You could “transfer” emotes from other channels, so if a streamer had 600 7TV emotes, you could transfer them to another channel that had exactly the same emotes. Somehow this no longer works and all emotes have been deleted from one channel. What is the reason for this?

You're probably talking about the origin feature, it was removed

Something similar to the origin feature will come back with the new website

but for now you can't
