#Emotes blank on everything.

For the past month my home and work pc have stopped showing 7tv emotes. They are just blank off black boxes. I use firefox but have tried chrome and opera gx as well to the same issue. I attempted the host file trick but unsure if I did it right and saw no change. Here are some images for reference though I think the problem is common enough people know.

Did you space it out like that?

radiant scroll
#

it should just be 1 space between the ip and the name

can you restart the browser chrome://restart

thorny night
#

i use firefox mainly

#

but i will try in chrome yeah

radiant scroll
#

you are not on a vpn or anything right?

thorny night
#

not on this pc no, at home I use tailscale but that isn't really a traditional vpn so

radiant scroll
#

does it load in incognito?

thorny night
#

nope

#

firefox also nada when using incognito

radiant scroll
#

can you try it with a vpn?

#

or even just try it with your mobile hotspot if you want.. I do not understand why it would be blocked Hmm

thorny night
#

honestly if it would take a vpn to use I am okay just not personally. if there is a free one I can use to help test I am willing to do that but I dont care too much to use one myself beyond the one my server hosts

#

i can try my mobile hotspot yeah

#

currently on hotspot now

#

pulls up now

#

so something to do with both my work network and my home network it appears

radiant scroll
#

Yeah Hmm

thorny night
radiant scroll
#

I doubt its being blocked by your isp or firewall since it just started happening randomly.. I guess you can try to change your dns settings to either Cloudflare or Google? but that requires a restart on your router. uhhh @pliant torrent tagging you in peepoRun

#

The thing I dont understand is that it pulls correctly from the nslook up but the site doesnt load.. It has to be being blocked by something

thorny night
#

I wouldn't be surprised about my work as my work network has greater restrictions due to the nature of its use, but my home network surprised me when it did it too.

thorny night

#

If nslookup returns the ips then idk

#

possibly browser dns caching?

#

Do you get a response if you do ping cdn.7tv.app?

thorny night
#
