so i tried everything that you could possibly find here (reload browser, reinstalled extention, cleared browser cache, tried in private browser and checked disk space etc.) but 7tv is just not showing on twitch at all
i am on opera gx and did nothing different but it just disappeared

So you did try putting chrome://restart in the url tab Hmm

lapis abyss
#

yes, didnt help

ashen sky
#

opera gx issue

#

do emotes not show up or not even the control buttons?

#

like this

lapis abyss
#

not even the controll buttons

ashen sky
#

you should look into the website permissions then, i cant really advise on operagx but this is how it looks on chrome

lapis abyss
#

looks pretty much the same, i mean it could be opera sided but i didnt find anything on that

lunar jetty
#

I don’t believe opera gx is officially supported and from what I’ve seen isn’t the most reliable

#

Weird that it would randomly break for you though

ashen sky
#

if it looks to be active and has perms, then go to any twitch chat, press f12 and show console to see if there are any errors thrown

lapis abyss
#

yeah there are a few errors

ashen sky
#

show

#

anything like this?

lapis abyss
#

followed by many "Failed to load resource: net::ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT"

ashen sky
#

I will pass that onto the devs, thanks

#

are you using nightly or stable?

lapis abyss
#

nightly but stable didnt work either

Can you try deleting the indexed db for 7tv

lapis abyss
#

there is nothing in index db

elder eagle
#

Are you in private mode of any sort?

#

Apparently IndexedDB is not usable in private mode on for example firefox

#

So could be something similar for opera gx

lapis abyss
#

no, normal browser

elder eagle
#

What operating system are you on?

#

From what it seems like the database issue is probably not an issue caused by us, but rather a bug that can happen in chromium

ashen sky
#

@lapis abyss so this randomly happened and only afterwards you reinstalled extension right?

elder eagle
#

Its been reported multiple times on mac apparently

lapis abyss
ashen sky
#

can you try chrome just for testing?

elder eagle
#

Could you try running await navigator.storage.estimate() in you browser console?

lapis abyss
elder eagle
#

Curious, have you tried completely restarting your computer after the issue first appeared. Seems like gx is having issues writing to disk

ashen sky
#

do you have chrome and opera gx installed on the same drive?

lapis abyss
elder eagle
#

From all the reports ive seen with the same db issue the only thing that reliably has fixed it for them is reinstalling the browser or deleting all the browser data

#

But that would reset all your browser user data

ashen sky
#

you could probably export a profile

elder eagle
#

Unless importing that profile introduces the issue again

#

But worth a shot

ashen sky
#

yeah that would be new finding

lapis abyss
#

ill try that, thanks guys

#

really quick and good help

#

i can also try on another opera profile

lapis abyss
#

other opera profile works...

ashen sky
#

W

#

so local issue with the profile having permissions to write in some folder probably

lapis abyss
#

would it work on this profile if i reinstall?
the sync should work

elder eagle
#

Possibly

lapis abyss
#

i synced everything on this profile and it doesnt work after reinstall

elder eagle
#

Either there is something corrupt in the settings of that user or you have some setting enabled that prevents usage of indexeddb

lapis abyss
#

i checked and the "Failed to load resource: net::ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT" errors have nothing to do with 7tv or twitch
