Yep I knew about that one. Found out the most "alarming" way with someone going "who wants to be flushed?" and 3-4 people going "me me me!" it was.... bizarre to say the least.

What you do is convince one or two people to play a game of chicken with the shuttle. As soon as one person fails, you kill the other and quickly escape the platform, leaving their body to be smushed and you hopefully exiting the platform in time with a valid excuse as to how the Canadian died

As soon as it's ready! The gaggle team develop quickly, and we release patches fairly often. We don't often give out firm dates because it's either going to be a lie if we're wrong, or it'll be a rushed product that might sacrifice quality for speed. This could translate into releasing something without sufficient testing and creating lots of bugs for the game.

If you find none of that explanation sufficient, as Herbert always says, today we are one day closer than yesterday.

New maps often come with new roles. I believe the devs are leaning towards map-specific roles since it's kind of a bit easier to make a role that works on this one map rather than new roles that work everywhere.

For example, look at Desert Sands with the Street Urchin and the Warlock. These are interesting roles for sure, but they're intended just for Desert Sands. They won't make sense on, say, Bloodhaven which doesn't have doors, or Eagleton where you can't really pick what doors to close or when.

Sometimes a new role actually works okay on other maps. The Adventurer was originally made for Jungle Temple, but turned out to be a pretty good fit on a number of other maps. Pelican was originally only on the Basement, but it slowly got added to other maps.

This also makes those roles kind of extra special. Drone is only available on Eagleton, which makes it special and unique just for that. It leans hard into the theme of Eagleton and helps to enhance that map by focusing on the lore and theme of that map, rather than trying to generically fit in everywhere.

This is evidence of just how much thought and care goes into introducing new content. It would be pretty easy to just churn out "stuff" that is okay. But "okay" isn't good enough. It's meant to be something enjoyable that keeps the game fresh and interesting.

the reason why i push for more map specific roles

is that if you have new players they do not need to simultaneously know all 50+ roles

they have a meta of specific roles they need to learn, some of which will apply to other maps as well

Yeah, I get why people think "A duck that can transform into a monster form that makes them unidentifiable but obviously bad" could work on other maps. It totally could. And maybe at some point it'll be opened up to other maps, I could see it working on the space maps.

But. There are advantages to making it and other roles map specific, too.

I have to say, Herbert makes a really good point as well. It's easy as an experienced player who understands all the existing roles to look at the one new thing and slot that into our brains as a new thing. But to a new player who has to learn everything all at once... Each "one more thing" is adding to a pile that eventually becomes overwhelming, overcomplicated, and frustrating.

In regards to alternative accounts, there are certain factors that play into if it's acceptable or not. For the sake of TOS, alt accounts that are used for griefing , or ban evasion are not permissible. Having multiple alt accounts does not automatically mean they are used for malicious intent.

One last play I made that I am very proud of wasn't a gaslight, but I won the game by myself as vigi. I am with 2 people and I get a bomb. I think to myself "okay, one of these 2 people are the demo. If I pass the bomb to one and then vigi kill the other, that guarentees that demo is dead" I pass the bomb last second to one person and kill the other person. Turns out they were both ducks and the game ends instantly in a goose win.

This was a more recent match and it happened in sands.

I've been in lots of games where I get random shot by the geese. The trick is to shoot them all before they can shoot you.

Or, you convince them to shoot someone else. A Vig is going to be confidant that they shot a duck (or neutral) even if you convince them to shoot another goose. And a Sheriff is a great way to get 2 birds with one shot. And it's not even your shot!

Then, Radio, Elec, n Diner then fill in (But don't forget that diner can never appear w arcade bc they r toilet sabs)

Which gives us only 4 sabo combos: {School, Arcade, Electrical, Radio}, {Sheriff, Lab, School, Arcade}, {Sheriff, Lab, Diner, Radio}, n {Sheriff, Lab, Diner, Electrical}

I feel like the bell can cause a lot of chaos in the early game when there are lots of geese and few ideas on who the ducks might be, but the early game also makes it fairly easy for someone to find the bell. It only works out for the ducks if a duck finds it first, and manages to grab it without a goose spotting them doing it.

I have seen ducks get voted out because they were caught grabbing the bell and the sab doesn't end. But I've also seen geese voted out when clever ducks went "Wait, why didn't the sab end? I thought I saw [name here] pick up the bell? Isn't that supposed to stop this?"

So, there are a couple things to keep in mind if you want to be a beta tester.

One of the most critical qualities they look for in beta testers is "Ability to follow directions". When targeted testing is happening, people messing around and doing their own thing can waste everyone's time.

So with that in mind, it is SUPER IMPORTANT to make sure your first impression is not "I am ignoring the normal recruitment process and doing my own thing". When they open recruiting, they will make a post about it. Follow whatever directions and process they ask. Do not DM any Gaggle staff unless you're specifically asked to do so.

Yes we do. We found lots of bugs on Eagleton Springs before it released. That's part of making sure that it's "ready" for when they actually release the map. Some bugs slip through, but many of them get caught in beta. Testers also provide feedback to improve aspects of the gameplay, visuals, and audio.

I generally try to eliminate the lover duck in my team if I catch on to the fact that they are a lover. Many lover ducks will eventually betray their team for a lover win.

Escpecially if there is a mimic and ducks can directly kill other ducks
