First off, you can just change the url to be gif or webp
and secondly, that's literally what the "Download" button is for.
it lets you pick a format and resolution so you don't have to edit the url manually

@upper hound Im not grabbing the url by pressing the ""Download"" button, but by right-clicking -> copy img url and then pasting it in the file explorer adress bar when I upload an emoji.
yes but.... why?
wdym?
I noticed
it brings us back to the original question of why gifs in preview are only shown as .avif @upper hound
because they're better in every way
But discord is dumb and doesn't support them yet
^
not better in every way for me, when Im trying to use the emote on discord, makes sense right? @upper hound
yes but just change the URL to gif
or use the download button to do that for you
OR
download the avif and use something else to convert it to a gif
If I go to a store and the door is stuck and the owner tells me and everybody else to just walk around the building and use the backdoor, wouldn't you agree that the owned should fix the door instead? @upper hound
no
because the front door isn't broken
@upper hound the door is stuck
wouldn't you agree that the owned should fix the door instead?

assuming the door is stuck, would you agreed that the owned should fix the door? @upper hound
just click download
get the gif
ez
simple
IDK why you're trying to use the avif at all
its the only version in the preview, getting to anything else requires me to open new tabs
yes
the preview will be avif
that is NOT changing
the door is NOT broken
I recorded the userflow(?) of importing an emoji to discord.The first run took 0:13 - 1:05 (52sec), the second 0:10 - 0:43 (33sec). A time saving of around 35% @upper hound
I understand this is not a perfect recording, in addition to the fact that only the smallest version turned out to be working
