this has only started in the last ~5 days but every time i open a stream website whether it's homepage or an actual stream, my whole browser freezes for a good 10 seconds but then continues to work fine, but there's a similarly timed delay from stream/chat. tried full resetting chrome and removing all extensions but even with just 7tv enabled it's still doing it. if it was just the freeze i could probably get over it but the desync from chat makes it kinda annoying
#extension bricking my browser

edit: twitch homepage will freeze for about 10 seconds on landing, kick homepage goes completely unresponsive and kills the page
does it do this in incognito?
I recommend just removing 7tv clearing cache and then install 7tv nightly
incognito fixes it
tried clearing all time cache and nightly version with nothing else enabled and still does it 😦

Do you have hardware acceleration off?
Try turning that off and see if it fixes your issue and if it doesn't you can try creating a new Chrome profile and installing 7tv and see if it changes anything

Does it do this on any other browser?
can you actually hit f12 and see if you are getting any errors on chrome
incognito disables all extensions (unless you specifically set them to be enabled in incognito) so it could be a conflict with another extension too
I had them use it with another profile and disable all other extensions and except 7tv
not sure if any of this is useful im no coding man
not really, you'd need to go into console
this is what shows on youtube immediately after page stops responding
so 7tv extension bricks youtube as well?
yeah youtube, twitch and kick
can you click on one of these
only difference is that if i go to twitch/youtube homepage, it freezes for ~10 secs THEN i can click to a stream/video and its fine, but kick homepage dies completely
what is that url
also can you show these logs from twitch instead of youtube
sure
huh twitch seems to be fine now but still doing it for youtube/kick
all ive done since last night is turn pc off and on
classic
im telling you its real
disable youtube in extension settings and see if it helps
we dont support youtube rn anyway
if it's still bricked then its a different extension or browser setting
disabled for youtube but still doing it
nothing else is enabled + browser is still fresh from clearing it last night
but it stops immediately with 7tv disabled
I mean as far as I know if you don't give access to the site then the extension is effectively disabled on that site
this looks interesting too
are you on nightly or stable?
try to completely remove extension from chrome and see if it still breaks youtube
tried both
ill try remove it
yeah its fine with it removed
on god dont worry about it ill just use not chrome lol
check what is this and try to open the errors here and see the url
it makes no sense that with site permissions it would break
@fathom cairn I'm kind of out of ideas, thoughts?
i mean i found something but it doesnt really make sense
if i turn this off it fixes it
but then it was still freezing on a new profile with nothing but 7tv enabled
so idk
maybe in details you have it set to enable in incognito
idk how a new profile would handle this
yeah maybe just because it's enabled in a different profile it still breaks it in incognito
