Twitch has pushed an update that breaks the Stable & Nightly extensions.
Please install the new extension for now which doesn't have this issue

I probably had some weird cache, I removed both, restart then install the new one and it seems to work 🙂

yeah same thing on brave i refreshed and all of a sudden chatbox is gone , only the new version works

yup I lost my chatboxes after refreshing in the last hour unless I uninstalled 7tv

I just installed the one above and it doesn't seem to have broken it now

yes, and you should disable the old one after installing the new one, because it can break stuff if you have both enabled at the same time

yeah I've removed the old one - I didn't realise it needed replacing tbh I hadn't seen anything about a replacement version

I see the chat button has moved underneath for some reason?

actually that appears to be the change twitch have pushed out

now if you have too many icons on the left of the chat button, it gets moved up onto it's own row rather than cutting off the row of icons

probably cos their new drop icon is filling out people's icons

Can enable this through Twitch itself, Settings Cog under Chat -> Chat Appearance -> Enable Timestamp For New Messages

@haughty iron boss, would be really cool to see a deeper breakdown on why stable/nightly versions are broken cuz of twitch update
some of us are 7tv subscribers, extensions in browsers are mostly dangerous - we trust 7tv, but too much hacks happened recently

just saw highlighted 7tv icon on top of page today

new extension announcement in twitter was in april

looks like a strange coincidence that i just saw 7tv pushing new version right in the interface few hours before twitch pushed breaking changes

Twitch pushed an update, changing some things in the chat input area, changing the structure of that component.
Stable & Nightly hook into Twitch chat component, assuming that component has a specific structure which it doesn't anymore

Error happens because of that, the input area gets hidden/broken because of the error

It does not have a custom chatbox implementation, instead it just relies on the regular Twitch chat

For what it's worth I'm working on a fix for Stable/Nightly, and will submit it to Chrome/Firefox as soon as possible

Probably not, as those extensions are build around having a custom chat implementation for every feature

Waterfox and some other Firefox derivatives might not work right now as they're based on FF140 and the new extension is currently set to require FF142+, but I'll work on that

i tried the new extension because of the error but some emotes are blurred out like some kind of censoring, is there a way to disable this?
