You can also get them from the lucky coins that Zeki gives you, but that's pure RNG. So you can get some either from the quest i mentioned or from gardening 10+ with skill medals

tbh their stance on "no earnable cosmetics, period" is what made me decide never to spend another cent until they change course
I can understand putting fancy elaborate outfits in the cash shop. I have no issue with that. They do need to make money, I'm just not chill with every single non-default cosmetic, period being monetized.
But denying people ANY sense of visual progression on their character, especially in regards to skills... well, to make a comparison.
It's like denying a knight the ability to wear armor. It's like denying a wizard the ability to wear wizard robes. It's the equivalent of forcing the hero who saved the world to wear the same rags they started their journey with. (unless you open your wallet, I guess.)

In any other game the Maji Market would have been a much shorter duration event, a week tops so to give people a chance to play it, but S6 gave us the Chapaa Chase grind once again trying to fool us into believing repetitive tasks and quests = content. There just isn't much to do in Palia as far as content and gameplay and most of the "new" stuff we're getting is just reworks of already current gameplay. There is so much potential to this game but I don't know if we're ever going to see it.

are we going to have a new set of materials every 2-3 zones? are 3 zones (spoiler: ||next zone is a mushroom forest||) the entirety of this "classic" version of palia and the rest will be expansions?
are we going to get other villages with other plots of there's more than 3 zones?

there is basically no info on what is coming beyond small features or adding content to existing features, we have no overview of what the whole game content/story is whatsoever and that worries me.

I feel like it's not really the amount of content that's the issue, it's the type of content they are making

Currently, there are enough quests, upgrades, collectibles, etc in the game to get ~4-6 months of playtime from a casual player. Of course, those who play more will finish it much faster, but we have to look at the average here i feel like

But the main issue is that all of that content can be finished. Once you do a quest, you'll never see it again. Once you get an upgrade, you don't have to worry about it anymore. All of these are things that can be finished, which would be okay by itself

However, right now there is nothing else to do in the game that isn't part of the overall grind. There is nothing to take your mind off of it, nothing to do with friends, nothing to do in large groups (except cake), and nothing that keeps people playing after they are done with the gold/renown grind

And yet, they keep adding one-time stuff for the game, which while it's great, it probably shouldn't be the focus. Maybe this changes a little after the switch release, but that's just speculation on my part

It is very hard to kill. I dont know the mechanics around it or I'm just missing every time? I have no clue. They really made it that you basically need 2 people. It's really hard with people, I can only imagine alone. I too have found great people but shtty ones as well. I can't deal with people calling out for flow tree or palium ore and i run off for it to be cut down. Some of them say its already cut, some don't even answer. They really be wasting my time and that really sucks because I always wait for everybody.. oh well

I was speaking with a friend earlier telling her like if u just wanna cut it down and not say anything, that's fine. Like you don't have time to wait. Muujin are actually little dirty cheaters. Nailed one with dispel as soon as it came out and saw it just teleport 30 meters ahead with no animation, sign, sound etc. I thought their superpower was just invisibility but apparently they have a better teleport than sernuk that dispel arrow doesnt do anything against

not sure why people are complaining about the new animal. i was able to kill all variants in an hour, and none of my friends have had any issues. also, not EVERYTHING in the game should be easy. otherwise, it gets super boring without anything to do and if literally everything is obtainable with zero effort.. i’ve also had zero toxicity surrounding flow groves. i think people who have bad experiences are far more vocal than ones with good ones. no community or game is perfect, and not only is this game free, but it’s in beta… AND they are actively patching bugs every 2 weeks, which is more often than many early access/ beta games. the accomplishment bug is annoying for sure tho! i’ve dealt with a handful of bugs, but it’s not like we aren’t aware that that’s a possibility - nor is it like the developers are straight up ignoring them. the patch notes are very thorough.

the teleporting muuji is a tiny bit more difficult than the white deer thing, but i think that’s to be expected? most games have animals that difficult level vary? it makes sense for some animals to be a bit more challenging. i was in a group of 3 who found one, and killed it in like maybe 2 minutes. as for groves, it’s definitely annoying when people don’t wait, but personally that’s never happened to me…. and i’ve been playing FAR TOO MUCH haha (like 10 hours everyday). i think you’ve been getting unlucky :( im sorry.

Question for people in favour of personal nodes. Im looking into the ways personal nodes are exectued in other games. Apart from genshin impact, guild wars 2 and final fantasy 14 what are other mmos with a good personal node system, preferably ones i can try out and get a feel for or otherwise, with an expanation of how it works if not like one of tbe above.

I decided to put my frustration into another bookwork.

Albion is also a full loot pvp mmo where people kill eachother if you touch their ore, so id have to give some more thought to how that translates...

I played it till i got into forced pvp zones, didnt really think it was anywhere near cozy xD

Tower of fantasy is like genshin if you wanted something like that
Change weapons instead of characters (but can use the weapon character model after you unlock it w friendship gifts)

Breath of the wild isnt an mmo though, so its hard to measure how people would react to other players playing near them, which is pretty important.

Been awhile since I played but unless they changed anything, the optional pvp doesnt effect life skill gathering nodes

Ive played tons of mmos but most tend to have competetive nodes, and those who have personal nodes either lean to genshin/gw2s once per day or ffxiv's fly in circles.

GW2's actually aren't all once per day. I think the rare/rich ores, ambient loot chests, and certain living world nodes (like jade) might be one-a-day or have a 'you can get this many per 24 hours' threshold, but apart from that things generally come back within ~20 minutes (or on map-instance change).

For Palia though, I think a similar system could work, though maybe with a speed/loot chance buff if you gather with other people nearby or in a party with you since they seem to want to encourage group doings.

Osrs is shared however rocks and trees don’t break straight away, you get multiples of ore and logs before the nodes despawn. Also OSRS added to woodcutting so now there’s benefits of having multiple people on the same tree with added tree events and quicker respawn depending on how many people chop the tree

This isn't necessarily about personal nodes, but, I actually feel it was a huge mistake on S6's part to tie the highest-earning gems to palium nodes. All it did was make people compete for palium even more than they already did, by making even players who were already done farming palium itself suddenly start camping spawn points all over again- I actually feel that the gems should have been exclusive to ordinary stone. That way, gem-miners are focused on the most common rock of all, clearing them out and making room for iron/palium/copper/etc to spawn for others who need the ores more than the gold are mining those (and clearing out the spawns so they can spawn regular rocks for the gem-hunters again).

As for flow tree groves, again, imo huge mistake on S6's part designing it the way they did. If it were my call, I would the flow groves have a low chance of spawning at any random moment, when someone cuts down a regular tree- and spawn it in the same location as that cut down tree.
Get your friends together, go on a logging spree, and get rewarded with flow groves spawning where YOU are, where you can gather them with others instead of it being a free for all for whoever sees the spawn at midnight first.

i am legit upset tish took the furniture for the quest. that's just not fair or nice. quest should have been to just make the furniture. so much flow and silk.... i could have used them for other furniture items. i really really don't like that choice that palia made for the furniture to be taken. gosh. i really wanted that furniture. and i'm still working on many furniture sets, have only finished the beginner sets . would have used my resources on ravenwood and moonstruck furniture had i known.

yea i just started the game a couple weeks ago ): i really didn't have the resources to spare but i thought the furniture looked so awesome so i didn't mind using the resources, i had to mine a bunch of iron to get pink centipedes for silk and yea it's incredibly disappointing to not keep the furniture. i had made the desk and chair first and set them up in my bedroom and they looked so cute... now i miss them .

The ingredients will load in the correct order when you make the recipe, for example on the prep station you make the ingredient at the top until a new one comes to the top and then eventually you will have done everything on the prep station. Then move to next station and so on.

it's usually a problem we have with administration D: and project managing. If you don't keep the hype going for a game, people find something else, shinier, sparkling, new. And they go to that. Then your project fails. So marketing has to keep interest and administration keeps pushing the workers (in which im included) for more content.

In my opinion it's decent. Flow farming all day is still greater than one flow groove. It might be useful if you're not really into Foraging. But if Foraging is your favorite skill, I can say it's not that hype. After all it's a guaranteed event though, who wants to skip free flow trees? Hahah. Based from my experience 1 flow groove rewards roughly 20 flow woods

Ah ok, maybe I just got bad luck then. First one today had only 2 trees (5, and 3 flow). Second grove had 4 trees and I think I got about 14 flow (I forgot to count before putting it in storage).

10 would be fab :D I have really struggled to get flow. I've done a few deforestation parties, and get some that way, but it feels so little reward for the amount of time needed. I've also done deforestation for ages and never seen a flow tree, so I think someone else was grabbing them and not saying in chat even though I said I was farming for them... So I gave up on that one eventually. I think I was hoping the groves would be more equal, like "you will always get at least 15 flow wood per grove" but it seems that's not the case

(1) I've tried for weeks to catch a void ray and/or unicorn fish. (2) Since the update, mining ore nodes no longer spawn centipedes or catapillars for silk threads, and since everybody else on the server are chasing those wolf things they scare off all the other bugs. (3) I've been somehow incapable of cooking Mushroom soup without it going bad, not enough time. I'm highly frustrated that I can no longer make requests to get help, and for a supposed MMO, the other players on the servers are more of a nuisance, unless you are harvesting Flow Trees which seems to be the only Co-operative activity in the game.

silk is very easy to acquire. It drops from all 'rare' bugs like the blue grasshoppers that spawn veerryy frequently for rare bugs. They also drop from the mantis that spawns when you forage, they drop from pink ladybugs that are very common next to the lake, they drop from the bugs that spawn when you chop wood, the amber beetles are pretty common when farming flow wood around the lighthouse and chopping orange trees, but the purple grasshoppers are really the easiest way to acquire stacks upon stacks of silk. Either drop down a honey lure next to topside entrance to Pavel mine or run around pulsewater with a buzzy jar. Silk is easy to get.

the bugs appearing out of rocks is a bit rarer though. You can buy pre-made silk from Tish, it's pricey though 580.

I like to put my cakes in the glow worm box if I am working towards catching a lot of fish but otherwise I just sell it. Not the best because I don’t look at all the mathematical implications but I still make money either way because I sell all the fertilizer and any extra When not working on fishing I straight sell the cake

I noticed very early there were TWO romance pins but I kind of always assumed one would be for the shepp and one would be for the romance; dunno why... but that's what I assumed.

Then... I recently learned you could woo two partners and be romantically involved with both!

So... first... I really would love to say thanks to the developers for taking Poly relationships even into consideration for putting it in their game cause I know that can be a hot topic for folks. But as a real life poly person I cannot get over this discovery today and I am over the moon and so happy!! ❤️‍🔥

Secondly, it always made me feel really kinda bad for being able to woo Nai'o ( or Kenyatta) when they openly state they are in a relationship and bf/gf and... I just felt really shady when I realized I had reached relationship three with Nai'o I kind of felt like I was gonna become some sort of homewrecker with those two. But... here we are and that's not a problem now! I love this and I am kind of curious if anyone shared my worries or even has a similar life as well in being poly

Iirc there used to be a channel (or thread?) here for players to specifically give positive feedback / responses to the story, the game overall, etc., But i don't see it so I suppose it was retired at some point. (Unless I imagined the whole thing?! )
