You know how vods have always shown timestamps and live chats do not? Any pasta that relies on predictable line length gets messed up in vods. I think a pretty slick solution would be to either hide timestamps until the message is hovered over, OR extend the chat width to allow for timestamps while keeping the text-area width the same as native. The hover method would also be useful during live chats, particularly in slower chats, to see when messages were posted.
