#Deck Lights for Ships

Hey just a quick note!
This is my first suggestion and I made sure that this wasn't in the trello. If so,
sorry bout that!

So, something I noticed with ships were that the lack of flood lights on the
deck made ships feel quite boring at night. From my time of using boats for leisure,
I could tell that without lights, I think ships feel dull at night. I know there are lights
on the bridge of the ship, however, that isn't enough - at least for me.

I hope to see ships with flood lights if possible, because that would definitely add on
to the experience. And also, I think that it should have a separate keybind of its own,
maybe the "Q" keybind.

The advantages of this would be that:

It would add more "spice" to the game 🟩
It would make night time sailing more bearable to look at 🟩
Would be ABSOLUTELY AMAZING to look at from a plane's point of view, as
I noticed this first hand when I saw many ships with lights at night, they just added on to 🟩
the beautiful scenery.
You get to enjoy how the ship looks more at night instead of just leaving to afk 🟩

HOWEVER there are also struggles, and those are:

It may cause excessive lag to the server πŸŸ₯
Light might be delayed because of floating point or whatever πŸŸ₯
Might also be difficult to script πŸŸ₯

Anyways, leaving this suggestion behind, have a nice day!

Spotlights have been used a few times and can get added to new/old ships at modelers' discretion

#

Try out the Sus-class and Healy-class, for example

Also Q key

What's wrong with Q

unreal oracle

I don't get it

random plaza
#

ok let me explain more clearly

#

You said that spotlights on some ships have the β€œQ” keybind already for spotlights, right?

We can make the deck lights into either T or Y to prevent that

unreal oracle
#

Ah I thought you meant spotlights as deck lights

#

Actually you did

#

To be clear spotlights and floodlights are the same in terms of functionality

#

We can use them to light up the water ahead, but also to light up the decks

random plaza
#

but i hope you get my point of like

#

making the ship deck brighter and not just dark and not fun to look at

unreal oracle
#

Yeah I understand
