#Since new backend release emotes won't load

Like mentioned in the FAQ help section I already set the DNS in Windows to use 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8 and deleted all cached data related to twitch and 7tv but with no success. The only thing that works is to re-dial my VDSL connection to my ISP (by either manually re-dialing or just rebooting the router). Then I immediately can load the emotes but it takes only about an hour until I have to repeat the process. I don't know what settings I should change for this to stay stable but I feel like my ISP has trouble relaying the requests to your CDN. Anyone got an idea what I could do about it?

mhm another one from germany

ISP is Deutsche Telekom

I manually set the DNS servers in my router now which caused the emotes to load again, but I need to wait until in a few hours/tomorrow to see if it wasn't yet just another temporary fix

I feel like installing a VPN just to load emotes feels a little overkill lol

junior hornet
#

yeah, just a temp fix

I mean for now re-booting my router/re-dialing my VDSL is also a temp fix, I'll wait for you guys to find out the real cause of the issue

Closing because there is another ticket tracking this

potent olive
#

Okay the other issue seems to be unrelated.

I can confirm that my issue is 100% not user device related. Had the problems both with my phone, a macbook and a desktop PC as long as I was using my home internet. Could be my router config, but even with the DNS servers set up in my router settings and it working for a while when my WAN connection is refreshed, it eventually stops resolving/times out requests to 7tv CDN a couple hours later.

#

@potent olive if you want, once my requests get timed out again, I can also install wireshark and look at the requests

#

probably tomorrow though, currently it's resolving as I refreshed my WAN connection about an hour ago to watch Twitch YEOP

potent olive
#

if you could tell me

#
ping cdn.7tv.app
ping eu.cdn.7tv.app
#

and then also

#
ping 37.27.171.122
ping 2a01:4f9:3070:3300::1
violet wraith
#

as said, gotta wait until the timeouts reappear

#

atm all pings are going through, my last reconnect to my ISP was only an hour ago

#

Pretty sure when I open 7tv app tomorrow I won't see emotes again. Was like this for the last days. I'll give you the ping responses then Okay

violet wraith
#

so far everything seems to be stable now

potent olive
#

Okay im going to close this ticket and please ping me / open a new one if anything happens.

potent olive
#

violet wraith
#

potent olive
#

was it already disabled?

#

do u have wireshark?

violet wraith
#

was already disabled yes

#

I can install it

potent olive
#

ye if u c an ill walk u thru creating a trace for me to look at

violet wraith
#

Installed it and rebooted, what do I do now?

#

@potent olive

potent olive
#

lets narrow it down to a single server for now

#

ip.addr == 37.27.171.117

#

use this as the filter

#

so it looks like this

violet wraith
#

like this?

potent olive
#

yes

#

and then select the correct network adapter

violet wraith
#

Ethernet I suppose at it has traffic

potent olive
#

yeah

#

and then click the little shark fin

violet wraith
#

yeah

potent olive
#

so nothing should show right now

#

because ur not doing anything

violet wraith
potent olive
#

but then go in ur browser

#
http://37.27.171.117
#

not https

#

http

violet wraith
#

alright

potent olive
#

then u should see some packets

violet wraith
#

ye

potent olive
#

and u can stop it

#

because i assume its not loading

#

and then just save it
