As of right now, I can access the 7tv emotes under the bttv extension, which works just fine. The suggestion is to have its own icon menu so I can look through just 7tv emotes, if that makes sense.
the full version of the extension has a ton of great features, I was just putting in a suggestion for a lite version

What you're saying makes sense, but BTTV and FFZ support 7tv emotes on their own.
7tv isn't going to make an extension that only adds emotes to other extensions, because that is the responsiblity of, and already done by the other extensions

ok, i think ii see the confusion, I'm imaging a world where the only extension i have is "7tv lite" and that is an emote menu icon and tab auto-search/complete

so some things aren't working for me, somethings are working in unwanted ways, and somethings are now vastly different than mobile(so its like relearning a bit)

Just use FFZ in the mean time. All of the problems are being fixed but it takes a while for Google to approve the extensions

They are working on remote updates instead of through Google/Mozilla so that won't be an issue soon enough

yeah, like i said i got emotes working and what not atm, so I'm good to wait and check out the next "official" release
I'm not a fancy 7tv user lol, I just love the emote platform
been subbed to y'all for almost a year now

Basically, the emotes have to get into chat somehow. Whether that's BTTV, FFZ, or 7TV.
The 7TV devs have their own extension they want to make that includes features that other extensions don't have, such as live emote updates and such.
The old "v2" extension was using the old APIs which were quickly becoming unsustainable with the number of users 7TV now has, so the new extension was needed. There are some problems with it still, but they will be solved soon enough.
So right now we're in a bit of a "limbo" state but it won't be that way for long.

Just to come round back to the suggestion, for me (and I am probably the minority), your emote platform is your most valuable asset, and the suggestion was meant to have that as a standalone extension.

There's very little "bloat" in even the new 7TV compared to FFZ in my opinion
