I've been trying to solve this problem with 7TV for months now. The extension basically crashes consistently and forces me to restart the whole browser (not just the twitch tab) for it to work again properly. Also, the first time I open the browser and a new twitch tab, the tab is guaranteed to be unresponsive and I have to close it and open it again. I tried using FFZ with 7TV enabled, same problem (FFZ works fine with the 7TV emotes option DISABLED). I obviously tried reinstalling the extension and the browser.
I don't remember the last time a technical issue frustrated me this much lol
Does anyone else have similar issues with the extension or is it just me ? Thanks in advance

do you have any other extensions?
hardware acceleration enabled?
it's going to be difficult to investigate if it crashes the entire browser, maybe if you found some logs
but if it only affects 7tv extension or ffz with 7tv addon then it might be some issue with VPN or ISP when you load emotes from our cdn
does it happen on other browsers too?
I have multiple other extensions but they have been there for a VERY long time
Hardware Acceleration is OFF
I haven't tried other browsers but I will
But as you said, its difficult to investigate
turn hardware acceleration on
wait I booted up the browser and the tab didn't crash the first time
Improvement
I'll keep diagnosing for a few hours/days and post updates here

does it normally keep instacrashing?
Usually the first time I open up the browser and open a twitch tab it crashes instantly
was it after turning on hw acc?

yes, and it's been working fine for more than 30 minutes now, which is not usually the case

i did not expect hw acc to fix it, that's just generally a good practice but glad it helped
I'm gonna finish downloading something and then boot up a stream and leave it open for a few hours and see how it goes.. usually it crashes in less than an hour
If I get zero crashes in 2 days that basically means it's fixed 100000%

I think it's safe to say that this problem is fixed, and wow was that really simple
