#Increase Boat Income

I know its been suggested before, but I have reasoning for it.

Is sailing ships to grind WP quickly worth it?
It can largely depend on the effort you would put into other strategies, but if you want to sail ships, then to me, owning and sailing boats generally isnt worth it if you’re trying to grind lots of WP quickly. (Within a matter of days.)

I started playing Aeronautica (seriously) at the same time as my friend, and he has been making hundreds of thousands of WP (on week 1) through part auctioning.

I took a different route of playing to him, vying to stick to commercial airliners, and then move to boats so I could buy more.

And, where am I going with this?
My problem is, is that there’s no point of going afk for 15 hours to earn 350k WP if he can earn more in just 3 hours.
This is taking me away from wanting to sail ships, and likely this has the same effect on others too.

If boat income was increased, players would be more likely to use them as they would actually be useful.

So, how about leaving your PC at night and crate hunting in the day?
while some people can just have their pc on at night for ship grinding, some can’t too, making what they choose to spend time on making money important.
And, if ships are considerably less profitable, the only reason I can see people who are trying to make WP using them is that they cant be bothered to crate hunt.

But Hungry, isn’t this a good thing?
In some peoples eyes, and especially people defending keeping the income how it is, they may see this as a pro, allowing users multiple ways of making WP.
Which is indeed a good thing, though I believe it would be more fair on players who use ships, which includes myself, that income were to be increased by a percentage, roughly 40-50% to not make ships massively better with income, but to a level which is slightly more competitive and will possibly be enough to make more people choose ships over crate hunting to gain WP.

#

TDLR:
Increase ship income by about 50% so its just a little more balanced with crate hunting.
(Which isnt a problem, choose whichever you prefer!)

yeah this is going to be a no i know

Boats aren't meant to compete with aircraft, they're their own thing

Uh no

#

Trust me

edgy plank
#

And designed exclusively an afk vehicle type, where maximizing earnings is irrelevant

celest socket
#

You DONT want to increase boat income

edgy plank
#

And if you are active, Etina here found out how to maximize ships via chaining

celest socket
#

Literally, 50% increase in boat income?

#

Glad to hear boats are working as intended great

celest socket
#

I would RELIABLY be able to get 500K a hour in boats, trust me, you DONT want that.

edgy plank
#

Yeah, either way boat earnings are good as is

#

You either set sail with an autoclicker while at school/work/sleeping and get a good payday, or chain for stonks

celest socket
#

Boat chaining requires planning, and much can go wrong, and this type of chaining is riddled with bugs

edgy plank
#

Even without chaining, max earnings is not the goal Dunno

#

They're made to be an afk vehicle type

#

72k an hour by doing nothing is quite a lot

celest socket
#

*if you arent an idiot that is

#

Because even boating requires some BASIC levels of competence, such as knowing to properly plan your route

Other grinding methods such as endgame aircraft and crate hunting are meant to be more rewarding because you actually need to invest some effort into it. Plus, as an aircraft-focused game we don't want to divert too much attention into a secondary feature.

Boating already can outearn all methods of wp earning but SST chaining, racing, PTS and crate hunting, though it requires days of setup.
But point remains, they SHOULNT be buffed, they already were last december when devs changed many things about boating.

edgy plank
#

Yeah, mid to high tier ships make airliners more or less irrelevant unless you like to chain (and if you do, SSTs are just better)

#

All of what I'm saying is by using ships by default as well, not the chaining stuff that Etina's up to

#

Up to 72k an hour by doing nothing but run an autoclicker while you aren't even awake or miles away from your pc is nothing to scoff at Dunno

boats should make more wp on shorter routes because those cant just be slept through

makes sense

thanks for replying

#

To my knowledge, there are plans for cruise like jobs

edgy plank
#

Quite a few boat jobs are planned that'd need a lil more involvement, hopefully making the lower end ships a lil more viable

I feel like some people might not understand what OP wants (or maybe just me), I dont think they want to increase earnings for all ships but for boats with smaller ranges to increase their popularity. Cuz no one is using the smaller boats except to look cool

edgy plank
#

Yeah, the low end ships are really only good for BP

celest socket
#

The ferries are a good idea overall

#

Just that they cost rather much

what’s a boat?

#

never heard of them before

#

is it the big floaty things i see everyday in aero?

torn knot
#

TLDR: just get a better boat lmao

#

the core design of ships is afk grinding

#

if we make AFK grinding better than active grinding, people will just not play the game

#

and use ships instead

paper tree
#

income should be increased for short trips as they cant really be afked
