#Cases aren't saved server side and are local cache?

This is totally not an april fools joke, unlocked cosmetics in cases are recorded on our local servers and as said in #news message - will be allowed for public use in 7 days.
So obscurity aside, is anything retained or? Because it's a cool idea/sentiment overall and having some sort of persistence after the April Fools aspect would have been kind of interesting. But it sounds like nothing is going to be kept?
Usually an April Fools joke doesn't full on imply things are kept, that's where some of the confusion lies
It's unfortunate because it's actually a decent system, and more effort than you typically see from an April Fools joke
everything happens locally in your browser, so not really
Granted it's easy to have assumed this would have been retained in a server-side database. SQLite or alike, would have been simple to do, that's why I assumed it was "legitimate" up until my friend cleared his cache when experiencing the FFZ issue
But
noted, I'll stop engaging with it now
I mean I don't have any inside info on this but this page doesn't send any network requests related to opening a case. I assume it would be too much effort for one-day april fools joke
