searching "forsen" only gives results that are named exactly "forsen", searching "forse" gives expected results.
I'm guessing this is because they're using the new search algorithm when sorting by new, when searching should be a simple name/tag filter in this case.
#Issue with searching when sorting by new

This is just the case because there are a lot of emotes called "forsen"
Can you reproduce this with a different search query?
Don't you expect to see emotes called "forsen" when you type "forsen"? That's my understanding of a search
no its actually more complicated
i explained it here
or i guess thats another issue
i didnt read
nvm
No, especially when I'm sorting by new I expect it to just filter by emotes and tags without weighting or bias
If you're sorting by new, when you search, it should still be sorted by new, but it isnt
It's also related to a larger issue I have with the new search algo, but it's more annoying and counter-intuitive when searching by new. #1317190353295507519 message
This way of thinking assumes that people already know the name of the emote they're looking for when searching for it, which is the case sometimes, but sometimes you just want to do a search to see what related emotes are out there, and there isn't really a way to do this.
Tag search kind of does, but obviously it only searches for tags
its 2025 and sorting by new still doesnt sort by new
