When you reply to a thread it replies to the last person in that thread, creating a new thread, instead of replying to the OP of the thread. This defeats the purpose of threads.

For example in this thread someone started it, someone else replied, and then I replied using the beta 7tv extension, but instead of continuing the thread it started a new thread off of the second message

i am not sure what you mean
is that not how it's meant to be? otherwise what's the point of threads at all if it's always the first message

This is a normal thread, all message after each other in the thread that way you can see the whole conversation.
Whereas 7tv beta extension is splitting the thread into multiple threads which makes it impossible to see the whole conversation
