Describe the issue / feature

  • A fresh install of Chatterino 7.5.3 fails to fetch emotes due to RemoteHostClosedError

What I've done so far to solve the issue:

  • Flush DNS
  • Change the hosts file to add cdn.7tv.app

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Download the installer exe file on: https://github.com/SevenTV/chatterino7/releases/tag/v7.5.3
  2. Run the installer with fresh install opted.
  3. Join a channel

Expected Behavior

  • Emotes are fetched and visible in chat
#

I should also add that only 7tv channel emotes are not fetching, others like FFZ and BTTV are working fine Okayge

Weird. If you can, try to capture some logs from Chatterino and Qt with *http*=true and *network*=true. https://wiki.chatterino.com/Developer Logs/ has a guide on that - if you use my c2-logs (mentioned at the bottom), then you can do c2-logs '*http*=true' '*network*=true'.

aight will try that as soon as im free okayge

Hmm does this happen on the nightly release as well?

pallid fjord
#

yup looks like it

I honestly have no clue why this happens. I'd have to manually debug this with an actual debugger. Maybe it's the Qt version... I'll try to bump it on nightly

Ok I'm gonna go to bed and hopefully in about half an hour, the new chatterino7 nightly will be based on the latest and greatest Qt 6.9.1
