I know I'm not the only one who gets weary of the holiday emotes. Sometimes you just want the regular HUH back, but I know lots of people like them, so it'd be cool if there was a way to do this locally somehow...

do you mean in other people's chat?

Right

#

As a viewer/user, not a streamer

#

I guess as part of the addon or 7tv chatterino Hmmgi

#

There's literally dozens of us out here, we commiserate together each year October-December Sadeg

#

It wouldn't really need to be per channel. All usages of demon HUH just swapped to normal HUH could be a global rule or w/e

#

I imagine this could have a little utility if someone is offended by a particular emote in a channel or something like that Shrugeg

#

the nofap guys can convert Escape to something wholesome, for example Okayge

seasonal emotes arent switched out automatically by us, its done by the streamer ApuSit

Yeah I know, a solution would have to come as some kind of local rules to swap A -> B

but what if someone prefer the 🐢 huh and not the cat

Idk exactly how emotes are loaded [on the client], but when that happens you could theoretically just check the ~~list ~~ [map] of reroute rules and load the other image instead if one is found

#

So the turtle huh would be an option too Okayge

#

I realize sometimes people re-upload the same emote and it wouldn't work in that case, but at least for most of the major channels they usually target the same instance of an emote

#

Again, I got no idea how this stuff looks on the inside so this could either be reasonably easy to do or just totally too much trouble Shrugeg just spitballin

#

actually, 7tv chatterino is open source isn't it Hmmgi gonna poke around
