#Detail kit posting channel

Mobile isn’t letting me change it
Considering UV announcements have their own channel now, this makes sense
More sense than the UV announcements tbf
@astral steppe
There we go
hmm sometimes i post addons kits, which are basically modified versions of existing detail kits
would i post my addons kits in this channel?
if this were to be implemented
I think the main issue is random people posting not detail kits
Or uhhhh
Subpar detail kits
Detail kits are detail kits, I mean if anyone can post a livery
I feel like they should be able to post detail kits if they want
Idk tho maybe it could be protected where only people with a certain role can post there
Ye
Since it counts as detailing

fr
if theyre subpar just dont use them

Interesting proposal, though I'm not convinced that this will be useful for these reasons:
- This won't solve the root issue of detail kits getting buried in #public-liveries, since other detail kits will just bury the ones posted earlier. You can simulate this by searching for "detail kit" in #public-liveries, then trying to find one for a specific plane like the 767-200ER
- There may be some confusion about where to post things (as Nuclear mentioned). Furthermore, what's stopping you from posting in both channels or continuing to post detail kits in #public-liveries? That would negate the entire point of this
- This is would be another channel people will inadvertently type random things in and get warned for
True, however, most of the times when you search “>insert aircraft name< detail kit” results for people crediting the kit pop up
Also
Much less detail kits are posted than liveries so
It wouldn’t get as buried
Essentially making the whole process like
Much quicker to find detail kits
And since the detail kit drive is quite outdated
This is a good alternative
@astral steppe ^
UV announcements also makes sense
i support this
tbh i would see this more as a fourm instead of a seperate channel…
Forum? More like, smelly forum!
But yeah I don’t think this would do well as a forum
No reason for it to be a forum, there's no reason to be chatting about or commenting on the posts when #livery-creation-and-discussion exists
Plus the whole posts vanishing thing the lad in orange above mentioned
Those are some fair points
I think for rn I'll probably keep things as is though; the cons above outweigh the few pros imo
especially as the amount of detail kits that are posted are fairly low, as you mention above
thanks for the suggestion though
