Many low-end PCs have an issue with FPS in the game, it's quite annoying to always have low FPS during large aircraft gatherings, especially in events where an entire server may be lined up on a SINGLE area, causing the game to be borderline unplayable, a great fix for this issue would be an option to turn player aircrafts off completely, a simple option on the menu besides the "disable player aircraft icons" on the map screen

if turning aircraft off completely is not an option, a great alternative would be to lower their model quality and disable a lot of features, such as:
Liveries;
Advanced customs;
Engine particles;
Landing/Take off ground particles;
Landing gear;
Lights (main source of lag);
Extra details (The 200 antennas on airliners);
Adv. Liveries;
Colors;
Contrails;
And some others

yes, i have tried.. if they solved the issue i wouldn't be making this suggestion 
they're great for reducing over-all lag when you're alone on some corner of the map like umibutsu
but the issue is during race events where there are literally 39 players stacked on top of each other, all with lights on, engines making smoke, trails enabled etc...
during the 4th of july, my fps was at around 20-ish (high estimate) before the race, however DURING the race, it was below 5, often completely frozen during the take-off sequence once every aircraft had afterburners on

if you know the route then seeing any opponents is more of a disturbance on your concentration than anything

I think having a button to disable extra features would be good though

yeah you either have to play at literally 5fps, or you can play at 45 except there aren't any players for you to see
