After the 2 hour downtime about 2 days ago 7tv keeps giving me "SSL Connection could not be established" errors on 3rd party programs that use 7tv emotes such as TwitchDownloader or VTube Studio. After asking around on reddit and github I was told that the issue might be related to 7tv not supporting TLS 1.2 anymore. This is currently causing issues and I am under pressure because I am unable to display, download or render chats that include 7tv emotes for content creation and Twitch VODs are expiring. I would like to ask you if you have more information about that or even a possible solution.
#SSL Connection Errors since 2 Days

I've given up on the 7TV CDN and just made a reverse proxy built into TwitchDownloader for all image downloads from 7TV.
Hopefully they revert it eventually?
The problem is that many streamer tools and addons are not compatible with Windows 11 yet and Windows 10 only has TLS 1.2. So by not supporting TLS 1.2 anymore, while it is not noticable for users in the browser, it causes alot of issues for creators, because in its current state 7tv emotes cant be accessed and displayed by anything 3rd party in most cases anymore.
@opaque goblet maybe you can give some insights here
Looking into it
Works now 🙂 using the curl command scrub gave in this GitHub issue where it was failing for me previously on my Windows 10 VM

I guess I'll remove my proxy from TwitchDownloader eventually if this stays the same, thanks!
just did some tests on 2 applications with chats that gave me the SSL connection error before and so far it seems like it works now : )
