absolute agree but I think it's already on the to-do list. Probably will get fixed when variants are added. Then versions can start serving their originally intended purpose.

Well I think for versions, it can be assumed that the latest version will be the best one to display

Because versions should only be for improvements, and not changes that change the overall appearance of the emote.

imo small changes shouldn't be versions. Versions should be exclusively for huge changes to the original emote

I assume variants will be more like their own emotes, and have them merely "linked" to the original emote (and other variants) displayed in a similar way as versions are now. There's no reason for variants to all be contained "inside" one emote entry like versions are.
