I just want to give a brief insight. "I can't moderate a language I don't speak" is said often in a streamer's channel I'm in. Yes, Google translate takes all of 15 seconds. (That argument falls apart when you say "15 seconds to translate into english before sending then") But Google translate lacks the nuances of languages. Google translate can't handle slang or even a typo sometimes. In that streamer's server we've had multiple instances of someone saying something that Google translate says is perfectly reasonable and harmless. Only for a native speaker to, later on when they see the message, say it's actually about violence or racism.

I'm not here to dogpile on you or chastise. Just trying to help explain why places have the rule. It sucks, but is necessary.

To add to this conversation: I played a game that used auto translation in their chat and we had a whole big mess trying to figure out if someone had actually used the equivalent of the n-word in their native language, or if it was the fault of the translation like the person claimed.
On their discord they had dedicated channels for like 3 or 5 other languages, that at least one mod actually spoke. But whenever that moderator stepped down, they closed the channel.
