The game will not end while falcon is alive if the last goose or duck is eliminated. If the falcon lives until the timer reaches 0, it's a falcon win even if it's 2 ducks vs 1 falcon.

Teleporter sabotage. I don't know the duration or odds of survival, but when tele gets sabbed, for the next few seconds there is a chance that anyone that uses it fizzles out of existance.

Last I'd seen the teleporter sabotage, there was a spot to see the safe meter on the device. Safe meant you were safe, low meant there was a slim chance of dying, medium meant there was a decent chance, and high meant that you pretty much are gonna die if you take it.

As soon as it's ready! The gaggle team develop quickly, and we release patches fairly often. We don't often give out firm dates because it's either going to be a lie if we're wrong, or it'll be a rushed product that might sacrifice quality for speed. This could translate into releasing something without sufficient testing and creating lots of bugs for the game.

If you find none of that explanation sufficient, as Herbert always says, today we are one day closer than yesterday.

The game ends when a victory condition is met. For geese that's voting out or killing all the ducks and the falcon. For the pigeon that's sneezing on everybody. For vulture, that's eating enough bodies. For falcon, that's surviving until the falcon timer ends which first requires triggering the timer.

The ✅ will guarantee that the role is available to be assigned to players. The ? means there’s a 50% chance of it being available to be assigned. If you have more ✅ than players in your lobby then all should have a special role. If you have all roles as ?, then there is likely that you will have a lot of plain geese or plain ducks in your game. —— if you want all players to have a role other than plain geese/ducks then click on enough ✅ on for at least the number of players in your lobby

You’re welcome. It can be fun to play with some roles turned to ? as it adds to the deduction. Eg Canadian = ? - there is a chance that someone is self reporting a kill. Or they are not … etc —- there are so many combinations to play with! In full lobbies I like to select three neutrals and then turn all neutral roles to ✅ so you don’t know immediately if there is a dodo, pigeon, vulture or falcon missing from the game ….

If you are playing in public games, you can only talk in the lobby and in meetings. This is to protect little goslings from being spoken to while alone on the map. —- in private games proximity (in-play) chat is turned on by default but there is an option for the lobby host to turn it off.

Swap their role with another’s, turn them to flashlight mode, have them auto report the next body (no matter who kills it), spawn an npc hitman duck chasing after them at 0.5 speed, terrible chronic flatulence.

Public lobbies are different in that players don't necessarily know the people in the game they are joining into. Kids might enter a game and can be harassed by others in some corner of the map if proximity chat is on. If someone is being rude or toxic in a meeting, everyone can hear it and can block their mics and block them.

So why don't we just separate servers into kids and 18+? Because a 12 year old can check off a box that says they are 18, and we'd rather prevent the potential abuse and toxicity.

If you want proximity chat, make a private game. If you need players, find a private game in the #lfg channels or make your own.

I prefer playing in both public lobbies. The people make it fun not the settings. Proxy chat helps people continuously develop their story and as a result helps us make stronger bonds with the people we play with. After all thats everything we stand for as a developer. The cons are obvious, difficult to game design and balance. 16 players, 2 ducks one mimic, 3 neutrals.

Groups that play to just have fun and don't care about winning. People sometimes rush off from one game to the next if they die. I think they're missing the point of slowing down and just chatting and hanging out.

These are the better groups. Game to game dynamics are really important.

I've probably had some really bad proxy chat experiences, such as a falcon telling a gravy goose their role, and promising protection all round, so they gravy goose helped falcon win the entire game (for the pathetic 'prize' of +5 silver coins). Immediately left that discord, because nobody could counter-play that kind of strategy.

That's a viable strat but wouldn't work long with a group that wanted to stop it.

Absolutely agree. People leaving is the #1 thing I hate about pub lobbies. I've found pub voice lobbies to be absolutely toxic and unbearable (even had one lobby that was massively sexist to every girl that joined). Voiceless ones are better, but you still deal with 'dying' lobbies as people leave.

I've had good public games, and bad public games, good private games, and bad private games. It really is finding the balance you like. The same group of people getting different roles each game will change the dynamic each and every time. There is no consistency.

If you want to experience a group, let me know - i can suggest lobbies, which are usually accepting of a non-mic player, if you do not wish to chat in proximity.

Duck roles are REALLY powerful. Even without roles (say, adding private imp chat to Among Us), that kind of chat would be seriously game-changing (coordinating locations/kills/plans). For GGD, let's say you have roles off, but you tell the other ducks on Goosechapel that you're morphling and can watch for incoming groups. So they both head in to tavern and kill (1 or 2), then wait for cooldowns.
Meanwhile, you steal a feather, and wait just far enough inside tavern that people can't see you from outside, but you can see in. If anyone comes, you shift, run out, and kill them. If anyone sees you, they don't know who you really were. If it is only 1 person, you make your escape, and the bodies in the tavern stay hidden.
And if nobody comes to tavern, your buddies show back up with kills ready again, and everyone heads off to get kills (or proxy chat to make new plans)

Similarly, being able to discuss how to catch/kill the vulture is equally strong - and with no chance of being overheard, there's zero risk.

Every other role is equally powerful with that feature. A spy can assign targets, or let the snitch know best people to lock up. Or make sure the professional kills the canadian. A professional can make sure to warn the other ducks to stay away.

And how would it all work with a Mimic in the game too? If mimic can't join the chat, the mimic would be detected instantly. If the mimic is in the chat, then they instantly know who the ducks are (instead of having to figure it out). Round 1 "Hey everyone, I'm the mimic, Steve, Frank, and Lisa are ducks. It's fine if you don't believe me yet, but remember that info."

Whenever I'm professional, I prefer to leave the Canadian alive and warn my duck partners not to kill them because it's beneficial usually. At some point a falcon, sheriff or vigilante will fail for me and the geese will vote them out.

Even anonymized, it'd be full of problems. If you're the only one that can't see who is talking, you have to be very careful what you say. And if I had a mimic in the game, I'd just ask each duck who they thought should be our first 2 kills, and no repeats. Assuming 12-14 players left, the ducks can't get caught by this - only the mimic has a chance of picking a duck's color.

It's just an idea that invalidates large parts of the game, massively changes the game's overall balance, and has dozens of complications that would make it difficult to implement in a balanced manner.

for example once a light or reactor or poison water or closed doors sabotage has set off you open your map and you see a circle you'll see where and who set the sab

but you'll see in the circle so you have to hope someone IS in the circle

Quite late, but the answer is yes. Tech can see where ghosts sabotage, but don't know whether or not it was a ghost. This is why if I am dead as the duck, I call sabs on top of other geese.

We're nothing like them at this point. We're a game built around voice chat, they are not really. We firmly believe that talking is a critical part of social deduction. Proximity chat was important for us to have in our game.

There are two kinds of very young players in ggd. The nice and chill kind with a normal voice and knows how the game works and then there's the literal baby with a 200dB mic that gets them and/or someone else killed with little reason

We have a solution to this

our upcoming patch includes an opening statement feature for public lobbies

the first 10s of every meeting is dedicated to the person who called the meeting

no ifs ands or buts

that would be wonderful. and maybe the hosts of the game lobbies could adjust it if they needed to? (like the other meeting timers)

cause some players do tend to take a bit longer to speak than other players. so having the ability to adjust that timer too would be a good idea

As soon as it's ready! The gaggle team develop quickly, and we release patches fairly often. We don't often give out firm dates because it's either going to be a lie if we're wrong, or it'll be a rushed product that might sacrifice quality for speed. This could translate into releasing something without sufficient testing and creating lots of bugs for the game.
