You guys should add a feature that makes 7tv remove the referrer=raid code off the url after a viewer is sent to another channel by raids to help people get more "organic" viewers so they can get closer to Twitch Partner easier 🙂

The goal of 7TV is not to help streamers get partnered easier

#

That would be extreme levels of feature creep

Would love to see this. In fact I came here just to suggest it. Would be super nice not to have to do this myself every single time I'm part of a raid. It's just the kind thing to do for everyone whether they're chasing partner or not.

holy necro

I don't think twitch would be very happy with 7tv if they did that

whys that? they already allow for things like auto channel point and drops claiming in these extensions when thats obviously not the way twitch intended those features to function. is your role here just to gatekeep people's suggestions?

While I don't appreciate the rudeness, I'll explain the difference between the features. Channel points are completely cosmetic and can in no way be turned into real money. If what you say is true about the "referrer=raid" URL parameter, that's a much bigger change to how twitch operates, when you consider that spoofing the source of a viewer is similar to viewbotting in a way. (Artificially boosting someone's statistics with the goal of making money.) Now, it is sorta Twitch's own fault for using tracking that can be spoofed by simply changing the URL, but that alone doesn't mean Twitch would be OK with people exploiting it.

I believe the 7TV devs are on good terms with the Twitch devs, and I'm sure they'd like to keep it that way.

From Twitch’s perspective, if you enjoy a channel, you will follow and come back to watch again.

#

I would honestly be surprised if that url parameter was actually being counted in any significant way

#

Because there are SO MANY better metrics they can use

in the specific instance that brought me here with the idea it happens that one streamer I follow always raids into another streamer I follow when they go live.
