My concept for this is similar to the one in KSP. Basically you can make timers with alarms set for a certain amount of time. Once they reach the specified end time they will make a sound.
I think this could be useful for long flights where you wanna do something else (but at times you can overshoot your airport doing that, so that's why)

of course but i think it's very nice to have the feature in the game itself
also maybe the alarm can activate not only by time but you can also make it activate when you're a certain distance from a waypoint/airport

if you look closely at the right side of your screen there is a feature that allows you to set a timer with an alarm in KSP. not to be mixed up with the time warp
