#UI Adjustments

The amount of ui suggestions makes me want to think, why not just.. drag n drop?
May be to a grid, or even free
Or mix
A grid style would be nice.
Just Tetris the UI around to your liking
Yeah. I just figured the fuel UI is a bit wide for the data it provides.
I'd agree with that tbh, skinnier one would make it better
We can't really find the difference on 75% fuel and a 65% one if wide, taller one would do so

honestly why not just make it so we can use the older one... cause its way better then this...
Can’t
They have separate code base
It’s not that simple according to Hyperant

great... great so they made it much harder to read for someone who needs easy visuals
factual
I like the new features of this one but why not bring back the old UI incorporating those new features
I do find the stripes distracting, and I want that one feature to hide it like how u hide the chat
I do team demo's and formation flying... and this makes it so distracting

We can't really use alt since that hides the whole ui, we need to see those numbers
The compass, the direction of a/c
I would propose putting current altitude in a small bar at the top of the screen next to the flight minutes and flight distance
just a simple indicator
So that you can fly with the thing on the left shut off
I don't like flicking my eyes from the top to the left of my screen constantly while landing
This would be a separate indicator
In addition to the existing one
so that if you choose to make the panel on the left invisible you can still see altitude
Altitude doesnt really help much of anything other than watching out for ceiling, and some rp
i just hate the box's and stuff.. if it was just numbers without the fancy dials and all.. id be chillin with it
Oh I've made a suggestion similar to what you've described a few months back: https://discord.com/channels/820044095535185951/1318325163275849791
true but if adding an option to revert to the old UI is too hard, drag and drop is out of their league
devs words, not mine
would be awesome though
The thing with ui is that, they're hardcoded, but this doesn't, like, u can still change their positions
The difference here is one uses frames which is hardcoded, the other is just changing positions, which can even happen when changing screen resolution
The frames will have a script on them, but inside the script, I assume there are nothing mentioning about the position
Maybe for the throttle lever, the line on the speed and alt, but they're parented to their respective frames
i don't get what you mean by "harder to read"
anyone who doesn't know what the top speed, stall speed or max altitude of their aircraft is will be able to tell much easier than with the old one
you're just used to the old one
i've been using the new one for nearly 4 years and i say the new one is much better for ease of use....idk what's going on with you but that's just me
bro's used the new one for 4 years.. bro played it before it existed
ive basically been suggesting the 2nd option
i like that one
and imo would make the most of the space
No one was saying anything about the UI when it's in #dev-showcase but when it's released everyone start yappin about this new UI
(In suggestion channel)
yeah thats usually what happens with any update
well like most busy humans, we dont say anything until it affect us
couldnt have said it better myself
its not like we dropped the new ui without warning, we have been posting in that channel for months
but noone bothered to make any feedback
which is why i was annoyed enough to immediately shut down the suggestions asking for "old ui" toggles and all that jazz
absolutely grinds my gears i tell ya
i could see the reasoning behind people doing that but i completely get why you would get pissed off about it
although i did see people saying they dont like the changes, idk why they didnt bring it to the developers lol
well - i appreciate your response either way hyper. i wasn't advocating for anything drastically different - i.e. the OG ui
unfortunately, i dont always have the time to play aero or keep up with development announcements.
the current adjustments are a good improvement. so thank you. i only created the post to be helpful - whether it happened today or 2 years from now - or never
well - i know several people that didnt know that channel even existed. and plus, people get enough discord messages that they cant keep up with everything.
or, if they took a break from the game - they probably wont know either way.
thats what i don't get either
This is very true
Idk why they started to complain or feedback after it got release
imma say its either of these:
- the ones that complained are the usernames you rarely see around
- the ones that wanted to complain dont have the balls to bring it to a dev since the "No pinging staff members without a reason" is in efect & these people reserve that for only the biggest of problems, which doesnt include UI complaints like this from their perspective
idm the current UI (in fact i love some aspects of it, like landing gear indicators) but stuff like a horizontal fuel bar that drains vertically are one of those stuff that dont make sense
