Is it possible to change the payment method to a different PayPal account? When I click on "Update Payment Method", I get redirected to Stripe, but I can only add a credit card.

Stripe unfortunately is a bit strange in that regard sometimes. Sometimes it even helps to just wait a day and the option could be back. If not you can try to let your sub run out and see if you can change the address then.
Or do you have any other ideas here @scenic imp ?

I already checked that screen on multiple days, I didn't really know I should look for that, but I'm pretty sure I would've seen it if there was another option.

nah, there wouldn't be any downsides, as soon as you resubscribe your progress would continue exactly where it stopped and you keep all paints and badges and everything. So yea, that would be what I would try next, but as mentioned, maybe Kathy has another idea. She's responsible for all the payment related topics

Ok, good to know. It's not too urgent at the moment, the renewal would be in 7 days. So I can wait to see if Kathy has another idea.

I think Kathy can't change anything in this case
do not renew -> wait for it to expire -> you should have an option to use paypal when it's a "fresh" subscription

Once I let my sub expire, paid through PayPal, I haven't been able to resub. There is no option to resubscribe through paypal, and the "change payment type" link doesn't go anywhere or do anything. So I wouldn't recommend letting it end. :/

stripe is the only payment method currently
but on stripe you can pay with paypal, you need to select "pay without link"

Link seems to be the service which allows you to save your credit card information to reuse on other services to pay with "one click", I'm not sure how that's related to stripe and paypal
