It's the base of the house. Cottage A and B are both the 'base' for the homelines. Then build around it.

Yeah, that's what they'll show as. When you put it down and complete the build it'll show as the actual house with the front door etc. It's just with the homelines it's all the same 'room' that you build upon.

Syncing to friends limits the number of servers the host can hop to. Relogging will stick you on friend's servers. Traveling to a different map and back will also stick you on friend's servers.

Hence the need for a dedicated server switch button that does NOT rely on hopping to a friend's server- even with a cooldown, it just makes sense.

Imagine if you could switch regions without having to use a VPN or hop to a friend?

you can have as many pets of the specific handler license, but you can have only one as a follower pet at a time if thats what you mean

so for example, if you have a peki handler license and you have many pekis, you can only choose one of them to be your pet at a time, you cant just have multiple pekis roaming around with you at all times

You can get lilacs and bushes from the Pixie Pop in Elderwood and other flowers and trees from the "bloom" in Kilima.

If you wait at the fairgrounds without leaving, the game sends fewer players to that specific fairground server every round. So if you stay at one fairground for long enough, you should hopefully be able to have a round without too much competition

Also, while you can't hurt the chapaas with regular arrows, they are still slowed by slowdown arrows. I got 20 when some older players organised and stood at lookout points and shot as many chapaas as they could with slowdown arrows. I think they were organised for someone else but it was a blessing!

If you chop early you can get to another server that may not have had the Grove chopped yet giving you double the amount of wood approximately. Personally I find it stupid. Far more experienced players have a surplus of flowood and are willing to give it away if they would only ask.

Personally if I find early choppers I just blocked them on the game. For their small bit of uncivilized behavior they never get my call outs again

@grim lotus I agree. I will usually find the Grove because I want these special bug that always shows up at a grove. I hit each tree once and then go hunt and mine. I try to be back by 3:00 a.m. to help in The chopping, but I ran an experiment and know that chopped wood will stay around for one game hour, as long as you hit it at least once.

We're still getting expansions on the main storyline from time to time, while the last one was quite a while ago in june, there hasn't been any mention of the story being complete.

they are working on the next adventure zone which will introduce more main story and before its release we will also get the continuation of elderwood, times in between main story patches are just really long

The last Palia Path video https://palia.com/news/palia-path-winter-2025 said that Ulfe's friendship would be added after the second part of the Elderwood - so while I don't think it'll be in the next/March 2026 patch I do think it'll be within a few after that.

As far as the next major update; the June 2025 Palia Path video https://palia.com/news/palia-path-roadmap-summer-2025 said they had just started planning the new adventure zone and the following https://palia.com/news/palia-path-roadmap-fall-2025 showed a player running through the basic topography with probably a placeholder texture.

The mentioned "late spring expansion" could be the rest of the elderwood - we know there's more area to explore still - or the new adventure zone if they've pulled off a miracle going from 0 to done in 9months.

There isn't a roadmap/timeline quite like most expect, but we do get bits and pieces from s6 in various news posts #💬│palia-discussions message

Tips for Collecting Essence

• Upgrade your Relics to Tier IV as soon as possible!
• Party up! When in a party, Relic buffs are shared with other party members even if they do not have that Relic equipped. It is suggested that party members each equip different Relics in order to combine multiple effects.
• Drop a Honey Lure and catch as many infected critters as you can (ideally in a party). A4 on the map grid is reported to be a great spot for lures!

do be warned, the snowball vfx can cause a flashbang like effect, not exactly like what you would think in other fps games but enough that it can trigger photosensitivity issues if you throw them at people

Out of curiosity, do you guys think that the Devs would ever consider making glitching a "feature" so to speak? We use glitches to make items float and sink but that's something you can do in the Sims through "cheats" as well - just much more intuitively via the use of number keys. Quick report from yesterday’s "very cozy" Food Party on MariscaBR’s housing plot with 24 players. Mid-event we got THE message saying the server was shutting down and we had to migrate. What followed was peak “comfort gameplay”: people got scattered across different servers, the host’s server kept showing FULL, and we spent ~40 minutes trying (and failing) to get the same group back together. We only resumed around 03:09:34 on the VOD — and only because 3 people gave up.
VOD for reference on MariscaBR channel on Twitch. (02:34:42 = shutdown notice). Has anyone else been hit by forced server shutdowns/migrations during events? This really irritates me, because I like to play games to relax and have fun, and yesterday was anything but relaxing and fun.

There's no set time for when servers shut down, but S6 sent out a recommendation to use a server that's <2h old for parties and similar activities.

That wouldn't have helped us at that moment. When the party started, we were all on the same server;, all 24 players, none of us needed to migrate to join the party. In other words, we didn't have the option of choosing which server was the youngest, because we were all on a single server.

Usually, leaving the area and going, say, from your plot to Kilima and returning should change servers. I agree it's not easy, especially to get the entire group on there, but currently we don't have a better method as far as I can tell.

Host could use their friend list to try to migrate to another, or one of host's friends use their friend list. Leaving the plot and coming back often will put you back in the same one if you have a bunch of friends on it.

It certainly complicates large party events.

I stopped hosting b/c I didn't want to deal with it.

We're looking into ways to help improve the experience, but yeah, as it currently stands - we recommend folks to migrate to the server that is the youngest from their friends list for larger scale events like cooking parties.

Would it be possible to do set times throughout the day? So if servers deteriorate at roughly 5 hours, have them update at set times PST, so players know to expect it and can plan large parties appropriately? Large parties are often planned several days in advance, so it wouldn't be a surprise like it is with the server refresh random.

Might be worth a pitch. As is, small parties can make the adjustment easily, but it's large parties that are dealing with the need to server hunt.

What happened here, however, created the opposite outcome for a large social gathering, and it left many of us feeling disappointed and let down—especially in a game that positions itself as “cozy” and community‑friendly.

Below are my questions, framed specifically around how Server Merge is intended to function versus what we experienced:

1. Group/instance cohesion during merges

When a server shutdown/migration happens, is there an intended mechanism to keep players who are already together (same housing plot / same event) in the same instance? If so, why would a plot event with 24 players be split across multiple instances?

2. “Server full” behavior after a forced migration

Why would the destination instance for the host’s plot repeatedly display FULL while we were attempting to reunite the same participants who were already there pre‑merge?

Is “FULL” reflecting a temporary cap during the merge process?
Is it possible the system creates multiple parallel instances and then blocks rejoin to the “correct” one?
3) Transparent limits for large housing events
Are there known limits for housing plot gatherings (or known merge-related constraints) that players should be aware of? If there is a practical cap, can it be surfaced clearly in‑game so that community hosts don’t invest time into events that the system can’t reliably support?

4. Stability goals vs. community impact
   If Server Merge is meant to improve stability and reduce disruption, how is the system evaluated in cases where it causes extended downtime for organized social play (in our case, ~40 minutes and multiple players forced to quit trying)?

5. Off‑peak merging criteria
   If merges are expected to happen in lower-impact windows, what criteria define that timing? A housing plot with 24 active players is clearly a live community activity—why would this scenario be interrupted rather than protected?

6. Workarounds or best practices
   Is there any official guidance for hosting large plot events in a way that reduces the risk of instance fragmentation during merges (party settings, entry order, limiting visitors, etc.)? If no workaround exists, can one be provided until a more robust solution is implemented?

7. Minimum guarantees for “cozy” social gameplay
   Can the team confirm whether there are plans to ensure that, when a merge occurs during a housing plot event, at least one of the following is true:

the host + visitors migrate together, or
players have a reliable way to rejoin the same event instance without being blocked by misleading “FULL” messages?
I’m sayng this because community events are a big part of what makes Palia special—and this incident made the game feel anything but cozy. I’d like to know of whether this is a known issue and whether improvements to merge behavior for housing events are planned.

Yes! For me, I almost exclusively get server merges on my home plot, rarely in one of the villages. It's usually 5.5 hours when I am getting the server merge request. My longest to date was a 7.5 hr server, and my second longest was a 6.5 hour server. 5.5 hrs is definitely the "average" for me too when I get merge requests.

There's a bit of a precedent for this, not necessarily in this game but others. Though you could make the argument that they saw the market in customisable bins and mailboxes, seeing people decorating theirs, and released skins for those. Sure it's a bit of a stretch but considering how much people can spend on cosmetics and want more "customisation"

It would definitely still raise some eyebrows if they did it though. I can see people being upset if it's done this way. Personally at that point, I'd rather set up my own Minecraft server but that's just me.

What I disagree with is that they need to "create" a problem (because this problem had already been solved) and then "solve" it as a premium feature.
Of course, there is the possibility that the previous solution was too expensive to maintain, and that may be the reason they brought back these merge system. It's a possibility. But all of this is just "conspiracy theory".

Oh I agree. Private servers have been a long time request, and it would solve a lot of conflicts arising from server takeovers for plushies, cooking parties, as well as other issues.

I think the biggest issue is that it's clear the servers are not very stable and this was likely the best they could come up with to meet players "in the middle" so to speak and this was the most cost effective solution? I don't know though, like you said, this is all speculation. If they did monetise on private servers, I can see it being very divisive, I wouldn't be necessarily against it myself but it'd be a bit controversial.

Okay just a small rant I really don't like the Furniture crafting skill. Unlike any other skill there is no real reward for getting it leveled up and it just takes focus away. All other skills let you get money or even food to boost the focus back up but because you can't sell the Furniture you just hoard them. Unless You like Decorating or you are going for all achievements there is no reason to get it higher. If you could sell the stuff to Tish then I think it would be worth it.

It takes so much focus and resources that could be used elsewhere. I need the renown currently so I've been getting it where I can. Still wish we could sell or at least recycle furniture we don't use. Honestly would be nice to have a recycle feature get back some if not all of the rescources we used in crafting the furniture.

Unsure, though it might just be players have completed their stamps and therefore aren't shooting them as often, I had to turn down my SFX completely cause they were so loud.

There was an exploit with fireworks in the UG that was potentially seizure inducing for players, so that was fixed (unsure if this means fireworks were disabled altogether in the UG or if only the exploit was fixed).

So I’m having a problem completing the Lost and Found quest where you return the book to Auni. I have the book and Auni and Naio are both in the Elderwood near Jeunesse Pass. Once I pick my outfit, I step out of wardrobe, assign any pets, nameplates, toolskins and then go back into wardrobe and save the outfit. It doesn't have a slot showing them, but they are sticky to it.

I can show you ingame, but there's nothing to show with a screenshot.

The trick is to make sure not to save the outfit until after you've done all those steps.. and to remember that it will inherit from whatever 'outfit' you started from. When I was new I couldn't figure out why all my toolskins kept swapping around and it was because of that. Took me forever to clean them off each outfit.

It did not want to count the one I got, even through traveling and restarting my game. It only regiatered after I collected the other item in my dailies, then the game was like -Oh you DO have a dari, let me count that for you.

IMHO (especially if they are going to do longer patch cycles) they need to up the number of rerolls, especially if they are going to throw in Dari, and Duskwings- I say this as a level 8201 player- it's inconvenient for me to get these items for dailies so it's definitely not fair to ask that of newer players.

Totally agree coming from another high level player. Had this one quite a few times, today as well, and not only is it one per server but they also only spawn in every 30 mins. So if no one bothers to call it out, or if ones just despawned just before you came into that server you either have to wait another 30 mins to find one or server hop and pray. Way too time consuming for a daily imo.

i realize that decor does not take up space in the storage chests
but they have no worth
i made all the items of a couple of sets, but i have nothing to do with them except for just let it sit in the storage
i dont like the clutter, and a part of me doubts that i'll use every single one i've crafted, so i just ended up "deleting" them

If you have a lockbox, you can put the items that you don't need in there. I know that doesn't solve the issue, but figured it could still be useful info as it'd at least not be visible. If I remember correctly, Tish likes all the furniture items as gifts, too. Some people have plots where they just put all their furniture so it doesn't clutter their storage.

im really used to storage management that you'll see in survival games.
where each chest will individually have something that you put in it.
so the lockbox, at the moment, for me is used for things i particularly want to put seperate.

When the game was first released, S6 was releasing patches twice a month. Then in January 2024, they switched to a monthly schedule. Since then, they've only skipped 2 months: Feb 2024 (although March had 2 patches) and April 2025 (they held it to do more work on bug fixes).

Furniture does not take up storage space. However, you can use them to decorate, gift them to Tish, or you can trash them. There is no way to obtain them again if you give them away or trash them, so keep that in mind!

You are able to upgrade your chests by purchasing the crafting recipes in the furniture store that’s located in Kilima Village at the register just in case you didn’t know. I personally hold onto about 30 of each crop in case I need them for quests or just general cooking.

add a fashion guild for Jel where we can craft clothing from different recipe sets on a new crafter, the sewing machine

I started playing Palia alone in October 2023. At first, I only played a little and mainly with international players. It was just casual gaming. Until, six months later, I met a couple of Finnish players, like myself. They invited me to join their guild and Discord server. I had never used Discord before, but for some reason I decided to give it a try. Luckily, I did.
After some initial shyness, we spent dozens of hours together on voice calls, cooking, hunting, chasing butterflies, and mining minerals. I even dared to join the Palian Official channel and became interested in glitching (hi decor channel! :D). I made glitching friends! I met incredible glitching masters! Suddenly, I found myself making videos about glitching with help of others. Players could recognize me on the server, saying, "Hey hätähousu, the glitcher!" It was funny.

Everything was so nice. We even started another, more intimate community on Discord with the Finns. Playing together was so much fun that we decided to meet up in the summer of 2025. Luckily, we did meet up. I finally got to meet Mira, who had been confined to a wheelchair due to some unfortunate events, but boy did she have a spirited attitude towards life! (And she was an incredibly good CoD player. A great shooter player in general. So good, in fact, that people accused her of cheating.) I also got to meet her new Labrador retriever assistance dog. What an unbeatable duo. ( Last year Mira also crocheted some leg warmers for me, because I'm always cold. She also crocheted me a cute keyring bunny without me even asking. It's sitting here on my gaming table right now, staring at me. It's so cute <3).

Mira had good times and bad times due to her illness. Yet, out of the blue, in December 2025, Mira passed away, overcome by her illness. We were both in our thirties, and it felt particularly unfair. It also left me with an empty feeling. The familiar voice from our voice calls was gone. Our gaming buddy was gone.
Fortunately, the community is strong, and we were able to support each other in dealing with the issue.

I want to thank Palia for bringing people together. The community is unique, and the atmosphere is tolerant and warm at its best. I hope it stays that way.
I now have many new friends, both inside and outside the game. And forever memories.

I hope the game stays vibrant and keeps evolving. Lately, I haven't been playing at all. I've achieved everything there is to achieve.

Still, this game means a lot to me.

First of all im sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing your story with us, Its beautiful and tragic at the same time 😔 im an introvert i dont people well and have 0 friends irl (many acquaintance but no friends because I find it hard to trust or let anyone close enough) through these groups I've met some incredible people and a couple I can honestly call a friend. It's amazing what a gaming community can do. Palia is one of the most laid back and friendly environments that everyone needs in the times that we live in. It would be interesting if the romance system were even deeper and more meaningful, such as:

Marriage in the game
It would be wonderful if, after progressing significantly in the romance with a character, we could get married. This could include a small ceremony, a special quest, or even an event with the townspeople. Marriage would make the relationship with the characters feel more complete and lasting.

Having children or starting a family would also be interesting. The children could grow up gradually, help with small household chores, or simply make our home feel more alive. This would fit very well with the game's relaxed lifestyle.

And Relationships with more than one character
Something else that could be interesting is allowing more open or multiple relationships, since currently the game doesn't penalize having multiple romances. For example, being able to maintain a relationship with characters like Nai'o or Hassian simultaneously, and having the game recognize it as part of the player's story.

Creating Emotional Reactions from Characters
It would be fun and realistic if the characters reacted more to our romantic decisions. For example, moments where they compete for the player's attention and
dialogues where they express a touch of jealousy, but without becoming negative.

That'd be planning really far ahead to have all that so just a Bahari province map for now would be lovely - having kilima village on a large lake, bahari bay, bahari city, elderwood which is also on a bay and coast, and more we haven't seen yet (like Harvest Meadows) makes it seem like Barhari is BIG

in this specific case it does feel disjointed or incomplete with some NPCs at level 4 and others at level 5, which lead to the conversation on how they prioritize areas of the game and specific NPCs. IMO if they were all at the same multiple of 10 it'd have that feeling of "done (for now)" with how we like those numbers and consistency

100% I feel like too often smaller companies feel like they'll lose too many folks if they step back and focus on things like bugs, ui updates and memory type issues so they just keep getting pushed to the side, or have one guy desperately trying to shove a few in every release while the rest of the team makes more bugs 😛

On the other hand, I've also seen smaller teams where honestly, they just couldn't.. they hit their knowledge/ability cap and that level of fixing just wasn't something they had the ability to do. The fear there is bringing in someone new messes up the team or costs too much for the team to afford.

They really need a large QOL and accessibility patch. They can open the market for a long period of time like they have for LNY. There are events like the starstone event, soup event, etc that they can do to keep people busy.

There's just no reason that someone is unable to complete MSQ because of accessibility and have it be an ongoing issue. Being able to do all the content and play longer would mean they're more likely to toss a few $ at the game.

Well, I don't think it's like Daybreak/EG7 couldn't put money /resources into it, after all, that's one of the main points for an acquisition. A parent company with larger capital and resources can indeed help with that.

Giving players an option to skip the puzzles or better orientation would help. The map is known to induce motion sickness or vertigo for many players. It also relies a lot on platforming and jumping from what I recall and that can be tough on players with mobility issues.

(i don't have specifics handy, so i'm going on memory)
Folks have asked for a more functional map and directions because it's especially easy to get lost/turned around in there.

Fair. I think a good Balance to keep the Puzzle access while also making it accessible would be to make The Vents teleporters. You still get the Sense of Discovery without having to deal with the motion sickness.

In the Temple of the Roots we see some alternate pathing - hints or skipping a section if you fall x times, rescue vines/lattice, literal multiple paths through the large spaces - so the ask is for that to be added to Flames, Gales, and Waves too with the priority being Gales since it's currently the biggest MSQ blocker.

As someone with my specific visual disabilities my biggest issue with gales is mapping the space. I literally can't tell where I've been or where I'm going. In general, Palia is the most confusing game for me from a mapping perspective. Being able to pin the map helps, but I still go the wrong way in the center of Kilima town all the time because I can't tell things apart easily. Its confusing to me why, because I don't have this issue in other games, I can only assume its because of the visual 'sameness' of the environment. Which is odd considering I function just fine without a map in games like minecraft because I know which tree to turn at, etc.

It's such a hard thing to share 'enough' without sharing too much. How much lore was already in place before they started building 'the game' .. is there some person with a map of the world roughed out in a simple pencil sketch even leading the charge or are they just winging it as long as they have interest from the community 🤷‍♀️

and of course it's always rolling work - the story and design teams are often working on something different then engineering and qa so yes even though march - june was heavy elderwood for the last impelementations, testing, bug fixes, issue response, and community/marketing/comms but story and design were probably already on to the next thing

Gotta step on getting through the main quests. I'm in the minority. I don't care about the relationship aspects. It was one of the big turnoffs of Stardew Valley next to time management. I'm aro so the romance and relationship aspect is of zero interest. World building I'm all in tho.
