Ground Effect Vehicle

The Flyship FS-100 is a ground effect vehicle which is being developed by Flyship GmbH - a company who is more known for creating the successful Airfish 8 WIG.

The FS-100 is designed to travel 4 times faster than comparably sized boats without sacrificing range or capacity. It achieves this via patented “Hoverwing” technology: On takeoff, an air cushion is formed under the hull by diverting some of the propeller stream. This cushion supports the Flyship until it reaches takeoff speed, where the wings lift the craft completely out of the water.

While docking, the FS-100 acts like a boat, with an external water propulsion system kicking in to allow for easy docking. Additionally, a 10 meter section of the wings can fold up to allow for maneuverability in tighter spaces.
