Explore mode is only available as a goose, but sabotages can be viewed in YouTube videos or a few other places (I'm making an app to help with these things, slowly. )

As to 18+ nicknames, there is a filter for offensive words, but generally it is up to the room host to police the names of people joining their private room. If it's public, I'm not sure on the policy there, but generally I would report offensive names using the report feature

As for sabotages, unlocking them are all the same for the same lobby theme. ie, all space maps require a password code, all historical maps are connect the dots, and all adventure (?) maps are Simon Says/repeat the pattern.

Until the patch is out, I would recommend asking the lobby host to not use demo duck, or limit it to custom "hot potato" games (no meetings, only demo duck)

We like to play without using vents and the only sabotage we allow are non-critical sabotages (lights, doors, etc)

Conversations that go on in public games are still private, and we do not have access to the audio in any way. You can block or mute the relevant players in-game and use the in-game censoring filter. You can report the offending player as well, and these reports will be attached to their account, and may result in bans. If you are the lobby host, you can kick the offending players, and if you are not the host you can ask the host to kick them. Players who are kicked will not be able to rejoin the game unless permitted back in by the host. If the player in question is the host, and a sufficient number of players block their mics, they will be kicked from the game, and once again that will be reflected on their account.

I agree, I hate roles that almost only depend on optional roles to be balanced or counter-played. A role should be an optional way to play the game and have these two things. 1). The role should be able to play on its own, 2). The role should NOT rely on OPTIONAL mechanics and/or roles to be “balanced”. There’s a reason why the Sheriff is the most beloved role in modded Among Us and GGD, it’s main mechanic revolves on one of the most “fun” ways to play while relying on its own risk of dying being incorrect. Neutrals and potentially other goose roles like the mimic are additional balances/counter-plays. Just the celebrity in the game is the most unbalanced the mode can get, at that point, it’s just calling out the ducks with no fault of the ducks themselves, especially in proxy.

Maybe you still get voted out but put some doubt in them so maybe enough people skip. Though in my experience, if one particular person is being asked whether the Celebrity is alive, they're usually a killer who has played sloppily.

Mimic is probably the showstopper of all the geese roles, my first though when seeing it was "Oh thats interesting"
It's such a simple idea, but adds so much meta, gameplay, and fun by making the ducks have to deduce too

I will say though, the other roles in suspects are good, like the poisoner being you guessed it, poisoner in ToU it’s unfortunate that is shoved into one gamemode. And btw, no roles in that game are customizable, most of the roles are put into separate game modes.

my concern with the Pelican is that it may make things harder for the ducks than intended. It's very possible that a duck will shoot the pelican (not knowing who is pelican) only to be immediately outed by geese who pop out of the body and report. Not leaving bodies behind after a kill is also very powerful, and can make it harder to catch a pelican.

Of course, counters to this do exist. Ducks can call meetings to reset the Pelican if a round goes too long and they're concerned about the Pelican exploding geese all over them. Especially if there is a Pigeon so they can say their button call was a pigeon reset.

All of that in mind, I haven't see it in practice a whole lot. This means my concerns are mere suspicions with nothing backing them up. Maybe I'm wrong.

Although what I'd be really interested in seeing would be statistics. Win rates. We've talked about how the Pelican mechanics of not leaving a body behind makes it more powerful than a falcon, well, I wonder what the win rates are for Falcons in games of various sizes? I feel like Falcons have a much harder time in large lobbies, which would make it logical to make a version of the Falcon like the Pelican which is stronger for those larger lobbies. Of course, you can turn it off in smaller lobbies.
