Shrugbot Seaplane Suggestion #88
Flying Boat
The Rohrbach Ro X Romar was a flying boat constructed in 1928
Primarily being built for the then-emerging field of passenger transportation, the Ro X was was a very large aircraft for its time. It featured spacious passenger cabins, which could accommodate a dozen of passengers in relative confort. In order to support the sheer weight of the plane, a large, strongly reinforced monoplane wing needed to be implemented in the design, with 3 BMW V12-Driven pusher propellers mounted in the center to haul the behemoth into the air.
Ultimately, 4 aircraft were built - with 3 serving with Deutsche Luft Hansa, and the other one being supplied to the French navy.
