I've been missing this feature a ton ever since I switched to the 7TV beta (I'm guessing the non-beta didn't conflict as much with BTTV, which is where the feature is from).
It's great for seeing if you were mentioned while you were afk, without missing the message completely if you were afk, or attention was elsewhere in a fast chat.
