Now that it seems we're getting a HSI as well as the ability to set waypoints, adding various approach fixes would make approaches much more realistic and, in my opinion, much more fun.
The specific placement of fixes would vary due to terrain and all that, but having an IAF about 15nm from the threshold, an IF at 10nm and a FAF at 5nm would make hitting altitudes and VS much easier by removing the guesswork. Knowing exactly where 5nm from the threshold is (vs the current distance display which shows 5nm from the terminal) would make both precision and non-precision approaches much more enjoyable to fly.
Making approach plates for every airport would be a huge pain, but at least having the waypoints on the map in calculated positions would make a big difference.
