The only other solution I've found is an adapter like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Yoozon-Adapter-Converter-Thunderbolt-MacBook/dp/B0CPBH3KWN/ That would allow you to use any keyboard that has a regular usb plug. But a smaller usb-c keyboard like the first link I posted, or the smaller Switch keyboard that I also posted a link for would work as well. If you wanted to search some other websites for smaller keyboards, the search terms I used were "Travel USB-C Keyboard".

on switch the only options to type in chat are by either tapping with your fingers or using the joycons, for this reason many others have bought keyboard to solve the issue as they is currently no other way to type on palia, there is no text to speech on switch so theres only two options either tapping the letters or using the joycons

I got it on Amazon for about $30. It has a little USB key that plugs into the dock so it operates like a wireless mouse.

I’ve actually used it now and I haven’t had any trouble with using the buttons…and while it’s a little awkward to type on due to its width, it is so much better than the hunt and peck method.

So far, absolutely worth the cost. Especially if you’re playing a lot and/or active in the chat.

I may have asked this before but, anyone else on switch ...at the modification table I select an item change the color and change it. After that it makes me leave the modification menu and walk away. Then go back to it to use it again. Otherwise It will not let me select anything else. Sometimes it lets me do two before walking away. However if It's in the mood to let me it may not register the color change on the second item and will still take the modification bag from my inventory even though it did not change the color of the item.

Are the joycons paired properly? I have had this happen before. I keep clicking the controllers and they will finally pair together and I can move again. Click the trigger buttons on the top. You can ask in the server you are in. Just tell them you’re new and trying to do that quest. Usually you will get requests from players for low level items that you should have or can gather easily.

You can change servers if you want. You automatically change servers when you go from one area, like Kilima to Bahari. Some change servers if others are being rude, or to try to get to another grove.

There are sign-maps around the map where you can fast travel between them.
(Have in mind that you need to pay some gold for using it. Also the prices can vary on where you want to go.)

If you need to fast travel to your plot and can't find any sign-map/you got lost/you don't want to search to find one, just open your map with (-) and press (x).
(This option has a countdown of 30min~ to prevent players using it constantly.)

So, do I also have to take care not to use too many plots which are used with houses, furniture, deco, etc. , or is there only the risk of crashing more often if the plot I'm using right now is too fully loaded with stuff?

Am thinking about making differently themed plots with smaller houses and not so fully stuffed corners, like a "home-plot",a "museum-plot", a crafting-plot... So I don't have to have too many stuff on one plot.

Yes. I tried all 3 ports. I ended up hooking up my dock to a different TV, and it works. So it's not my dock. When I turn on my switch it recognizes it, goes to a black screen and displays a message. I've tried everything short of reseting my TV to factory which I really don't wanna do. I'm so sad...

hii, u can find a stripeshell on the beach (bahary bay) at the evening/night. and hairy millipede usually spawns in north part of bahary, usually somwhere in the forrest near tamala's house, they aren't very rare

but i think u have to have a buzzy jar receipt by default. i use a bahary crab (purple one) for made a jar bc they are easy to find and catch 🙂

The buzzy jar recipe you can get from Auni. I believe you have to be level 8 with bug catching. But I might be wrong.

Ok this is weird. Palia won't start on the main switch we have but will start up on my switch lite. I can't play this game on my lite because the text is way to small. What's the best way to try to fix this? Keep getting "unable to start software" error

Hi! I don’t know if I’m in the right thread for this but here it goes anyway.
I play on switch (obviously lol since I’m writing in here) and have SO MUCH TROUBLE hunting in Bahari. I feel like I can never one shot sernuks (or chapaas) and they run away as soon as I hit them, and can’t get them a second time before it’s too late. Maybe I’m just a really bad gamer? All I’ve played in my life is dream light valley and now Palia 😅
If you folks could give me@some tips I’d really appreciate it!

there is some settings you can ajust for movement speed when aiming that might help, and maybe investing in slow down arrows might help you

For me, hilltop hunting was the way to go. Aim slow for the head and work on upgrading the skill to make a better bow. This made all the difference for me. I wasn’t able to really hunt decent in bahari til I got the highest bow

There is no such thing as bad gamer just game preferences. 🙂 For example I play everything on easy mode as I want to have fun and not get frustrated. Better bow and arrows will make more damage. When sernuk was hit and is running away just let them. They will calm dawn after a while and you can hit them second time. I noticed that if I got the first shot and another player will make the second one even later in time, we both will get the resources.

Sometimes even if you lose track of them you might hit the next with one shot and get loot. I think they run off and respawn without regenerating health so you can sometimes one shot them. I’ve gotten better at hitting them than just having the arrows go near them. The more you do it the easier it will get. You’ll figure out how close you can get without spooking them.

I discovered that just holding your bow when someone near makes a kill you get the loot and skill points too! You don’t need to make a shot even.

I noticed the color of the deer too the brown and white seem to be one hit while the brown and dark brown-is 2 and the blue deer is who knows how many this is the same for the chappa it use to be just the first color over in Kilima which is why it was easier to hunt but now I’ve started seeing the two tone ones there two… if you know which ones your hunting you can pick out of the crowd one shot or be prepared to chase on the two and when they run just follow at a distance until they stop again then shoot the second time ; easier then shooting on the run …. Just know the type matter for $ as the antlers have different values

i always bring 3 types of arrows with me, fine arrows, slowdown, and dispel. you only need dispel for the magic sernuk, chapaa, and muujin (the white-blue ones yes) to disable their magical abilities.

for the magic sernuk it can be tricky if you're hunting them by yourself lol i usually shoot them with dispel arrow then switch to slowdown arrows repeatedly until it's downed. but if their teleport ability got reset before that then i just shoot them with dispel arrow again... i hope my explanation not too confusing 😅

I tried but Palia doesn't have controller support. The people who do play on pc with a controller were able to do so because they sideloaded (or whatever) via Steam and used Steam's controller settings to get it to work. Just wanted to mention that.

If you’re talking about the teleporting sernuk it’s supposed to be like that. You could ask in the server if anyone could hunt with you. It might help. You both get loot.

I was told that the best technique was to chop down most of the trees in the area first. Then there's no more trees for them to jump into

I feel like I didn't explain that well lol But basically, if there are 10 trees, and you see them jump into a certain one, chop down the other 9, then chop the tree that they're in and there's nowhere else for them to go

Ok so if you get stuck in placement mode you should be able to leave homeplot and go right back. That takes you out of it

best (only) way to hunt the magic muujin solo is to go to one of two spots, one in thorny thicket near tamala's place and the other across the river from statue garden. while there look for the cliffs that are elevated (thorny) or below (statue) in the area. sometimes magic muujin spawn here (keep running back and forth if they are not). if they are there, cut the trees down and it will send the muujin into "panic" mode, they will look for trees to go into, but once you cut them down they won't be able to hide as they were not able to jump from the cliff areas. fish in a barrel from there. this was the go to method before the last update, so hopefully they didn't mess with that tactic

How do you cancel animations on switch? I only managed to do it once when foraging but whenever I tried it with chopping wood or breaking rocks, it either doesn't work or cancel the action

FYI there appears to be a new bug mainly on the switch. In the home plot it won't let you get out of the movement section by using b button. When you push the right toggle down. Restarting game should be the last option. First try pushing the right toggle down again. You also can put left toggle down into the overhead view menu then hit the b button

I believe it's because it's auto-opening chat every time anyone says something but then it shows no chat per your setting, just the weird log of server changes. Freezing we can’t do anything about that yet im sure they and Nintendo are working on it and the teleporting deer can be annoying my suggestion is to stay at Kilima Village and hunt with the copper arrows because they one shot the deer so you don’t have to chase it down

Most of the glitches are happening on the switch version and a lot of people are playing on pc so that’s why you don’t see a lot of people complaining but it is very difficult to play a game you like with rubber banding

I still go for it because I love the game to much to leave

Keep in mind, the game is still in Open Beta so glitches are going to happen a lot. It's kind of the point of this stage in game development: find the bugs with a sizable player base so they can be squashed.

Same with receiving feedback, suggestions, etc. to help improve and prepare the game for an official release in the future

let the fish bite and see what it is, if it's the fish you want hook it, if not, let it bite and then let it disappear off screen then reel in the line

and if you didn't see it or wasn't sure, leave the line in the water, the same fish will bite again

it's just that it's a popular place to look for ore so the nodes tend to get mined almost as soon as they respawn. but occasionally i'll find a bunch of nodes in there, like multiple big iron and at least one palium, so it's still worth a quick check if you're passing through/passing nearby anyway

If you open and close the chat it usually clears up.
Some other chat bugs I've noticed if you go to different areas the chat sometimes doesn't work. I found if you go into settings change mode to streamer chat on then back to default it kind of resets the chat to where you can use it

Then there's one chat bug where nothing works and you just have to reload I haven't found a workaround for that yet

I never get anything much out of the mines. I have been playing since the Switch drop in December. I played a lot of Fae Farm before Palia and the mines are the only place to find gems and ore in that game so I was confused at first. If you haven't closed out of the game (and I mean fully, like hit X closed it) since you've tried to party up, restarting may help. That's something I've noticed too. Sometimes it may also be because of a disconnect on wifi.

Been playing Palia only 2-3 weeks and this happened to me one other time already. Google search tells me this error code means something got corrupted and I need to delete and reinstall the game... Given how long it takes to install the game and that I already had to install it twice (this will be the third time) I'd be happy to find some other fix...

You can change the number of rows in the action bar in the game settings. It probably reset to 1.

Since I downloaded the game on switch I haven’t once had the chat working. It always says invalid state. I don’t use vpn. I have time and date synchronized with the internet. I even reinstalled the game. Nothing is helping.

Also the support ticket isn’t working and only shows me website isn’t available

For this bug, try to avoid using the "B" button for going back. Instead, select the X in the top corner. I found that this saved me time and almost completely stopped the bug

is palia loaded on your switch or on the sd card? i think i've heard people say that if it's on the sd card it freezes a lot. outside of the occassional freeze at cooking, which happens like once a week, i've never experienced freezing after stores or npcs

Anyone else having issues with not receiving loot bags when hunting? I’ll get the noise of getting the hunt and the animal will disappear but no loot bag will appear. When I tried to put in a ticket, I got sent to this page. What do I do now?

sernuk move faster than the switch can handle, especially when on hills. and yeah, bags go missing sometimes, so you just have to work with what you have. position yourself so when you shoot the sernuk it will run in a direction you want, don't pan away before you see the bag, and if you shoot one of the 'standing still' glitched ones, check along where it was running because it's so laggy it shows where the sernuk will be and not where it actually is (even tho you shot it, it's not always where you shot it). the game is a disaster on switch tbh

yeah my pc is like 8 or 9 years old and was a base model lol. so it doesn't run palia very well, about the same as my switch does. the pc graphics are so much better, I never even knew there were flowers in fields until watching the game be streamed

Since the penultimate update (iirc) walking, sprinting and even auto sprint is so laggy, freezy - almost impossible to play. Tried 3 of my pro controllers, remains unchanged.
Happens on the farm and also all over both maps.
Anything I can do? Are Devs aware?

Just completed the bundle of the temple of roots and now my game is crashing every time I'm leaving the temple of roots, where I have to visit the gardener a couple of times because of the quest that starts after completing said bundle 🤪 So my whole experience today was restarting the game after not responding anymore and updating a bug report, crashing, crashing. Has anyone else noticed that if you rebind the tools secondary ability to A you can't refill your watering can on the home plot? I had to rebind all the controls because the defaults were very uncomfortable but the only time I want to play on my switch is to water my crops so this is very inconvenient. She’s the only one I can’t gift today for whatever reason. I tried through the door, I tried going inside her room, I’ve closed the game and drove to town and back and tried again but it won’t work. She asked for a ||radiant sun fish|| and when I give it she says what’s she is supposed to say about ||making sure it’s cared for|| but it doesn’t leave my inventory and nothing changes in my relationship with her and it gives me the option to gift her still when I retry.

Sooo update on Subira not taking gifts from me… turns out it’s not all gifts.. for some reason when I try to give her ||a radiant sun fish|| it does the proper dialogue for taking it, but the relationship doesn’t change and it doesn’t leave my inventory… she also asked for ||sashimi|| though so I tried that today and it worked. Idk why I can’t give her the ||fish|| though. 😂

I am on switch also, I don't know if it will help or not but worth giving it a try... My internet is so poor, I don't have fibre cable, i live in farm cottage, old copper cable is worse than dial up, I use a wireless router, wired to outside antenna for signal boost, I uninstalled the game and re installed, fixed most of my bugs, it sounds like your installation may have corrupt file
