When using 7tv:

• Page loads very slow
• Pausing and unpausing vod is delayed
• (Emotes take a while to load and they were loading almost instantly a few days ago)
  When not using 7tv:
• Page reloads fast
• Chat not stuck
• Pausing is responsive

Eventually, if it plays out long enough or you leave it paused and come back, the emotes all load and the pausing responsiveness gets faster (but still not as good as when there is no extension), but if I go to another VOD the page takes forever to load again which just makes it very annoying to move around because it starts all over again. Everything was working fine ~3 days ago and I haven't changed anything (I have tried graphics acceleration both on and off on chrome) so idk what changed. (If I'm being stupid and there is some obvious fix I'm sorry)

(If you care: It started ~2 days ago and I thought it was just twitch so I just ignored it and hoped it would go away. It still wasn't better today and so I thought it might be chrome so I tried to go to edge and twitch worked fine (great right?), so I added 7tv extension to edge and then the performance issues started there on edge as well which is how I found it was the extension. Upon removing the extension on both browsers the issues go away but alas, no more 7tv emotes without the 7tv extension. I have tried restarting my computer a few times and also removing and re-adding the extension a few times which haven't fixed it.)

Also, apparently I'm not alone on this issue as I see another post by @slate marlin in #1204105649244479518 from 6 hours ago that says 7tv started lagging their twitch/youtube about 2 days ago and when I asked in general some other people had mentioned problems as well.

Right away, if I paused the vod and I waited a bit, the pausing got a little more responsive but refreshing the page or switching streams/vods was still laggy. I didn’t test it for too long though because it was annoying and I just switched to YouTube.

Can second everything @broken ridge has said, they basically explained exactly what I've been seeing since yesterday. I've also been seeing some chatters in streams complaining about 7tv things being sluggish that sounds like this as well. After a while of watching things seem to improve somewhat.

I currently have Chrome version 125.0.6422.61, it only started on May 17, and on the evening of May 16 everything was working well

I have now turned on the 7TV extension and it has stopped lagging like it did yesterday. I do not know what happened

are you by chance also using Malwarebytes Browser Guard?

No extensions VS 7TV enabled, usually builds up to 1.5 GB memory usage -

Browser version:
Brave - Version 1.66.110 Chromium: 125.0.6422.60 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Also had a lot of issues with 7TV not loading emotes at all, and I'll have to refresh over and over until they pop up, tons of people in the same community with the same issue

@broken ridge @inner crypt do you also use Malwarebytes Browser Guard? and if so, are you able to update Chrome & Malwarebytes Browser Guard (manually if necessary) and report back, thanks

@sturdy ravine I do use the browser guard. Updated it and Chrome to the latest available and restarted, and everything seems to be running pretty smoothly now. Currently on Chrome version 125.0.6422.61 and browser guard version 2.6.26

Guess it auto updated since it was working smooth when I got on today

I and many others have this exact issue constantly.

But i have another issue right now that have been going on the last week.
When im in a chat, some messages pops up but instantly goes away, so i cant really see the chat.
Once a message pops up it goes away again, i have tried EVERYTHING - refresh a 100 times, close the browser and all that, so it just ends up with that i have to restart the whole pc for it to get fixed, but then it goes some hours and the same issue happends again.

welp the cause of it is probably with having both FFZ and 7tv on at the same time
just enable either one of them if that's the case
