#make seaplanes not sink

that sir is sadly, as i am sure some people which will begin typing here shortly, considered a "skill issue"
skil-
jk
just try to land smoother
i recommend you to practice with a seaplane that has a high mounted engine
i failed in a beriev a-40, which has high mounted jets
they are relatively low compared to other seaplanes
a good examples would be hughes hercules, boeing 314, dornier do x,…
they are quite expensive
mbr
but they are easy to use

MBR is not beginner friendly

i know
you know what you can use
the icon A5
i have every licence in the game
and you still don't know how to use seaplanes

Definitely should be fixed
Especially if it’s a small plane like the float scout
For a glassy water landing you’re supposed to come in at -150fpm on the vsi
In game if you try to do glassy technique you plow through the surface despite a very slow descent rate and your engine dies
And also if you’re too slow you start skipping on the water which will probably kill your engine too so you have to come in way faster than you should
MBR is not friendly AT ALL
Lun Class Ekranoplan:
Ekranoplans are easy but MBR and sea dart are pain
sea dart is sorta easy
but MBR is fucking impossible without drowning the rear jets
Unless you do a long ass shallow landing
which basically makes it unviable
and if it was viable it would be more efficient than Hypermach for chaining
ekranoplans are hard to fly on long distances

its not easy to find a cruise altitude
Just keep it at 0.5 V/S and Itl reach it’s ceiling, float down a little, and then go back up
Ekranoplan constantly wants to kill you
thats what i do
Because of the incredibly low service ceiling
but 0.1-0.2 m/s VS
You can easily just stall and die
its not really hard if you know how to fly them
If you use 0.5 v/s it won’t exceed ceiling
i've ES'd mine
Really easy
Turning is harder but also relatively easy compared to landing the damn MBR
turning is easy
just use A/D
It’s not because it messes up your V/S
not that much
So you have to re-align it or you will either stall or sink
if you’re doing 90 degree turns you can plunge and die
😭
if youre at 0.1 m/s VS it doesnt really affect your VS
It’s pretty much a skill issue unfortunately
Aero’s planes don’t interact with water unless you are in the yellow area of speed
but seaplanes can rotate earlier than other aircraft
Which means you can keep it at the lowest throttle setting to maintain yellow speed, and then when you touch down, hold shift and decrease the throttle into the red
and Itl instantly float

the problem comes with planes like SD MBR
Doing this forces you to be at such a high angle of attack that the rear engines will always drown out
just fly at low throttle with a high AoA
nvm dont do that
pain
ekranoplans are actually really easy to fly lmao

indeed
Issu of skill indeed
not a skill issue on small planes, those shits just kill themselves on the regular
