i'd have no opinion in saying this but
i'd assume that scripting could possibly be a problem
sorry i miss the part where aeronautica is supposed to be realistic
why do we have to valculate air density now
and more importantly this will literally just ruin the game
why are you so offended

it fails on the second level

this is roblox, not microsoft flight sim, stop trying to make the game "realistic"

Honestly, there are a lot of mechanics in Aeronautica that are realistic, I think adding more realism to the game would make it more challenging but a lot more exciting in my opinion.
it wouldn't be possible unless roblox made their servers not 200 dollars Temu computers
adding more realism would make it lose the arcady feel of the game and ruin it for people that want to have a fun casual time
then make it a setting or play a different game

i would assume that how much altitude slows you down is exponetially related to service ceiling

im sure that fuel consumption being fast at sea level is detrimental to your gameplay too

just make speed altitude based too
Also plus, I bet you most of the community view Aeronautica more as a hybrid-flight simulator than an arcade-like game.
the problem with this is that airspeed does not change parallel to physical speed when altitude increases

we would then have to get into deciding whether to use airspeed or physical speed for the speedometer

i think it should be exponetial

the other thing is that this would have to be coded based on overall altitude, not based on the service ceiling of your plane like the range boost is calculated
so they would have to use 2 completely separate systems, which would probably be a coding nightmare

just dont fly fast at low alt

if this gets implimented they would also have to change how the altitude-based range boost is calculated (which would probably break meta)

because X15 would be able to fly cross map at 4000 kts

i never chain anything so i was never effected by the boat chain ban

not a horrible idea, just need to think about some of the things it would affect
my reasoning against this compared to the fuel consumption being higher is that the fuel being consumed faster incentivises you to fly high
blocking off your max speed would force you to fly high
if you want to fly to somewhere close, but quickly, you'd have to waste time climbing to a high altitude so you can go faster, and it cancels the timesave out 
most people who arent at the max alt are probably flying in airliners or just messing around and probably wouldnt need to go fast anyways
- PTS may be physically impossible in some aircraft
- All races will pay less due to aircraft being slowed down
- Everyone will burn fuel much faster
i dont think that it would be that extreme
i dont think that real fighter jets cant go mach at sea level
its just harder

if its only a slight difference theres really no point to impliment it 
as it will require its own unique system
to function
so if your plane goes from mach .99 to mach 1 it would slow down a bunch
- most supersonic non-sst aircraft are dogwater useless anyways.. this would just nerf them to the ground

this game calling itself a flight sim when a game like project flight also calls itself a flight sim is abysmal

the capacity being made up for game balance:
we dont even have flaps
It’s based on a variety of factors (except for bombers which is literally just the crew capacity) 
Compromises must be made to have such a great map

I just thought the rate of fuel consumption shouldn't be effected by anything, even high alt
its like that in real life so i thought we should keep it
I like this, i think it would be cool to have a more tangible reason in game for the better range at altitude
it's slightly weird that is how the game works when saving fuel, if Aero is aiming for realism

If they just made fuel endurance a set time value and instead had true airspeed change with density altitude that would be perfect

I don't think range would need to be changed so long as it's the same range at its most efficient alt, if they just keep it like that there shouldnt be an issue
when you're climbing to high alt, wouldn't it consume your fuel more?

If the game fixed how fuel burn works, and the planes work the same with 100% throttle at all time, fuel burn per hour would stay the same no matter what phase of flight

so its just gonna be the same where the highest a plane can go is the best it performs

I can go 2 times the estimated range limit when I am at ceiling limit
since range is estimated at sea level

which is a chart on range/endurance with factors such as throttle and alt
wind isnt calculated tho
