 3-8 successful airstrike hits and lasts 45 minutes before the pirates disappear. This is a special mission.
  • Resolution: Once the pirate boats are neutralized, all affected cargo ships automatically resume normal operations, even if their players are AFK, ensuring a seamless return to trade routes.

Scene 5: Volcano Eruption & Ash Cloud Dispersal

  • Trigger: A volcanic eruption releases thick ash clouds into the atmosphere, grounding flights in the region. (the trigger isn't player)
  • Consequence: Visibility drops, aircraft engines are at risk, and surrounding areas suffer from falling ash.
  • Response: Players deploy high-speed jets to release shockwave bombs or chemical dispersants to break apart the ash cloud. Cargo planes deliver protective gear and supplies to affected regions.
  • Resolution: The sky clears, flights resume, and emergency services can reach affected areas.

Scene 6: Mountain Air Rescue – Jet-Assisted Storm Evacuation

  • Trigger: A sudden blizzard engulfs a mountain region, leaving hikers and climbers stranded.
  • Consequence: Rescue helicopters struggle to navigate as the map does not display accurate rescue points or distance markers due to extreme weather conditions.
  • Response: Players deploy high-speed weather monitoring jets to scan the area and update the rescue map, revealing precise survivor locations for helicopters. Once the mission is completed, supply planes airdrop essential gear near the mountain to sustain stranded individuals. (Mission Requirement: 2 jet patrols, 5-10 different helicopter location rescues, 5-10 supply drops.)
  • Resolution: With accurate data, helicopters can see target in map evacuate survivors, while cargo planes deliver food and medical supplies to mountain shelters, ensuring the region is stabilized.

  • How to Get the Job Missions?
    Missions can be picked up near from mission boards located at airports, ports, or heli bases.

  • How Many Players Can Join a Job?
    Each mission has a player limit (e.g., 10 supply drops allow 10 players to participate).
    Players from different servers cannot communicate, but their actions still impact the shared world.
    If a player struggles, others can step in to help (e.g., jets do recon, helicopters handle rescues).

  • What Happens If No One Completes It?
    If a mission is ignored, Each scene has a time limit (45 minutes to 2 hours) before it expires. Players lose the opportunity for rewards if the mission is not completed.

Benefits of Interconnected Missions in Multiplayer

  1. More Engaging Gameplay – Avoids repetitive tasks with dynamic team-based events and bonding community. (edited# sorry its bonding not bounding)
  2. Encourages Teamwork – Different roles (airliners, cargo, helicopters, jets, boats) work together.
  3. Adds Variety Without Forcing Roles – Players can do their main job or join connected missions.
  4. Creates a Living World – Events change based on player actions, making gameplay immersive.
  5. Expands Endgame Content – Gives experienced players new challenges beyond just grinding.
  6. Unique Feature – If added, this could be the first flight & maritime game with this system. (CMIIW)

i know this sounds alien to a few people, but just because aero has a large grind/economy system doesn't mean people can't enjoy :

  • the act of flying
  • jobs
  • scenery
  • tiny game mechanics which are suboptimal but feel nice to go through
