Hello. Wave I am reaching out because I have been experiencing some bizarre issues on Twitch which seem to stem from the 7TV browser extension. Thank you all in advance for your time and attention for any support, guidance AND insight you can provide into this matter.

Hardware and software used:

  • Operating System: macOS Tahoe 26.3.1
  • Browsers where error is experienced: Brave; Firefox (attached screenshots are from Firefox but the same are seen in Brave).
  • Other browsers used for testing: Chrome; Opera; Opera GX; Microsoft Edge

The current issues I am experiencing:

  • When the 7TV browser extension is ENABLED-
  1. Channel points are NOT automatically claimed despite that functionality enabled (NOTE- even when I disable the auto claim function alone, I am unable to manually redeem channel points UNLESS the browser extension is disabled entirely).
  2. The viewer list does NOT display (instead- only a ghost icon appears in its place).
  3. The "Subscriptions" page does NOT display any information or details (instead- a ghost icon appears with the text "Unable to show your subscriptions at this time. Please try again later.").
  4. 7TV emotes do NOT display in chat.
  • When the 7TV browser extension is DISABLED then all basic Twitch functionality return.
  • UPDATE: I am NOW noticing that I can WILLFULLY RECREATE this problem by batch opening more than five to ten Twitch livestreams AT ONCE HUH ; the issue does NOT seem be triggered when I open each livestream one tab at a time.

Steps I took to remedy the situation AND their results:

  1. Used private browsing on Brave and Firefox: PROBLEM REMAINS sad
  2. Used different browsers 👉 Chrome; Opera; Opera GX; Microsoft Edge: PROBLEM IS SOLVED but I would like to avoid completely and permanently switching browsers if possible.
  3. Cleared browser cache: PROBLEM REMAINS sad
  4. Cleared browser cookies: PROBLEM REMAINS sad
  5. Cleared all site permissions for both Twitch and 7TV: PROBLEM REMAINS sad
  6. Restarted primary browsers (Brave and Firefox) after clearing cache and cookies: PROBLEM REMAINS sad
  7. Rebooted laptop after clearing cache and cookies: PROBLEM REMAINS sad
  8. Made sure I have the latest 7TV browser extension, browser version AND OS version: PROBLEM REMAINS sad

Additional notes:

  • This used to happen sporadically in the past but clearing site cookies, restarting the browser, uninstalling and then re-installing the 7TV browser extension AND some combination thereof would usually immediately remedy the problems experienced.

Any support or guidance regarding this would be GREATLY APPRECIATED. ty_thankyou I am happy to provide additional insight, proof AND screenshots if that would help narrow down the cause(s) of this particularly annoying issue. Thank you! 90413snoopyheart

Just commenting here as I often run into this issue on Windows/Chrome and the only fix is wiping cache (not cookies).

Also commenting to say when you are getting this bug where the following fails to work: notifications, sub, follow, report. It's all related to a browser bug rather than extension bug. (If you disable 7TV you will still get the issue)

For additional context on my part- in the past when this issue would occur sporadically, clearing cache AND/OR cookies Cookies would TEMPORARILY return Twitch and 7TV functionality back before the issue would again resurface after a few minutes (usually- when I attempt to open more than three livestream tabs).

However- now that I mention it out loud, this problem doesn't occur when I only have one or two livestreams open BUT the catalyst (at least for me) seems to be when I attempt to open even more tabs than that PepeThink

Since this seems to be unique to Brave and Firefox (at least for me); I was just playing around on some of the [other browsers](#1499270581428682762 message) that I mentioned earlier where I could NOT replicate this issue AND now I am noticing that when I try to BATCH OPEN more than five tabs AT THE SAME TIME I run into the same problem there as well (IE- viewer list does NOT display; notifications do NOT display; channel points are NOT automatically claimed ETC). peepoDetective
