Describe the issue
After 7tv just updated, I am having a pop up telling me there are multiple instances of 7tv running. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall but this pops up every time. I can't use anything related to 7tv at the moment.

Where does the issue happen
Firefox Browser version 111.0.1

Steps to Reproduce
The app automatically updated while I had streams open with 7tv running

It did not :/

sage marsh
#

did you fully close it out? sometimes it might hang in the background

#

maybe kill via the task manager

fierce bobcat
#

Ill check the task manager yep

#

ok no duplicate 7tv running anymore but, still not functioning :/

sage marsh
#

can you show your console

#

f12 or ctrl+shift+i

2nd tab

fierce bobcat
#

ah yes if I could read sorry lol

sage marsh
#

just to be sure, you arent in a private window?

fierce bobcat
#

nope and I do allow 7tv in it

sage marsh
#

it won't work at all in a private window just as an fyi

fierce bobcat
#

oh good to know

sage marsh
#

can you scroll up and show the rest of the logs above

fierce bobcat
#

whole bunch of 2rem parsing messages so ill screen shot above them

sage marsh
#

that's the error that would pop up if you were in a private window ApuThink

fierce bobcat
#

hmm I do have another extension I could try turning it off quick to see if they conflict

#

nope it wasnt that

sharp jewel
#

@fierce bobcat are you out of site storage space?

#

how big is your firefox profile dir

#

theres a global cross site limit

#

if you've used any idb heavy web apps

#

it might be full

sage marsh
#

might be good that we display some kind of error window when IDB errors out

#

with suggestions of what to do to fix

sharp jewel
#

should probably yeage

#

also think we should add a reset tool

#

that lets you clear out some things from the extensions storage

#

or everything

#

wouldnt help with this but just reminded me of it

fierce bobcat
#

I don't actually cache any info on firefox because twitch bogs down bad

#

dont save cookies or anything

sharp jewel
#

oh, well that would be the issue

#

you need to allow storage

fierce bobcat
#

ah ok

sharp jewel
#

the extension is very db heavy

#

we use the storage for basically everything

fierce bobcat
#

ooo never had an issue with it before

sharp jewel
#

to save resources when having alot of twitch tabs

sage marsh
#

it's new, previously it didnt do anything fancy but in 3.0 it uses a database to reuse resources across tabs

fierce bobcat
#

yeah that makes sense! Ill see how to save twitch and give you an update

sharp jewel
#

if you've got granular control it only needs IndexedDB

#

you can leave localstorage and cookies

fierce bobcat
#

yeah actually sorry anatole they call that mode on firefox "permanent private mode" so I was private

dawn bramble
#

was this update even tested on firefox?

sharp jewel
fierce bobcat
#

alright that was the fix DinkDonk

#

sorry about all that!

#

love the extension btw keep up the great work!

dawn bramble
#

literally, the only way to get 7tv working is uninstalling 7tv and enabling 7tv emotes through bttv, just wished there was a rollback feature

fierce bobcat
#

you might need to disable bttv, 7tv handles ffz and bttv for me
