Describe the issue / feature
I'm looking to use emotes on the Trending page as Personal Emotes, however many of them show "Channels (0)" despite them being used in multiple channels I know of. I saw an older post here regarding this, and it was not answered. link to the other thread

The only response it had was somebody mentioning if the ratio is >1:1.5 then the emote is not able to be used.

One of the emotes I was looking to use is <1:1.. so that might be why? But I'm unsure.

It would be great if somebody could clear this up as I cannot find any info ok

Example: https://7tv.app/emotes/65d5cc84069e133ba784d43f (0.66:1)

Little update @primal lava,

I've gone to try and use the Personal Emotes and they don't seem to be working.

This morning my Personal Emotes were showing up in the emote menu but the moment I used one of them in chat it showed for a split second and then reverted to text.

Now when I go to check the emote menu the Personal Emotes category is missing completely.

I've checked to ensure I'm logged in on the extension itself and my Twitch is connected but no luck sadly.

I don't know if there's any other steps needed? If you require any further info, please let me know :)

You no longer get the error though right?

#

@cold yew can you link your 7tv profile or give twitch name?

cold yew
#

I no-longer get an error when I add an emote, they just don't seem to be usable. I double checked to ensure it's enabled etc

#

To add to this point:

This morning my Personal Emotes were showing up in the emote menu but the moment I used one of them in chat it showed for a split second and then reverted to text.

When I sent the emote again my paint colour disappeared, but it seems to have reappeared now

okay, that doesn't sound like an issue with personal emote, just generic extension issues

cold yew
#

Yeah possibly. FWIW I was using FFZ with 7TV enabled on Edge and the personal emotes weren't working.. so I swapped over to Firefox with just the 7TV extension and it made no improvement

Okie one moment

#

Not much improvement sadly. It showed up the first time I sent it in chat, but when I refreshed and sent it again it reverted the one I just sent and the ones prior to text.. and on the next refresh the Personal Emotes category is now missing again

@stoic storm any ideas

not sure forsenThinking rare behavior

formal moss
#

@cold yew can you try chrome at least for testing purposes and see if it makes a difference?

cold yew
#

I have no issues whatsoever with regular 7TV, FFZ, BTTV emotes; just personal ones

formal moss
#

Okay, thanks, I messaged the devs because it's quite a rare issue indeed

Should I try the nightly version of chatterino7 or just the stable build?

formal moss
#

uh, I use 7.5.1

cold yew
#

Okie I'll go for that one then ok

#

That works great

#

I was using Chatterino initially, didn't know there was one for 7tv's extras PepeMhmm

formal moss
#

yeah, so dev feedback - on the extension the presence is updated after sending a message, which is why text turns into emotes and why refreshing may impact it

#

and I believe that chatterino updates presence when you open a channel tab rather than when you refresh the page

cold yew
#

Ahh I see, thank you for checking! I'll happily use Chatterino7 if that's what will work best on my end

formal moss
#

yep I would definitely recommend

In terms of personal emotes, does each emote need to be approved by a moderator to be used personally? I noticed on the CatTime emote it now shows kathy approved it for personal use, and that's when it no-longer showed the "less than 50 channels" error

formal moss
#

yes, they need to be approved by our team

#

here are rules for personal emotes:
Why isn't my personal emote approved?
This is because we have more stricter rules of what we not allow than emotes you can use in a specific channel.

These rules are:
Any sexually suggestive, lewd emotes, including POGGIES is not allowed. Many users maybe uncomfortable with some users coming in their chat spamming lewd emotes. (amongus twerking emotes are fine)

An animated emote which changes rapidly, such as each frame being wildly different from the previous or having a very high framerate that may otherwise cause significant distraction is not allowed. Changing colors with low brightness is fine.

Emotes referencing alcohol, drugs, or any other substance is not allowed.

Any emotes depicting violence (cartoon gun and knife emotes are fine, as long as there is no blood) is not allowed.

Hateful or provocative emotes are not allowed.

Controversial or any emotes that may cause an argument or "chat-war" is not allowed.

Pointing to bodily harm for oneself or others (including emotes like "LTG lightning") is not allowed.

All emotes has to have 50 channels enabled

The maximum ratio is 1.5:1

Great, thank you for the information! For example this emote, would this be classed as "violence"? I see the emote was approved for public listing but is yet to be decided for personal use: https://7tv.app/emotes/66720df6d95ff032c6a6fa90

A lot of the emotes I come across show "Channels (0)" which is the initial reason for help, but I expect this is false when emotes are on top/trending? This one for example is #29 on Trending, and I've seen the emote in other channels so "0" channels doesn't necessarily seem right?

formal moss
#

pspHmm honestly not sure if it'd classify this as violence but it might fall under rapidly changing animation

will ask and let you know
