lets say your average guy gets a gif file (already very accessible), he’d have to go through the effort to compress and resize it to fit within bttv

the reason we have gif as an option (i assume) is because its convinient. if not, (and anatole’s reeeally pushing for avif/webp) then it’s useless as it’s only used for #activity-feed

The real problem is discord not supporting webp or avif. What we need is for people to go yell at discord to get on the ball.

Because that’s a silly thing to paywall. People can already just download the gif versions by changing the url.
