subs (or maybe everyone) get the ability to mirror any emote just like renaming them. Shrugeg

This has been suggested before in the form of "emote modifiers"

nimble wyvern
#

oh okay

young oracle
#

similar to zero-width/overlay emotes, the modifier would be typed after the emote to mirror it when typed in chat

#

rather than storing mirrored versions on the server

#

but that's pretty complicated. Right now, it's easier just to have people reupload flipped emotes. lol

nimble wyvern
#

yea yea that. i thought of this when i saw that boobamirrored emote lule

But your method would probably be easier to program into the site.

#

Just a feature to create another "alias" with the modifier applied

#

so every emote could have a flipped variant

nimble wyvern
#

yea yea

maybe it'll happen someday

there are other ideas for emote modifiers, and I think a lot of those would be better if they could be input into chat, rather than an emote having to be created beforehand

#

like using a "WAYTOO" modifier to apply the "waytoodank" animation to any emote

I'm assuming by mirror you mean more of like a horizontal flip right

nimble wyvern
#

yea

#

i get the chat input thing

#

but will it be user friendly like if you are looking to add different chat inputs

#

ill just endup spending like 30 secs typing

#

maybe im a slow typer

#

idk

young oracle
#

well twitch already has emote modifiers when you redeem channel points

#

like "squished" suffix is "_SQ"

stuck quiver
#

would be cool to just add a modifier to flip an emote when adding it

#

Just like an alias

young oracle
#

twitch has one already for flipping emotes too

#

is it _HF?

#

I forgor

nimble wyvern
#

idk but with twitch its just two mouse clicks

#

i dont have to type _HF

young oracle
#

true

#

but that's just how it's actually sent in chat

nimble wyvern
#

thats true

young oracle
#

3 characters is pretty reasonable to type as well

nimble wyvern
#

hmm, agreed

#

im no coder at the end it comes to what is more doable for the devs
