Adding permissions by hand didn't help.

i have almost similar problem. once it works once not :/ and idk why :/
v3 doesn't seem to work at all in Private Mode on Firefox. Is this intentional?
it can't work in private browsing
the extension relies on some features that firefox blocks during private browsing
because they would leak data onto disk where it shouldnt be
but this is not something we can control
specifically indexeddb, which in firefox's implementation, is purely disk based
so they have the dilema of not being able to provide functionality at all in private browsing, since it would always leak the presence of a site onto disk
I have the same issue on Firefox
I don't really use 7tv on youtube except for the true theater feature, but after the update it doesn't work anymore on firefox, sadge, please fix
For anyone who's been having issues with 3.0 not loading 7TV emotes, for me it turned out to be noscript blocking the 7tv.io domain. 2.2.3 didn't need this domain whitelisted so I just assumed the new version was busted, but after adding it to the whitelist it solved my issue
Ah, so my issue is the private browsing. I would love a version that works on private browsing.
I don't use private browsing. I have had the same issue for 3 days now. I uninstalled the extension i have tried using the beta built and the normal one. Emotes were working fine before.
no
about:config
dom.indexedDB.privateBrowsing.enabled -> true
because they way they work is fundamentally different
7tv operates in the page's own context (because it has to to patch twitch internals)
extensions like ublock run in their own seperated contexts
with elevated permissions
however we cannot
anyone knows how to bring back true theatre mode on youtube firefox? mine stop working 😦
I am running into the same problem as Blanc on firefox 111.0.1
Appreciate the response. Guess I'll just run Firefox and Chrome at the same time if I want to be on original and alt accounts simultaneously.
If you want to be on an alt on Firefox you can use container tabs
Right click the new tab button and you can create a new container
seems like you need an extension to do that: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/containers
Add Container tabs to Firefox with the Multi-Account Containers add-on, to separate your work and personal browsing.
I don't have that as an extension
but I've seen some firefox installs dont have it by default
and I assume that's why
for me its just an option
in firefox
Any news regarding the problem? My V3 is still not working on firefox
Same
Seems like this feature got regressed away with a lot of other youtube support like the emote menu
Hey guys, wanted to thank you for the fix. With the new patch its all working again ❤️
Mine is still broken. Even after update.
fixed it for me, thank you so much
So there is another issue I have noticed. I am using alternate player for twitch. In the chatbox of that player the 7tv emotes do not work. Though I expect this is more of an issue on the side of the alternate player than 7tv
There's a Compatibility tab in the 7TV Addon
@late glen thanks for the info 👍
I simply get by with popout chat of the regular twitch player + video of the alternate player. I really like the features it offers.
hi i have similar issues
emotes weren't working on my windows 10 firefox
tried updating but it just wasnt downloading it, it said downloading but as soon as i closed the 7tv window and opened it again it reset
so i uninstalled and now i can't reinstall cause the site says it's broken on firefox and the link to the nightly version is broken
I have the same problem : I uninstalled an older version of 7tv in firefox and wanted to install the latest build but the download link does not work . firefox browser-addons reports : "that item is no longer available"
Uninstalled and installed the new add on from the website and it still doesn't work.
I have the new 3.0.7.2 nightly version downloaded via the link on 7tv.app. It has since updated itself to 3.0.7.3. Works fine for me.
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Also tested the stable 3.0.7 version from 7tv.app. Works fine for me too.
A few days ago, mine stopped working, entirely. If I click on the 7TV tab for the emotes, ti won't load anything. Then, I went to update, but it just says it's downloading, but never downloads. I click back to the Twitch stream, and it goes back to wanting to download, again.
@frank drift Did you download the latest version from 7tv.app? If not, remove the version you have now and get 3.0.7 from the 7tv website. It will update to the latest version automatically, 3.0.9
The only thing I see to download is a browser extension. I don't even see anywhere to uninstall the current version, anywhere, either.
In Firefox press Ctrl+Shift+A. Find 7tv in the list, hit the ... menu and select remove. Then on 7tv.app download the web extension, either Stable or Nightly. It will then auto update itself.
Okay, I removed the old one, and downloaded the extension, which is just an xpl file. So, how does it autoupdate?
You have to install the addon file, but then the app will keep itself updated. Just watch Twitch and the app will update in the background.
It's an xpl, not an installation file, though.
When you downloaded the file Firefox should have asked if you want to install the add-on. If not I think you can Ctrl+Shift+A again. Press the gear menu button in the top-right, and select Install add-on from file.
Ah, thank you! Yeah, it didn't automatically ask me to install it, but now it works!

this worked for me, thank you ❤️ My emote menu wouldnt come up when I clicked nutton next to chat box but I could still see emotes in chat. I was stuck on version 3.0. Manually removed extension and downloaded new version from the 7tv website and its working again
I have the same problem, I completely removed the extension and restarted firefox but when i try to download the new release from the website (doesn't matter which) Firefox tells me "The Add-on couldn't be downloaded due to a connection error"... anyone got an idea on this? it's the only add-on this happens with :P
Hmm, not sure about that one. It's downloading for me. What happens if you go to https://extension.7tv.gg/v3.0.7/ext.xpi in a new tab?
same thing
Ight, will do
shall i link this thread in the message, so the problem is described?
(basically I don't wanna write it out)
I would just say that when I try to download the extension for Firefox from 7tv.app I get the following error: xxxx
ight
