The community would benefit if the local agents of moderation had the ability to merge emote versions for various reasons. I know better version control is already coming eventually, and I'll wait patiently for it. The ability to "re-order" versions would be nice as well, to change which emote is the "latest." (Also show the hecking latest version in list previews rather than the initial submission.)

also to add to this request, maybe add like an ability for the original author to choose which version to be used as an emote preview (maybe like a star or something next to the version). In some cases it makes sense for the latest versions to be shown as a preview (example upscaled/redrawn versions) but in some others the latest version would not be as good (example initial emote: THIS, 2nd version is a remaster, 3rd version is a halloween version)

Yeah, and that distinction is part of the eventual "better version control" I mentioned, as least as I understand it.
