Is there a bug going on with cooking? My partner has had several recipes get ruined because flipping keeps failing like a major delay from their commands
are they holding down and then releasing when it's in the circle? this is the most commonly misunderstood step!
Yes but the game is acting like they are releasing much later
i've seen one other person possibly experiencing something similar? it may just be a lag issue though im not sure unfortunately! you can submit a bug report though just incase
Thanks I'll do that
I had the glitch happen to me tonight, it wouldn't let me stop the circling motion. First time I've experienced this.
Hello! My friend delanie and I would like to do a cake party! Would anyone like to join? We could schedule a time for tonight or tomorrow!
Anyone know how to get the star quality Sernuk noodle soup?
You already have the recipe? If not, friendship levels with Ashura gives access to his room where it is. If you already have it, it's a matter of making it with as many star quality ingredients as you can, having good timing and not making many mistakes on prep, cooing level, and RNG/chance to get star quality meal outputs.
Aka, just keep trying!
I have access to his room but don’t have the recipe.
The recipe is on the windowsill in a blue book, you have to interact with it to obtain the recipe which then can be cooked on the stove
Thank you!
can anyone tell me how this works i made one then used it but nothing happen
They only serve a purpose in Bahari, and you need to be within 200m of the resources for them to register to be traceable

Hi, looking for the fastiest 50-55% focus dishes. Any idea ?
- Spicy crab fried rice: 600/400, very fast
- Chili oil dumplings: 350/525, somewhat fast
- Phoenixfire Relleno: 300/450, fast
- Spicy stir fry: ??/487, somewhat fast
- Stuffed cabbage rolls: ??/412, fast, 95%+ star rate
Bouillabaisse (350/525) is faster than chili oil dumplings, but it is annoying to catch enough fish and oysters, and it requires potatoes
Anyone want to bake cakes for like an hour?
I didn’t see this til now, but I have 164 regular sweet leaf. As like 75 of the other ingredients needed for the celebration cake if you want to join my friend and I shortly?
Darn. I guess I’m a bit late, but if you would still like to join us, you can look me up, my ign is Hez The Great
Hi! I’m new to the server. Anyone up for flow foraging?
i am!
So sorry I ended up busy for the rest of the evening but I’ll add you and also add you as a friend on here! Feel free to reach out anytime you need a helping hand with cooking
I’m actually about to join a cooking party soon with some friends on another discord server, add me and I’ll dm you!!
That’d be great!
@limpid hull My name on Palia is the same as here -lemonaomi
i cant find u
Super weird thing happened earlier. Didn't really care at all, but I just found it strange. Was running around in a hunting party and we saw an untouched grove at 6am, and we were pretty close to it. So we decided to go chop it. As soon as we go to it, it just disappeared.
I don't think anyone else chopped it either, since we were close enough to see it as we walked up to it. It just despawned, which I thought didn't ever happen.
The sky thingy tends to vanish when ur close previous choppers probs forgot one tree or the treasure or something
Sometimes groves are left intentionally by people hunting rainbow butterflies or no one found them from the night prior. They do naturally despawn after a while.
Oh okay. I thought a grove couldn't despawn unless chopped, so this makes sense. Just weird that it happened so quickly in game time. Oh well!
Yeah! It's cuz you guys came up on it right at 6am, so my guess is you entered a server that was dead and no one had found the grove prior and the grove had been sitting there into the next day, or, you came after an RTB server who finished up and left the grove.
That's why it's weird to me. The server was full and there were other hunting groups running around as well. Plenty of people and we had been on that server the whole time if I remember correctly. Got a disco dog plush instead so I'm not mad about it
Oh yeah! That is a little different then. Congrats on your plushie though! Yaaaaayyyy!!!!
i know there are cooking parties, but are there ever people that come by that want to group up for like the cooking accomplishments? ive neglected friendship levels most of the game and now im just waiting on daily gifts to level friendships up so i can get a couple recipes
Bro that sucks so much I’m so sorry
if it isnt the consequences of my own actions 💔
Absolutely, I wouldn't mind helping you out with this today! I'm going to be online in like a half hour or so
this is the place or u can randomly yell at poeple to help u ingame
that would be great! please let me know when you are on!
In the mean time do you have a screenshot of your cooking acheevs so we know which ones you need to cook?
Hey, does anyone have a bunch of sweet leaf, and would like to do a cake/cooking party at my place? Going to stock up on ingredients at zekis now if anyone is interested? I’m buying 100 of everything lol
well i am trying to go for master cooking by the book mainly need
- trout dinner
- apple pie
- sernuk noodle stew
- fried catfish dinner
- cream of mushroom soup
those are all the ones that require friendship 3 with someone
I think I might need to go get a trout first since the starter needs the trout for the dinner, but after that I'll be good to cook all of those!
no worries, ill be on around 12/12:30 est (about 20-40 min
Trout secured
I got 100 of everything besides apples (I have 94 starred) and sweet leaf (I have 3) anyone wanna do a cake party?
i am on now - is your name on here your ign, mine is imVanta
Yes it's Fern Xander! Let me use up my resource compass then I'll head home
I'm having trouble cooking the steak dinners. Whenever I click the circle to flip the meat it just keeps spinning
for flipping i believe you click and hold, then when the dot is in the target area you release your click
Crashed but hopping right back on
1 thousand oyster later
Gratz
That did the trick! Thank you! I had been struggling lol
Wow you got the pebble? Congrats, I'm still trying
3-4 days ive been opening them 😭
I didnt count how much oyster but it's a lot + tiring
I keep walking back to back, sometimes use fast travel from beachcomber to coral shores / the other way around
I've been trying for months
Iirc i got 300-400 oyster in my storage, i didnt sell them, just put it in the glow worm maker
worming ur oyster meat asice from the few starred ones is hte best u can do with them
noone would realistically make so many oyster dishes and grilling em is also kinda meh good choice
Yes since i make glow worm for coin so i think it's still okay, but tbh im not imagining opening oyster would be the worst pain compare to hunting bug plush 😭
My 3 friends gave up in the mid way, they just cant stand it XD
you know this quest if u jhust start out the one that gives u 5 oysters
remember this when u spend farming unopnened oysters for days to open hundreds of em
i got mine on oyster nr3 within 5min of playing the game ....
i reocmmend using all spare requests to requests unpoened ones to get up to 4 tries every single day for almost 0 effort
Never thought about this, but u got the point 🙂 i'll tell my other friends about that
i onyl opened all of mine cuz none ever requested em and i needed the storage space had like 130 of em spare ...
How long is "a while"? The patch notes for when the grove was added say "Up to 2 Flow Tree Groves can exist at a given time. If there are two already existing on the map, more will not spawn." I haven't ever seen one despawn without the trees in them being chopped down. o_O Flow trees just... hang out indefinitely, don't they? (I've definitely been by myself on servers for upwards of 4 in-game days and the groves haven't gone anywhere, at least not as far as I could tell.)
I'm not sure that I've kept exact count of the time it takes, but I have seen single flow trees despawn and I've seen groves despawn before personally. The same thing that happened to Aurora happened to me where you walked up on it and the the pink fuzz just disappeared as soon as you got to it, taking the trees with it.
Oh, fascinating! Okay, now I need to find a flow tree and stare at it XD Thanks for the info
For science!!!
Ur not the only one with a backlog of palia stuff to science xd
List of recipes that ask for “any meat” but are showing crab Patch 0.190
Bacon-stuffed mushrooms
Chili oil dumplings
Hot Hounds
Meaty stir fry
Mushroom Dumpling soup
Pan fried Dumplings
Phoenixfire Relleno
Rice Cake Soup
Spicy Stir Fry
Oysters Akwinduu
Quiche Caleri
Stuffed Cabbage Rolls
Recipes seem to work fine once opened. Bug report submitted.
I was just about to post about this too. literally ALL meat-dishes are requiring Crab now???
showing crab, still uses meat
oh? so even though it shows a big red exclamation point, it'll still let me start the recipe and use Meat instead of Crab?
i haven't tried it yet bc i dont want to waste any of my food items.. 😅
I tested a few and they can be started without crab, the option to use any meat shows up once you are actively making the item.
Perfect, thank you!
You're welcome. Please, if you find any exceptions -ones listed that should not use crab, please report back!
Will do!
Funnily, these have always (or at least for a very, very long time) had the option to use chopped crab as the "chopped red meat." I wonder if they reordered something?
When I go to the Palia wiki for those recipes they do not list crab meat as an ingredient, instead they show any red meat. The recipes listed will show a caution flag if you don't have crab meat but still allow the recipe to proceed if you can fulfil the any red meat requirement. If they added crab as an ingredient, they accidentally removed the any red meat from the list causing the recipe to display a warning. Stuffed cabbage rolls as an example.
Nope, same order on the prep station, but that sure is weird-looking!
I guess that also means that folks who are starting these recipes for a cooking party will probably want to have a crab in storage somewhere so they don't get the annoying popup
See "chopped crab" on the prep table list? It counts for the "chopped meat" variable, always has :) Sometimes it's buried under other things (separate from the meat), though.
This is the carousel for Meaty Stir Fry:
I do see it, however it should not display a warning if it is optional- for instance if I had muujin meat but not sernuk when either is a usable option. It's a bug.
Oh, yes, it's definitely a bug, sorry if I sounded like I was saying it wasn't!
I don't want to confuse anyone. I agree that crab is listed as an option, but the behavior is confusing. Also the Wiki isn't showing crab for those recipes.
the wiki is based on what it was and is supposed to be
"Any Red Meat" is the name of the variable, and it includes (but is not only) chopped crab - that's all I was trying to say earlier. I don't know why crab is a red meat in Palia, though 😂
crabs red mean theyre red meat duh
The wiki won't show crab because normally it's "any red meat," and the current display in-game is, as you say, a bug
I think we're all basically agreeing with each other, maybe? lol
what about the.... never mind, LOL. 🤣
This feels like the time that some recipes had Bok Choy showing up as the required (but blanked-out??) vegetable for the Any Vegetable variable
But hey, good news: Stuffed Cabbage Rolls are STILL broken in our favor 😂
Yes, the bug is the warning, which is what I reported and the recipes that show that are what I listed.
I will take it, and the fixed pavers.
I'll take the super-shiny mining nodes, too. Makes it easier to see them...
but that is very far off-topic lol
Oh? Had no idea, how is it broken to our advantage?
- For some reason, Stuffed Cabbage Rolls almost always turns out starred when cooked with reasonable skill. I mean, "unusual to have one unstarred round out of 60" level, even when double roling, waiting for OP, not rushing, etc.
- It also always turns out to be worth 52g (if starred), no matter what meat and mushrooms you use. Today I re-tested it (like I always do) with a vampire crab (145g) and brightshroom (60g), and yup: 52g. This means that it always stacks even if the meat person is using crab or a mix of chapaa and sernuk/muujin. It also means that OP meat is an option without needing to worry about mixed values.
Hilariously, if you back-calculate it, that sell value basically seems to be using the pre-0.180 values for meat (13g) and mushrooms (8g) 😂 (it was broken back then, too — it seems like the numbers for meat and morels were hard-coded instead of the variables)
Loaded Potato Soup is also effected.
I thought I was going crazy! I really thought I needed crabs
That confirms that it affects all recipes with 'chopped red meat' as an ingredient variable
same! it's my main food source so i thought i was crazy too.
glad to contribute
TIL that it is (now? currently? always?) possible to FAIL Lucky Braised Fish by preparing an extra Fragrant Spice Mix (that consumes the 5th green onion)
Note that the prep table is uninteractable, because all of the ingredients have been prepped and none of them were ruined (like in an oven)
I only just got the Quiche Caleri, so I just assumed that it used crab.
Quick question about cooking - I primarily grow star quality vegetables (as do most people), but this seems to be a major hinderance on cooking. Is there an option to use a blend of star quality ingredients with non star quality ingredients when you cook? It's a major blocker to have 100 of each vegetable in star quality but get blocked from cooking something because you only have 3 star quality spice sprouts
Click ALLOW starred button
It will then pull starred spices first u can lockbox em and then it will pull unstarred
Thanks!
This may be a stupid question, as I'm really just now diving into cooking in depth in this game. Are there recipes that require you to have two stoves? For example, Meaty Stir Fry. I have a stove, but it tells me I'm missing it?
Yea, some recipes require multiple of the same station indeed!
For example the food I always make (Chapaa Masala) Requires you to fry the chapaa on one stove and throw it in the pan on the other.
You get used to it pretty quick though
Ah okay so the homes I've toured don't just have the big fancy kitchens for cooking parties lol. Thanks for the help!
yes! in order to cook every recipe you'll eventually need two of every station :)
I am SO glad to know this before I get further in lol
if you have any more questions feel free to @ me !!
everyone here is so nice, i love it. thanks so much!
not sure if anyone else has encountered this, i was just tending my garden watering stuff, i then went to make a recipe, loaded potato soup, upon every interaction (ex chopping on cutting board) it would pull out my water can, not load the water can, and then take me out of the action i was doing, i also tried this with mixing ingredients same thing, i tried hitting unstuck to save my recipe but it did not reset, is this a known thing?
edit - it would also tell me i could not continue the action with my watering can out
I’m going to bake some cakes at my plot at 11am est tomorrow if anyone wants to join! UN is Alexandria the great
Yes, this is an existing glitch. It tends to happen if you accidentally press the "ready tool" keybind (R on PC, ZL...? on Switch) simultaneously with the "interact with cooking station" keybind (F on PC, A on Switch I think). It can be resolved by changing servers or relogging.
Unfortunately, doing that while you are in the middle of a recipe (if you are the owner of the plot) will also ruin the recipe. In some cases, I've had good luck with completing a tool action and then for some reason it will let me complete the cooking minigame action I was trying to do - at least for stirring/mixing.
(It happened to me in the middle of a cake party once, lol, but the time it happened when I was in the middle of a spicy crab fried rice party as the crab person was quite a bit worse, as it would interrupt after every chop...)
thank you very much, no more cooking for me until its fixed lol
If this happens to you repeatedly (i.e., you clear the glitch by rezoning/relogging and it happens again), you might want to submit a ticket in case it's something else going on. But in the meanwhile cooking together with others offers some insurance, because they can finish any step you start if you get stuck
How to get apples and berries faster?
- friendship level 3 quests from Badruu, Nai'o, and/or Zeki award seeds
- use every strat to level gardening as efficiently as possible to get to level 8/9/10 more quickly, and Badruu will give you free seeds
- obtain a recipe that requires a specific fruit (blueberry pie, apple pie, honey lure) so you can request the fruit until you have enough to make seeds
- be very lucky opening a Lucky Box (seeds) or getting fruit out of the rummage pile (opens requests)
Leveling strats: #🌱│gardening message (link to a specific message)
I started focusing on like just blueberries and building up that inventory and then just planting apples and building that inventory etc. it’s how I got like 200 starred blueberries pretty quickly
So I’m trying to cook a meaty stir fry but the stove icon is red so it won’t let me make it. I have all the ingredients
I 100% have a stove, mixing stations, prep, and oven. Any ideas why the stove icon is red?
that means you need a second stove for this recipe! one to start it, and one to cook at.
(two of each cook stations will cover you for all recipes)
YAY!!!! I FINALLY GOT THE LADY BUG PLUSHY!! and i wasnt even trying T-T
Congrats! I always get my bug/hunt plushies while not trying, so I'm pretty sure that's the secret to getting them
I’m aware it’s 230 am for me and 530 am on the other side of the USA rn, but is there anyone else who’s up and down to go foraging for some sweet leaf? I’ve foraged over 200 just today alone, my goal is 400 so I can join 4 cake parties
IGN is Hez The Great, just like my user name. Always looking for new friends and gaming buddies.
would anyone like to group up for cooking today? i am trying to go for master chef accomplishments, if so @ me or reply to me so i get a notification
Does anyone know why the interaction doesn't work when I cook and use the stove, or am I doing it wrong? It didn't give me any problems before. I play from my PC.
do you mean the flipping mini game? if so are you holding down and the releasing when the dot is in the circle! if not can you describe what's happening?
If I meant that, thank you, I was doing it wrong.
Hi! Anyone free to make 3x macrons with me for the weekly? Thank you!
u up to do the other togethers weeklys to?
Sure! I've finished mine but I'll be more than happy to help you 🙂
booting up
ok ... what's your IGN?
I’m having a hard time reading when the cooking parties are based on the posts in parties. Is anyone doing a cooking party today, and if so what time?
elle was fast for sure
You can try the paliaparty.app it shows upcoming cook parties
Where does one find sweet leaf again? It's been five months since I last played
Top half of the map in Bahari Bay
Ah thank you!!!
How/where do we get the apple pie recipe
the recipe is in ||delaila and badruu's room, which you can access once you're friendship level 3 with delaila||
Thank you!!! 🙏
anybody on see my request for 2 palia bars? chat is down for me in game 😦
Any cooking parties that require butter?
maybe cake
Is there anyway to grow garlic and green onions? Or do I just have to stumble across it❤️
Can’t grow them. You can buy garlic from zeki’s register
Bummer ok!
Wait garlic can be bought dang no need to stockpile anymore can buy a couple hundred when needed for cooking party then
This is the particular strength of fish stew parties :)
u can obviously not buy starred one yes not like if u buy a bunch some of em turn out to be starred right
Correct, the ones from the general store are 100% unstarred
No starred from zeki unfortunately just regular.
To make it less stumbling and more purposeful foraging....
**Wild Garlic **shares spawn points with sundrop lilies, and there are many many of those spawn points in S. Bahari. Pick the lilies, too, to get the node to reroll for another chance at garlic. (Bonus: the ladybugs that pop out sometimes can give a plush!)
Wild green onion is found in eastern Kilima (Whispering Banks area and around the Dragon Shrine) and shares spawn points with (iirc) morels and ginger. Pick all 3 and run loops through there and you can gather quite a bit in short order.
(Images courtesy of palia.th.gl )
And in Kilima, garlic seems to share spawn points with sundrop lilies (which will occasionally pop out garden millipedes) EXCEPT in the areas where emerald carpet moss also spawns (where they will occasionally pop out garden mantises lol)
(image from palia.th.gl)
pretty sure buying garlic from zeki is more effective but hey maybe ur there anyways or like foraging
Mostly it's an "I'm there anyway" - I see garlic, I pick it. It stacks up on me pretty quick. (Also, foraging XP = dari cloves :D)
Also 46g apiece for garlic adds up very quickly
and waste my precious medals no way nuh uh
woha pricy
well i got 150 garlic in reserve so im fine for now
I already have as many bonsais and koi ponds as I'm planning to buy XD
I keep 1k medals in reserve in case they add something really cool in the future, but yeah I gotta dump medals on something...
might as well be poke parties
i collect decor i dont even decorate ...
XD
Thank you so much- feels like I either have a ton or can’t find any lol. Appreciate the help
which website you useing?
foragables in Kilima give low XP, right?
i thought hte only way to level foraging is what flowtreepartys to just chop 200+ at once
are there other ways ?_?
yes there's various ways to level xp for every skill depending on how you prefer to play
but foraging is so extremely slow
not everyone wants to min-max every skill
yeah, I figured that after the first few levels it would taper a bit.
overall there's less foragables in kilima so it seems slower/less, but i found the best way for me is to run around the bay chopping trees and picking up every foragable i see
i don't know the exact stats, that's something Ren can probably answer, but that's my preferred method
training foraging just feels super weird to me why grab foiragables when u got no need for em
i do have a need for them, you might not but your experience is not the same as everyone else
yeay but grabbing stuff u need is not training hte skill its just getting free xp cuz u would do it anyways
Looking for fruit frosters for cake party :)) Join if you ahve star apples
well gl hf foragign and cooking i guess
palia.th.gl :)
All forageables of the same rarity give the same amount of XP. Kilima only has common and uncommon forageables, no rare or epic, so technically yes; but sweet leaf is uncommon, so a sweet leaf and morels run is the same XP (roughly) as a green onion/morels/ginger run. (Brightshrooms, heat root, and dragon's beard peat are rare and give more XP, but they are, well, rarer...)
Tree chopping (regular trees) blows foraging out of the water in terms of XP per time, but is limited by axe durability and bag space limitations. It is pretty tedious, in my experience, but useful if you need the wood and aren't just tossing it (and as a newer player, you do need the wood!)
Flow tree chops actually give somewhat less XP than chopping an equivalent number of large regular trees IF you just straight chop them. But flow trees give variable XP amounts: the XP they give increases every time they are damaged faster than they regenerate and then allowed to heal up. You can push the amounts quite high with some patience, and then everyone who is able to loot the tree gets the boosted XP.
huh wut what if u chop ur own tree nonstop or two of em never take em down and leave plot/logout will it stay? theoritical infinite xp
or just chop le larger tree forever and let it heal till u bring someone to chop it with you
No, if you leave plot or change servers, home flow tree becomes a new tree and loses any XP gained
inetteresting 10hour session of chopping ur own large flowtree till ur axe breaks
but hten again flowtree party and lettign 30 poeple tag atree also will add up insanely much now if only i needed the wood i could attent one
you can't just stand there and chop, because that doesn't damage faster than they regenerate. You can get a little added if you're good at animation cancelling, but it's slow and hard on your axe. Best results are from multiple taps at the same time.
Tagging once also does nothing unless people tap in pairs (then it works great)
flowtrees are soooo weird
so what do you recommend to train foraging with if u want that golden trophy
If you can, attend an XP boosted flow tree chop (or host one). Otherwise, pick everything in sight and always pick up loot for trees you chop.
boosted partys exist 😮 ?_?
Yep! @bold plover hosts them pretty regularly on PPA, and tbh even regular flow tree chops can be boosted a little if you and a friend buddy up for your pretap run. Sometimes hosts can be curious about the idea and I can give a little demo or run an experiment with them :) "let's see what happens if we almost chop and then let it heal before we chop fully!"
thank you for helping
ren the alknowing he knows all
LOL I most certainly do not

anyone wanna cook some focus food?
I cannot figure out how to stir using m switch!! Can anyone help!!!
press the a button it should be automatically there when you need to stir
what button? I see the stir button but cant access it
The A button which recipe are you trying to make?
vegetable soup
why is the stir option not available it should be
do I need a toool?
do I need a tool from Reth?
you don't need any tools to be able to use the kitchen stations. when you interact with the station to stir you need to hold down the A button until it's completed the step
thank you!
You can usually just tap the button once to stir, but pressing and holding will work if that breaks
I am so ridiculous!! I didn't realize I needed to chop the mushrooms first SMH...LOL!
Oh! Oops! Learning experience all around, sounds like :) Glad you figured it out!
Where do I get the mushroom soup recipe?
Inside Hekla's tent or during Jina's level 4 quest
https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Cream_of_Mushroom_Soup#Obtain_the_Recipe
Or if you only need the soup itself for now, you can cook it with someone who has the recipe :)
Anyone wanna cook ?
did it work?
Once the UI pops up (with the bowl) you can either tap the left mouse button to get it started, or press and hold until the action completes
if ur joining a cooking party, do u need the recipe? or is it as long as someone starts it ur good?
You don't need the recipe if someone else starts it.
yippeee thank u!
Just chop/mix/stir your one thang each round and get the finished cooked product when it's done. 🙌🏻
This is especially nice for the recipes you can only get at certain events like Luna new year that others may have missed out on. 💜
Where do I find briar daisies?
Briar Daisies can be found on cliffs and mountains throughout Bahari Bay, such as Pulsewater Plains, Proudhorn Pass, Ancient Aquaduct and on top of Pavel Mines at any time of day.
https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Briar_Daisy
They can be found any time of day :) The wiki forageable pages at some point used to only specify "day, night" when it meant "any time," and a later editor took that to mean "only Day, Night, not Morning or Evening." Thanks for the heads-up so I can fix that page...
What it the most cost effective recipe to cook for yourself to bring some food with you when going gathering? Cost effective meaning which ingredients are used etc.
this depends on your focus level!
Assuming you can make use of 225/337* food, steak dinner is imo THE most cost-effective recipe for solo cooking. It takes any meat, wheat, spice sprouts, and butter.
Meaty stir fry gives 250/375* focus and is also pretty good, if you grow rice and have tomatoes or carrots to spare. (As a bonus, you can chop up Bahari crabs for the meat if you want XD)
If your focus bar won't fit those focus amounts yet, then hearty vegetable soup (100/150*) is the next best. You can use carrots or tomatoes, spice sprouts, and mountain morels as the ingredients.
Palian onion soup (also 100/150*) is another good option for early game, if you grow onions. It's just onion, flour, and garlic.
More solo cooking options and analysis here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qPbCKTJg8xYlR1Pw60ZkaXAERRkXaMC0r3UZZKLWQ_g/edit?gid=41849516#gid=41849516 ("What to Eat" tab)
However: any time you can split the ingredients and/or the work with another player, that will always make things faster and more cost-effective :) So, invite a neighbor to cook with you, if that's something that works for your playstyle.
Steak Dinner is fantastic for 2 players: one person starts the recipe (meat), chops sprouts, and handles the flips. The other one rolls the dough (wheat), bakes the bread, and mixes the herb butter. (As the wheat-butter-oven person, I like to start the oven baking, mix the butter, then grab the bread when it finishes - very satisfying little dance :D)
is there an issue with bacon stuffed mushrooms?
what are you having issues with?
it says crab but it needs meat instead?
crabmeat?
oh yes that is a bug right now! you can see the recipes it effects here! #🍳│cooking-foraging message
also you can use the wiki to check what it's supposed to be if you need visuals :) https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Dishes
aah thank u so much! i was trying to find out if it was something
Thank you so much! 😊
Anybody on that would not mind teaching me how to team up to do some cooking. I would like to start completing the weekly pot luck challenge.
i can
@hybrid violet waiting on you my in game name is UrsiUrs Urilla
steamed fish is so fast to make 😄 perfect for weekly togethers and it odnt require stockpiling zeki items
But it does require specifically fishing for Bahari bream 🫠
I guess if you need to do your fishing weeklies anyway, you might as well fish for that, if you're just looking to minimize time spent and aren't worried about anything else.
but for my time/effort I like fish stew - same properties (fast, no bought ingredients, no produce), can use any fish you have, and it's a good return on investment
If it's cheap fish, you've got fishing buffs/gap-filler focus food. If it's expensive fish, you've made extra money \o/
yeay but then i struggle to chose which fish to use XD
plus i have some towers of bahary bream at least lmao
I just wish it didn't completely ignore the value of the green onion and ginger when calculating the sell price of the dish. It basically only counts the fish and the oil 😦
So you put in 82g of starred fish, 44g of forageables, and 20g (bought) oil — 136g total — get back 72-108g.
Of course, you could eat it, too, but at 225 focus starred, I'm not sure it's worth the trouble.
(Meanwhile, fish stew with bahari bream, spice sprouts, and garlic, 111-165g per round.)
But, then again, "it's fun to make and I already have the mats anyway" is reason enough to cook, if you don't have pressing needs for the materials elsewhere.
Its fast and i got the stuff stockpiled and i dont have to keep running to zeki for flour or milk 😄
Yeah, whatever works!
whats the best solo focus food for max focus bar? i only play sometimes and tend to not be around for parties. last time i played it was chili dumplings but idk if thats good to do solo
here's a few recommendations! #🍳│cooking-foraging message
Chili oil dumplings are okay-ish to make solo - maybe a little on the tedious side? If you like the focus amount they give, then they're alright in terms of cost-effectiveness as long as you use carrots or tomatoes as the vegetable.
You might also give cabbage rolls or spicy stir fry a try, if you want something that gives more focus than steak dinner. Cabbage rolls has no timed stirs or anything, so it can be a little easier to manage solo as long as you're comfortable chopping green onion.
I have been at max focus forever now and I don't like cooking
so I still make starred chili oil dumplings if cooking solo, they give 525 focus and are quick, easy and cheap to make, the only thing you need to purchase is the oil, and it's like 20 gold per.
What's your usual star rate on those when you cook solo?
Once in a blue moon I'll get one unstarred but not very often. But my cooking is over 300 so maybe that plays a part in it.
I wouldn't bother if I got many unstarred
But I do use only starred produce, meats and spice sprouts when making it.
cake party cake starred and unstarred so low effort so muhc focus
Solo, cakes are expensive and take forever, so they're probably not the best choice in this case
ik but i still keep suggesting it to everyone
i wanted to ask for some advice: i hear that cooking parties are the best way to level up but if i wanted to do some work solo on leveling, what is the best way for me to do that? cooking is kind of awful for me but i’m a completionist
Ren has a really good xp explanation ! #🍳│cooking-foraging message
thank you!
TL;DR, campfire cooking: set up 4-5 campfires in a ring and rotate in the center. If you like to fish, grill your unstarred common and uncommon fish for a chance at bonus gold. If you are a prolific hunter and have more meat than you can feed your glow worms, grill that.
However, this is (obviously) pretty tedious, and may also be awful for you...
Mind if I ask what it is about cooking that gives you trouble?
i dont typically have issues with tedious tasks but for some reason when i was set with the fact that i had to get to level 20 cooking to unlock muujin bahari for the bundles (i recently realized that i could cook it with someone else so i didnt have to unlock it) but cooking was my last skill to get to level 10. i think its repetitivness is just more bad because im stuck in the same spot.
ideally i'd like to get in some cooking parties but more lowkey ones where its less time and lower stakes but i havent been playing the game long enough to build up a good stock of items for any readily party cooked dish yet lol
the campfire cooking is better for me than making hearty vegetable soup over and over somehow xD
Oh, for sure
The rhythm of the campfire is much better for my brain if I can rotate around them lol
Just gotta watch your focus bar, because it'll bloopclunk you shockingly fast if you get into a groove! lol
oh true! plus, i immensely enjoy hunting, so thats not a problem on gathering resources. and now i know to put meat in my glow worm farms 😳
:D
Prints money, 29g an hour (per farm) while you sleep!
For unstarred sernuk and muujin meat, at least
(anything worth 11g or 16g will do it)
Yep. Put in 16g of stuff (1 sernuk meat), receive 1 glow worm (25g) + 4 HB fertilizer (20g)
16g -> 45g in one hour of processing
You taught me something, too! I did not realize that the unlock requirement for muujin Bahari was level 20 cooking now
For me it unlocked with the Watcher questline, but they changed that last patch it seems
For money or for cheap (but not fast) glow worms/fertilizer
i started playing at an unfortunate time it seems
the other option you can do along with that is just mass prepping your preferred focus food
yeah it was to adjust the difficulty of ||the Subira quest|| to be easier, and tbh i have mixed feelings about that overall but good to know
Honestly, given that you can hit 20 cooking within a cake party or two, I don't think it's too onerous, but it's definitely a bit more challenging if you would rather play solo
i personally want that quest to be hard like it originally was
Yep. 340 base XP per round, plus whatever your focus bonus is if you keep yourself fed the whole time
Every level from level 9 up is 5,000 XP total
So, 15 rounds of cakes will grant you a level even without focus bonus
Cake parties are usually anywhere from 30 to 100 (some are more, but that's... really a lot)
50 or 60 rounds usually takes about an hour, less if people stay focused and do their stuff in a timely fashion (but can be more if the party is disorganized)
And as a bonus, 60 rounds of cake sells for about 44k lol (depending on star rate)
Given how much persistent angst I saw about the initial difficulty of the quest, and how long I was personally stalled on it as someone who was super nervous about cooking with others — and basically got carried through it by some generous friends-of-friends — I feel like it was a good change. Especially since that questline now has so much other stuff locked behind it.
its only 5000 and doesnt stack after 10?
Assuming I understood your question, yes, XP per level is constant from level 9 up.
yes sorry i didnt say that quite right
oh i do understand why it was! im a fiend for the cooking challenges though and since i had been playing before her quest was added i didnt have any issue with it
i do wish you still had to cook something for it instead of just collecting ingredients just cause i think it makes it more interesting
(that said: I think it would be cool if a VERSION of that quest, the hard one, was available somewhere for "extra credit" or something....)
oh yeah adding the "optional: cook..." part would be so cool!
lol remember when muujin temporarily disappeared from the game, and there were folks who set up parties to cook muujin Bahari with as many people as possible to stretch the existing meat stashes?
That was a wild month or two
i forgot about that LMAO
anybody want to team up in-game to cook a stack of chili oil dumplings quick?
what do i need for fish stew to maximize profit heheh
Rens input
bites hello what is the best fish for fish stew to make most profitable
Most profitable for the fish person, or most profitable for the guests chopping garlic?
for the fish per
is there a difference between for fish person and guests?
In profit (improvement over materials)? There is, unavoidably. If you put in a starred cloudfish (sells for 667g) and unstarred heat root (sells for 60g, also used in both sushi and poke), and you get back the same 297g⭐ x3 (891g total) as the people chopping one garlic (46g vendor cost)... yes, there is a difference.
The thing with fish parties is that the people who are carrying the bulk of the dish value are getting back more than they would if they just sold the fish without cooking with it, but it helps a lot if a community has multiple people putting in fish.
You can check out the numbers here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CqV_SHjfqaYcGcfqg4aVp21tYZACUDNMHYkTo9Wyu-8/edit?gid=1629226071#gid=1629226071
Change the fish and the spice on the Unstarred Any Fish tab.
Or if you'd rather do your own arithmetic, this infographic made by Sennel Deuragonov is a very good comparison:
explodes holy moly this isso cool
For me personally, since fish stew is only asking garlic from the guests, I feel perfectly comfortable using it for "odds and ends" rare glow worm fish.
wait whats odds and ends rare glow worm fish which ones are those
All of the ones in the bottom two categories on that chart, plus Midnight Paddlefish.
Top tier rares are cloudfish and blue spotted rays (most common fish used if someone says "rare")
Mid-tier rares are hypnotic moray, Kenli's' carp, and stormray. And the poor midnight paddlefish is the cheapest glow worm rare fish.
(There are also rare fish you can catch with regular worms, but they are worth much less. IMO those don't produce enough revenue to make organizing a party worthwhile.)
Hello, I have a question if I didn’t got the creamy carrot soup in any of the 2 quests that can give it what can I do? 🤣🥲
Did you get your library card from Caleri? If yes, read the book near where Kenyatta studies in the evening
(you can read it any time)
No, what I did was to join a friend who has the recipes to cook them so I can do the achievements but I want to get the recipes so I might do that because I don’t have the library card yet
Might be helpful? not sure
https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Manners,_Manners
Reading the book is the only way to learn the recipe
I think I didn’t receive the library card … at all 🥲
its not a proper item you are given /gen
If you are able to read the books (the physical interactable items) in the library, then you have a library card
anyone know when you over prep something with coocking do you get your stuff back
you do not get it back as far as I'm aware
Question about cooking - If you only have some of the required star quality ingredients when making a dish, will it default fill in the missing ones with normal quality while cooking? Or will it not let you finish cooking the dish? I know I have plenty of normal quality of the ingredients.
it will prioritize using star quality ingredients but if you don't have it, it will use normal quality
Is anyone else struggling with the Fish Stew recipe to register in the achievements section?
I made it time and time again and have gotten it as a golden star quality multiple times (alone and also with others) but it just refuses to register and remains unlocked for some reason... :(
U sure its not another similar looking dish?
Like idk bouilabasse for example
You might be right! let me try making that one!
Question about the Social Chef achievement, do both myself and the friend I'm cooking the recipes with need the recipe too to count for the achievements?
no
though u do need to have at least someone to start it (who can even log of afterwards probs_
okay, cause my friend isn't able to grab the food when it finishes after i start it and he's helping with cookign it too so it's isn't counting for either of us
he has to do a minigame step or start recipe to also get food if noone else got it u cooked it solo
okay, does mixing at the end count?
okay we'll try him doing one of the cutting too, thank you!!
Where to get fish stew(?) Recipe
fish bahary bay unstarred with regular worms
Huh, wasn't expecting a recipe to be in da water
If it's actually doing a stir step, yes. If it's only adding ingredients to something, no. (This also applies to oven roles (besides starting recipes): to get credit you have to take the completed sub-ingredient OUT of the oven, not just start it going.)
I have been in Heklas tent but it doesn't let me cook Mushroom Soup even tho I read the recipe.... why?
You're either missing a cooking station or an ingredient is the 1st thing that comes to mind. Do you see the recipe on your list when at the stove? How is the game not letting you cook cream of mushroom soup?
so im new to the game but i hear that people do like cake parties where they cook cake together .. and people tell me its very profitable .. but when i look on recipe and compare ingredients value with sell value it dosent seem like its profitable ? what am i missing :S
You can push it around depending on what you out in there. 1 person usually only does 1 task too, So I might be respons for (let's say) sweet leaf along with 2 others. That's only the sweet leaf cost for me, nothing else. That's the profitable part. Even those who provide fruits get gold out of it
What Faeronyn said! Cake parties generally get 10-18 people together to split the ingredients, but everyone who participates in the recipe by completing a minigame gets the whole 3 cakes at the end. There's a link the wiki's cake party guide in the pins, if you'd like an overview of how it works.
ooooh ... so u show up with like full bag of sweet leaf and just cut that ? or can it take from ur storage ?
Either one - it will take from your storage if you don't have any in your bag. I usually put the amount for the party in my bag anyway, so I can keep track of how many rounds it's been/whether I've done my task for that round. (Note that if you have starred in your regular storage, it will take those before any unstarred in your bag!)
If you're interested in the nitty-gritty math of it, check the Apples tab on this spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CqV_SHjfqaYcGcfqg4aVp21tYZACUDNMHYkTo9Wyu-8/edit?gid=2072901450#gid=2072901450
nice one ty ^^
Dunno what I am missing.... cause it won't add the chopped meat I just slaved over this chopping block for ; v;
you need to cook the meat in the oven before adding it to the dish!
Thank
Now I can say I know what it feels like to run around a kitchen stressing about something burning

LMAO
When I search from within the stovetop, it just... isn't in the list
Unrelated....
I watched some of the Great British Bakepff today and discovered the Celbration Cake is a real thing?! And they made Petit Fours and I actually thought they said the wrong number so.... take that for what you will
Weird. I can hop on and we can cook it together if you need, I have the recipe
Thanks for the offer, I can't rn but will @ you when I'm available sometime if that is cool, with you?
Yeah, that's fine
Oh yeah, but actually Petit Four is French: it's not the number 4, petit fours are tiny lil cakes called like this cause they used to be baked with the residual heat in ovens, which are called "fours" in French. Petit fours are also called "mignardise" or "fancies"
Yup, I learned that too haha. Crazy that my brain is so full of Palia that I tried to correct the TV show hosted by like... actual bakers tho lol!
This might be a silly question, but do you have one of the "spoon level" filters selected, by any chance?
This is also why "petite fives" is a minor pet peeve of mine lol
Hi, could anyone help me cook muujin for bundle?
Is it the muujin bahari you need?
possibly, i will check
Do you think we'll get new recipies? I saw a burger, a sliced roast, and a pot pie. Which new animal do you think will provide said meat? Or older animal. The new ones seem rather amphibian
oh im sure we are! there also looked to be new crops
im very very excited
cooking is my favourite skill and the food lore is just too good
Pumpkins and maybe grapes spotted?
I also thought grapes but its more likely beans cuz what can u cook with grapes
jams, desserts, charcuterie, as well as other savory dishes
😮 grapes are used in cooking
They do talk about drinking contests, so wine also isn't out of the question imo
wait maybe we can make our own vinegar if its grapes
normal poeple grapes are for making wine vinegar is the waste product
duhscape grapes are for vinegar wine is the waste product
Hello 👋🏻 Does anyone happen to have the sushi recipe and be online right now? I'm trying to help a player get the starred sushi achievement but it's not working. I thought I had the recipe but I don't...
looks like someone has to fish outside bubbles in a pond alot XD
does anyone wanna make some focus food?
@slim pine I have it if you still need it
I need to make a bunch of high lvl focus food if anyone wants to join
Oh thank you for the offer. I ended up fishing up the recipe after only an hour 😊
congrats! that's awesome!
is chapaa masala broken right now ?
hey is there someone who has these two recipes from the Luna New Year Event and would be willing to cook them with me in star quality for decorating my house?
- Mushroom Dumpling Soup
- Rice Cake Soup
i have both recipes
could you please add me ingame then?
only what you need to start the recipe, I should have the rest
I've been trying forever to get the sashimi recipe, anyone have any tips or tricks to get it? It's the last one I need!
okay, i'm ready whenever, it says your plot is locked
returning to homeplot now
If you're going for the sashimi recipe, it can be fished up anywhere in Bahari rivers with no bait, any time of day, but ONLY outside of the nodes/bubbles. If you're fishing up silvery minnows and rosy bitterlings, you're in the right spot — just keep trying, as it's a pretty low drop rate.
If you want to make each fish take a smaller amount of time, you can make use of the various buffs that make fish bite faster:
- Fishing with Friends proximity buff (when someone else catches a fish near you, stacks up to 5x)
- Trout Dinner
- Major Hook Time Booster
Oh, and the water in Flooded Fortress is rivers!
Thanks, I'll keep trying!
pompoms Hope you can snag it soon :)
You are my new favorite person lol. The one place I never tried was in flooded fortress and I got it just as my buffs were about to wear off!
All the rivers are the exact same loot, I'm afraid, but FF definitely is nice and convenient!
an someone teach me the ways of foraging dari cloves? i find them from time to time and know where most spawn BUT i have questions. can only 1 be on the map at a time? does a new one spawn after 1 despawns? do they only spawn a certain time of day? help
Dari Cloves
- they can spawn anywhere a sweet leaf can spawn, at any time of day
- TYPICALLY only one on the map at a time (per server)
- 5 minute despawn time after first picked
- 30 minute respawn timer (starts at full despawn) until the next one spawns
The respawn timer is per server, and even for servers that came up at the same time (e.g., after maintenance), the timer "creeps" due to differences in initial pick times.
If you stay on one server, you can reliably set a timer to go sweep again.
Otherwise, server-hopping with a group who can cover the map with trackers can be pretty effective, especially if you can hop around regions.
You can also sometimes find dari in the rummage pile. IF the person who found it has already got all the quests and recipes out of that pile, everyone else who has also met that condition (and hasn't gotten that pile yet that day) can come loot a dari from it, too :) We've gotten a dozen people a dari clove each that way before, pretty awesome.
Lastly, you can buy them with foraging medals, 12 medals each. That's 8 dari cloves per week from weeklies, plus more from leveling up foraging. XP-boosted flow tree chops can be quite effective; next-best in my experience is just picking everything in sight in the course of your regular running around.
So quick question how do I unlock this food recipe call boullillabaisse or seafood stew I try looking it up and it's not really helpful I heard it's rare to get it and it might be hard to get the recipe
Once you complete the Freshwater Bundle in the Night Sky temple you will be given the recipe
https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Bouillabaisse
The wiki lists where all the recipes can be found if you need any others :)
Ooh ok ty so much
hey fellow palians wanting to know whats the best dish to cook that gives the most xp when making it, out of all my skills cooking is still under 20 and wanting to lvl it up
Going to cooking parties helps a lot, that's what I did. Tbf my goal was making money so I went to cake parties and those level your cooking fast. I wouldn't recommend making celebration cake by yourself though cause it's a lot of ingredients. Since I leveled up fast I can't really recommend specific recipes, but making sure tour focus bar isn't empty while you cook is a must so you get that focus bonus for more xp
thank you so much ill have a look around
I agree with Astrea: Celebration Cakes at cake parties are by far the most efficient in terms of XP per dish vs. XP per time. A well-run cake party can finish the recipe in 60 seconds or less, and range from 30 to 100 rounds (times completing the recipe), typically. It gives 340 base XP per round, plus your focus bonus if you keep yourself fed. It's also pretty good money.
**Muujin Bahari **and Lucky Braised Fish both give more XP per round (380 and 540 base XP, respectively) but they take much longer:
Muujin Bahari is rarely less than a minute per round at even the best-run parties; 90 seconds is more typical. It's decent for money.
LBF, meanwhile has timed flips that mean you CANNOT complete it in less than two minutes, even if you get all the prep work done very quickly. (The fish has to braise!) Not really recommended for money, either, as the dish sell value for some reason completely leaves out the 5 green onion and 2 ginger that go into it.
Still, the latter two can be nice for variety.
So, that's the heavy hitters... but don't discount **campfire cooking **as a source of XP, too. If you are doing a lot of fishing, consider grilling up and common or uncommon unstarred fish you were planning to sell anyway. With 4 campfires, you can get the time per fish down to about 5 seconds. It gives 20 base XP per. Not as good as cakes (4 base XP/s vs. almost 6), and not as profitable, but worth doing imo.
But tbh cooking anything with other people (to make it cheaper and faster) will be a nice way to level up, so you can always just make your preferred focus food with some neighbors and go about it that way.
Yeah a while back I used to go to weekly cake parties with a group where most cake would take us between 30 to 40 seconds to complete, that was awesome. Also grilled fish give a decent amount of worms/glow worms so you can kill 2 birds with 1 stone
Thank you so much. I’ve been playing since the game came out and didn’t really do the cake parties at the time and I’ve been away from the game for about 6months to a year so trying to get the things completed I didn’t do before the new update comes out.
Can I help cook anyone
can I ask a dumb question. what do yall do with all the dishes you cook? do you expend enough energy to eat them all? do you sell them?
You can sell or hold on to them
Only one you can set out is starred dishes
By the way there is no dumb questions
I've been holding onto them, but it seems like I'm cooking faster than I can eat so they're piling up. I was just wondering if it was common to sell them like other stuff.
You need food to keep your energy bar up doing stuff like cooking and others so you gain experience points
I sell them if you want but sometime people will requested food items
in my case, i cook in BULK, so i can sell the non star ones n keep the starred ones, then display 1 type of food each as far as my counters or tables could hold
and i get to eat the extras whenever my focus gets low
If you are NOT expending enough energy to eat what you are making - many reasons this could happen - I just wanna double check: what is your focus bonus percentage? (you can check this by hovering over your focus bar on the Inventory pane)
100% is the maximum (i.e., double XP on everything you earn XP for as long as you have enough focus to cover it), and the higher your bonus, naturally, the faster you will go through your focus bar
Of course, it depends what you're doing and what food you're cooking - like @teal oyster always touts a cake party as lasting him for months, but a level grinding friend group of mine needs several cake parties a WEEK to keep up with their focus usage. XD
(Me, I cannot fathom eating something that gives only 4 focus per gold eaten, or having to wait until I've lost a chunk of focus bonus before I eat, so, I sell my cakes, especially if they're made with apples to purposely make them more valuable.)
The cooked dishes don't seem to sell for very much, comparted to the cost of ingredients. I want to raise my cooking skill, but I already have more food than I need for focus.
They don't if you're cooking alone, but if you split the ingredients with others, some of the recipes can be pretty profitable, especially those that use more valuable ingredients and/or a larger quantity of them all together
see here for more discussion: #🍳│cooking-foraging message
update from when I asked about Mushroom Soup… Apparently that is actually Cream of Mushroom soup? Just a different name ig
Is there any specific food that gives more xp than others or is it all just the same xp.
here's the best explanation for it! #🍳│cooking-foraging message
Thank you.
Other than a few rare exceptions, kitchen-cooked recipes give XP amounts proportional to the number of minigame steps they have (chop, stir, flip, roll, mix, and bake) x 20. For example, fish stew has 2 minigame steps: chop garlic, and stir the soup. It gives 40 base XP.
So, yes, they vary, and obviously the more complex recipes give more XP than simpler ones.
All campfire recipes give 20 base XP.
The wiki has a chart of all the XP amounts: https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Experience#Cooking
Any other Switch players having issues with not being able to move after using a Prep Station? Usually specifically if I cook multiple meals in a row/one really long meal. And only cooking alone, if I'm in a party it's fine
is there anyone in here who can make the following? i have all ingredients just not the recipes and they're the last things i need for vaults ;;
- trout dinner
- muujin bahari
I can. Are you online rn?
i am!
so im planning on cooking shepps pie for like 30 times or so now ... if 1-2 people wanna join feel free to join ^^
i enjoy cooking so dont want too many hehe 😄
when a cooking party where you planned to take 1 role turns around and you end up as the impropmtu host with up to 6 roles 😂
It was chaos, but in the end we managed.
If any of my amazing Bahari Mujin Crew from today reads this: THANK YOU
Hello, i need help making muujin Bahari, but i don't haeve the recipe. Can someone help me please ? ( sorry if my english is bad, i use google translate)
sure, whats your in game name?
When will palia be available on PS5
i think its may 13th?
I'm curios is there a list of all the dishes that have fish in them what focus and gold value they have depending on the fish?
yes there is i think ren got it
Focus amounts don't change with varying ingredients, only with whether the dish is starred or not (starred food gives 150% of the base focus amount)
This message has both a spreadsheet (which includes gold amounts for all of the "Any Fish" dishes for ALL fish types, via dropdown) and a chart with gold amounts for the top several tiers of rare and epic fish:
#🍳│cooking-foraging message
None of the fish dishes are (in my estimation) particularly efficient as focus food. Fish are expensive, even the cheap ones.
But they are included in my What to Eat spreadsheet anyway if you'd like to see how they measure up, at least for solo cooking: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qPbCKTJg8xYlR1Pw60ZkaXAERRkXaMC0r3UZZKLWQ_g/edit?gid=41849516#gid=41849516
I haven't done revenue analysis comparing different fish for the specific-fish dishes (e.g., fried catfish dinner, bouillabaisse, trout dinner) but I suppose I could, if there's demand for it?
I was just wondering if I should sell certain fishes and keep others for maybe throwing a cooking party at some point to then sell the dishes made from them
For me personally, the cutoff is rare fish caught with glow worms on up. Those turn out to be about equal to cakes when made into sashimi/fish stew/fish tacos. (Dishes made with epic fish will obviously be worth a lot more.)
Basically, anything in that chart by Sennel Deuragonov that I linked above (plus, arguably, midnight paddlefish).
Anything caught with no bait or worms, or common/uncommon glow worm fish, can all be either sold as-is if the fish are already starred, or unstarred ones can be grilled first, if you want a chance at the grilled fish gaining +50% value if they turn out starred.
I use whatever the cheapest/easiest fish available is if I'm making a dish I intend to eat, like for fishing buffs. No-bait fish from your home pond is simple enough for the any-fish ones, and I like rainbow trout (Kilima rivers, no bait, any time) for trout dinner.
Since fishing buff food doesn't benefit at all from being starred (buff is the exact same strength/duration), using unstarred stuff is just fine.
It's actually kind of annoying for me if the fishing buff food turns out starred, because then I can't fill requests using it
Oh: if you're going for the dish-completion accomplishments, or like to help others with them, you'll want to keep a few of the following in star quality:
- Bahari bream
- any trout (I like rainbow trout)
- any bass (I recommend Bahari bass, but you might have black sea bass on hand)
- any catfish (I recommend Kilima catfish)
Thank you so much for your answer 💜
Will help me clear some storage space, since I'm a terrible hoarder who always thinks I should keep a certain stack of everything in case I'll need it
by the way I took a peak at some of the spreadsheets there. Remembers me of another game I used to play for over a year where I made similar stuff.
We called it spreadsheet magic, so thank you for doing the speadsheet magic for Palia
When I started making spreadsheets for the game, I knew I was well and truly in it XD
(meant I was invested enough to want to spend time figuring out systems for myself)
But almost all of the stuff I've done is built on foundations laid and questions asked by lots of other people
yes but you collected all that info together, wrote it down and share your knowledge with others
So I cant make placeable ramen????
yes you can
You get the recipe for ramen when reaching cooking level 3
Then you only need to make a star dish
That one you can place in your home
ive tried making a star dish!! but i dont have any star quality eggs and idk how to get them :c
there are no star quality eggs in the game
what am i missing then? i had everything else star quality
but not all ingredients need to be starred. Sometimes it's just bad rng that you end up with non-star quality even if you have the best ingredients, cook fast and make no mistakes
ohhhh
ok thank you!
you're welcome, keep trying
If you want, I can hop on and we try together until we get it starred
Thank you but thats alright!! I'm a persistent gal, ill get there 😤
looking for someone that has the mushroom soup recipe i need a mushroom soup for a quest just too cook up a quick batch
if you still need this, I’m happy to cook it with you
sorry i was at the store i do still need to do that !!!
no worries, just send me a fr and ping me here when you would like to cook!
we can do it now if you would like?
Is there a way for me to use my starred veggies without using starred spices? I thought I was doing myself a favor of upgrading all my veggie seeds but now all I have is quality veggies and no quality spices to cook with. Any recommendations are helpful
ye slockbox ur starred ones and it will allow u to select unstarred if u have them
there really should make the checkbox have a prefer unstarred option ...
abnd default to lowest gold value ingredient and make it so u can selects tarred and unstarred
but alas they chose this super nonsensical way of doing thigns (probs so poeple dont use their starred epic fish by accident or osmething
I totally don't understand why when you make a normal dish you can't switch to star ingredients, if you lack normal ones
It easily allows you to use unstarred ingredients in a dish where star was selected, why not the other way round???
exactly but hey it works the way it does and we have to nonstop click allow starred
Thanks, I did not think of using the lockbox although it should have been obvious.
slockbox
Ment to type yeS Lockbox
I know, just giggling at the result XD
Whats the best ingredients to use for a fish stew party?
depends on party type u want money fish stew or consumptioon fish stew
money fish stew
See the spreadsheet and chart in this message: #🍳│cooking-foraging message
Hey guys I'm just wondering where can I get sushi recipe? All ik is that I need to use glow worms??
And it's not only that I've been trying to do the ponds where the bubbles are at idk if I'm doing it right or what
recipes outside bubbles only
same for quest items
(build an entire monument of starred fish to remember himself of that costly mistake)
It's really rare. It took me nearly 5irl days of fishing a couple hours each day.
Bubbles are starred fish though, so no bubbles.
There are two other ways to get sushi though. One is coming with someone (I can do that for you in a couple hours)
The second is befriend reth. He will give you a sushi in the mail at some point. I think friendship 3?
recipe is just fihs alot till u get luckyw ith glowrosm in a pond outside bubbles
there are things u can do to fish faster i gues
That's how I got sushi for my bundle anyway, I found the recipe within 10 minutes after lol
I'm already on level 3 of reth and he didn't get me recipe??
Alright thanks I'll try
recipe nope only fishing but i fu just need sushi itself theres cookign together and reth gives u appaerently is what he ment
He won't give recipe, but the food itself
OH!
like go blackmarket poeple always fish there if not server hop by going out of it and back in a couple of times get 5x fish with someone buff go to the pond
i find fishermans brew always helps alot with reeling in both succeschances and less interrutps so that speeds things up
and some faster fishing boosts like troutdiner but trouts are rare(i really should leech those form a cooking party) and mayor hooktime booster
like all faster fishing buffs make it sooo fast
Okay here's the thing he never gave me sushi. And I'm close to level 4 with him so idk if it's a glitch/bug or what
Alright I'll try that
It might be a random quest then. But DuhScape had the right idea, fish your soul out
if u really need sushi u can make it with someone
Or, if you're free in like an hour ish I can party up and we can cook together
Alright thanks I just need sushi for the temple
It's not from one of his friendship quests, but a found item quest. Quest spoilers: ||A Device in the Hand, starts from finding this item: https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Small_Handheld_Device ||
Ooo ok ty!
@golden gyro
You will get 1 Suhsi in star Quality from Reth that you could place as decoration in your home.
There is another quest where you potentially can get an unstarred version for the bundle.
||When Tamala tells you to talk to 3 people, one of those has to be Jel for him to gift the Sushi to you
https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Mysterious_Brew||
or last method, once you got sushi once through ANY of these ways, you can always request unstarred version from other players again
Once again I didn't get any 1 star sushi from reth or unless I have to be a higher up level with him as for tamala I still on level 1 or 2 with her so thanks for the info I'll try that aswell
The starred sushi is from the quest I was talking about, not friendship
OH!
The one for Tamala is also a found item quest
okay I get it now thanks guys it means alot ^^
If I ask on general I'm pretty sure no one won't help me like befoe so I appreciate it
cmon lonewolf this is the perfect oppurtunity to work on ur social chef achivement
It says in tamalas room and I don't have her key I need to reach for level 3 correct? Or unless I can go to her room without one
Yeah ik but sense finding the recipe gonna take a min I just need one rq for the temple :T
uhm its random so it can take very long or be very fast but if u use the speedfishing tips i gave ya its decently fast 10min or something
in order to go into her room you'll need to be level 3 friendship with her
I figure as much
I just got home. Do you want to party up and we'll make it? I have the other recipes too, except mujinn bahari
Oh I'm not on palia now but i have alot of info and help so no I'm good thanks tho!
If I need help with other recipie and stuff I yet you know when we can be in a party ^^
So what's the best way to level cooking? Need that muujin bahari recipie.
Join cake parties! They are one of the fastest, most cost-efficient ways to earn cooking XP. Check #1143270926394335282 and PaliaParty.app (just a website, not an app you install) for publicly-posted ones.
ALSO, make sure you have your focus bonus % upgraded all the way at the Phoenix Shrine (where you originally spawned into the game).
Assuming your focus bonus is 100% (max upgrade), cake parties earn you 340 base XP + 340 focus bonus XP per round as long as you keep yourself fed — or, in other words, one cooking level every 7-8 rounds of cake.
The fastest way to gain cooking XP solo is probably campfire cooking (with a circle of 4-5 campfires). If you grill unstarred fish you were going to sell anyway, it's reasonably worthwhile, money-wise, too.
Yea I wish I had known about the Phoenix shrine earlier. Literally learned about it tonight after having bought all my writs and raised my focus to 800. May do the solo thing. Way to shy and afraid I'll mess up somehow to do cooking parties. Thanks for the info
Definitely push your focus bonus up first before you go doing any serious grinding, then :)
In the meanwhile, cooking regular focus food (either by yourself or with a friend or two) will also contribute pretty well to your cooking level
I feel you on that
I found out about the Phoenix shrine long after maxing the focus to 1.000 and having at least 15 levels each skill
I can tell u how to get over cooking party anxietys invthis channel ifvu need
There are also beginner-friendly parties on PPA :)
and it doesn't hurt to tell people you're a beginner. 😉
does anyone know how many stations would one need for a fish stew or cake party or just cooking parties in general? i wanna make a plot so i can start doing parties but im unsure on how many stations I should do... including over prep
if you want to host parties, you might also want to consider making "low sensory stations" for people who might feel overwhelmed easily when hearing or seeing other players cooking/running/jumping around all the time.
I have seen some designs with building blocks making a single "room" with one each of the 4 cooking stations inside and minimalistic decor.
Might also be a good idea to play around how far away stations can be for players to still be able to read the nearby chat of each other. Low sensory could be just out of reach for other cooking stations, but close enough to your own station to read your messages as host. Or still near enough to read everyone else.
If you allow overpreparation on meals, it's always good to have some extra stations standing around or at least in your inventory ready to be placed.
Fish Stew for example is normally a two people recipe max.
One starter who has the fish and heat root. The other cuts garlic.
So 1 stove and 1 prep station.
If you allow overprep, then you could have one starter and potentially 10 or more people cutting garlic, which means you will need 10 or more prep stations for them.
Same with cooking rice for a recipe like Sushi or Sashimi on multiple stoves.
Omg i never thought about low sensory stations
ill def take this into account! Thank u!!
I can make screenshots next time I see a cooking plot with these stations.
I was also considering building my own cooking plot and maybe ask in #♿│accessibility-discussions what people need or don't need for their sensory issues.
For some it might be enough to be a bit further away.
I was at a cake party where a lot of people were running and jumping around because they got bored between their cooking steps.
And 3 people asked the host, if their stations could be transfered into another room so they could have a bit more of a quiet space
i know if cooking parties become too long i can disassociate from the game 🫨but also if alot of people are constantly moving I get distracted😭ill def ask in the channel!!
to be honest if I have an easy part at the start and then only have to wait for completion (especially if my role has overpreppers) I often tab out of the game and read/write on discord.
Or let a youtube video run on the second screen.
Cause I wouldn't be able to concentrate on this one thing for an hour without doing something else
The range on Nearby chat is 50 meters!
oh I have been at a cooking party earlier and noticed some people are able to cancel some cooking animations to be quicker?
I noticed the person beside me was able to cancel the animation when you torn on the stove, your character "claps" the right side.
Does someone know how you do this`?
I was just taught how to do this a day or two ago!
uhh
for some reason when I tried to paste in the tutorial it got blocked, and I have no idea why
Stove Animation Cancel
aka Skip the "tap tap" animation for rice etc.
- Have a bug bomb in your hand (or bow drawn, but that makes a lot of clatter)
- Interact with stove (F)
- Select "Make"
- As you come out of the menu, press sprint keybind (Shift) to skip animation
- Interact with stove (F)
- Tap or hold to stir (right mouse button)
(Adjust the above for any keybind changes you may have made.)
ALSO works on controller:
(Don't forget the bug bomb!)
A, A, Y, A, A
(interact, make, sprint, interact, stir)
With thanks to Whiterose Is Me for teaching me how to do this at a sashimi party :)
oh, it's a particular kind of formatting that isn't permitted
the hyphen hash for small text
That's silly
I also learned while trying to figure out what the function of the Shift key was that if you double-tap Shift (or presumably your sprint keybind) it pulls you out of the aiming mode for bow and belt :D
thanks I should try practice at home, sounds complicated first, but probably is just abit of training
Yeah, just takes a little practice. It boils down to:
- bug bomb out
- open stove - Make - sprint key to skip animation - interact and make ingredient
Where do I get apple pie recipe?!
The recipe can be obtained by reaching Friendship level 3 with Delaila. It's in her room.
Ahhh thanks
Where do you usually get the fish stew recipe in Palia?
Fish stew is obtained by fishing at Bahari Coast with worms at any time of day. It's a fairly rare recipe to reel in, I'm still struggling with it myself.
I see
To add on what @peak trench said, make sure you're fishing OUTSIDE of the bubbles
Alright, I’ll start doing that. I thought fishing in the bubbles gave me better chances.
Fishing in bubbles just gives you a bit better chance of starred fish.
Ah, okay!
bubbles only not for quest items and recipes
I see
Hello! I've seen folks with flow trees growing on their own plots. How do you plant/acquire these? I've many hours into the game and have completed all main quests, and I'm now starting on bundles. TY!
bundle decor item gives random seed once per day
Where/how do you get the bundle decor item? Is this related to completing bundles in the night sky temple?
yes just keep comping em i think earthen bundle
As DS said, flow trees seeds are from the reward statue you get from completing the Vault of the Roots bundles. You also have to complete a follow-up quest, The Gardener's New Oneness, for it to start giving you flow seeds. (Otherwise, it's only regular tree seeds.)
The statue gives you a random tree seed every day, with a 25% total chance of getting a flow tree seed (any of the 4 types)
But with some clever inventory finagling and some patience for server-hopping, you can get it to give you a flow tree seed every day. :)
I mean i got to many flow seeds anyways
Oh okay so AFTER I complete the Vault of the Roots bundles, THEN a new quest will appear "The Gardener's New Oneness" - in my list. Nice, I think I'm getting it finally 🙂
Hi is anyone free at the momment to help me with a quest I need to cook an item for one the ncp. But I don't have the recipe. I have the items needed just need someone who has the cream of mushrooms recipe to start it so I can help make it and take it when its done
Hope this gets me through a full day of buying out Zeki's Underground shop
Bruh u need that many blackmarket items?
I'm probably around 2 million already spent on my project every item in every color.
That's at least 245k to get all 3 Ravenwood paintings for example
So yeah a lot of cooking in between grinding for other materials to craft
I approve your project
How do u get all the makeshift every color then xd
Or the dyable one per person cows from a friendship quest
well I obviously can't have the quest items
One because I can't replicate them but second they are also not modifiable.
And well Makeshift and also the Valley Sunrise and the pirate themes .... grinding.... lot's of more grinding
Cows are dyable xd
Hopefully u got plenty seasonable items stockpiled id love to see the plot with all of ur stuff
well... I have to see if this one would be tradable since it's a plushie
Which means in the end I only need like 6 alternative accounts, grinding for that one quest and then trade with my main XD
Teach me hoe i want the cow in every color to
well aside from the Makeshift Garden Chappa and the Makeshift Chappa Rug, I think nothing from the Maji Market was modifiable.
And like all of the other stuff from Spooky or New Year I have looked at on the wiki, wasn't as well
Or did you mean something else by seasonable?
I have to look into it more, but I imagine I could download the game from the stand alone launcher and use a different account for that, than my steam is?
I mean I also have 2 switches and a ps5 that I could utilize.
Need to take a closer look at the fine print if anything like that would be prohibited.
But since I saw a plushi plot with at least 30 Tau plushis.... You can't tell me every last one was traded/gifted by a real player
Some twitchers gove away plush to i heard
you know I used to work in a shop where we also sold plushis that were food related like pizza slice or 4 different kinds of sushis.
We already have the carrot plushi. Would be funny if someday we can get plushis from cooking, too
imagine, one in a thousand cake recipes completed gives you a bonus cake plush
No dont give them ideas more plushgrind nooo
I will never run out of food then
Also veggy plush dhould be from gardening for sure
sudden increase in cooking parties, cause all the plushi hunters need to cook more
piece of cake
Heyyy ! I'm looking for the Sernuk noddle stew recipe (star)... i don't have the lvl 3 with Ashura... can someone help me please ? I'm actually in game on the European server :3 thank you soooooo much! 🙏🙏
you mean you look for someone who can cook it with you?
If so, add me and come to my plot
Yes to cook with me :3
Thanks I do it now
why isnt Sernuk Noodle Stew in my inventory. I read the recipe in Ashura’s room but cant cook it….
check your quest items, maybe?
Some recipes go there and have to be read from there for some reason
Otherwise... I don't know
Ill try that, thanks
Quick question, did mushroom quiche replace quiche caleri because I only have mushroom quiche and I don't know how I don't have the quiche caleri recipe yet?
Think theres 2 quiche
it's weird because I don't have the quiche caleri but I don't understand why :/
maybe its quest
can always use paliatracker recipes section
you get it from the ||Pages Unseen Quest||!
and here's the link to the wiki! https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Quiche_Caleri
thank you!
of course!
It starts on the stove at home - were you able to check for it there? (you don't get a recipe in your inventory, you just learn it from reading the book)
Make sure you don't have a filter on when you check the stove - those can be sneaky!
hi yall, can someone with 2 spicy peppers help me cook something?
Anyone gonna be online that can help me cook the sashimi recipe? I have the ingredients, just not the recipe!
did the spicy stir fry recipe change or is my game bugged? it should be red meat instead of crab no? and any vegetable instead of corn.. i'm also pretty sure when i made it the meat got used not the crab (not 100% sure tho)
anyone else need some fishing foods i do but i dont have any friends or anything lmao and its hard to cook alone
hi guys, can i help someone cook sushi, trout dinner, and muujin bahari for my bundles?
sure, send me a fr! (probably will be on tomorrow afternoon)
awesome, thank you so much!
anybody willing to help me with the muujin bahari for my bundles i have all ingredients just not the recipe
add me ingame and come over, we can quickly cook it together. Also check if you have any other recipe's missing for achivements. We can do those as well if you want
silly question but i cant remember for the life of me...do u need starred ingredients for starred recipes? or its ok to use reg...trying to figure out if i need to buy reg corn cuz i have a lil starred corn left
starred ingredients (as well as some other steps) increase your chance for starred dishes, but it is never guaranteed! you can use regular ingredients and still get starred, or use all starred and still get non-starred dishes
thank u!
ive had my brain off so i can fish and build that i forgot lmao
bro when do you sleep?
never is what I would say if that was true
but there is a reason why my general discord name has "insomniac" in it
That's less than 200 rounds of sushi... maybe 2 hours, if the party was slowish? Even 100x poke doesn't take all that long in a group. XD
where is your self care though like ahhh
yeah sushi is both quick and profitable if you only have to contribute the rice and the host uses epic fish
(or sweet leaf!)
self care who`? Don't know that name
please make people food and either sleep or something like this goes for everyone
i mean real life people food
i know this is the cooking group but still
I'm giggling that a 2-hour party is what's prompting this level of concern
not even the 600-round cake party one group hosts every so often
(which I find baffling tbh)
don't worry, I eat irl when I have stuff at home
and I do sleep. Not as regular as I wish it was and sometimes it's under 6 hours and sometimes it's over 10 hours but hey... Without Palia I would be the same, so ... while Palia is my current addiction, it's not the cause. It's a symptom ^^
yeah well yall clearly do this a lot so yes you need sleep and like pasta or something
holy moly what?
my brain would shut down from 600 round cake party
saaaaaame I barely make it through a 60x some days
(sushi is MUCH faster than cakes)
I try to do 1-3 cooking parties a day. 2 for money and one for focus, depending on what is available on palia party.
So that is 1-6 hours max per day spent on cooking parties
6 hours would be the extreme end
please don't call me child if we don't know how old we are in here
okay sorry
I'm living alone for more than 15 years and even longer with mental health issues.
So I know how to keep myself alive
And I know this is just a downphase where I grind hard in a game until I get out of it again
Yeah I know you mean well, but that level of... idk what you'd call it - scandalized concern? doesn't feel supportive to me
But perhaps you ( .. ) are speaking to someone else who isn't present or who is in other circumstances, where that kind of lecture would be well-received and appropriate
I get why someone is concerned in general about patterns like this.
I also tell people to sleep and eat and hydrate, take care of them.
But I also try to be respectful, cause even if you talk to a teenager, they are already old enough to not be treated like a child. Still minors and a lot to learn, won't argue on that.
But most people who do have these patterns already know it's not good.
Just like someone with a phobia (aka irrational fear) knows it's irrational to be afraid of a small non poisonous spider for example
I think my patterns are perfectly reasonable for my circumstances, lol
I am playing the game to keep my brain engaged and to be social/ spend time with people
It's not replacing anything else, for me
Anyway, that's getting a little deep into things for the cooking channel, apologies
Happy to continue this convo in a less public setting if needed
will never forget how my therapist once asked me out loud how I still keep dragging myself out of a depression phase again and again after all the sh... stuff I have been through
People say: When you fall, get up and try again.
I like to say: When you fall, you are allowed to lie on the floor bit and rest enough to ensure you have the strength to get up and not fall down immediately again.
So playing Palia is now my "allowing myself to lie and rest"
agreed. Sorry. This maybe escalated a bit here ^^
could someone help me cook Phoenixfire Relleno and Chapaa Masala for the bundle? i have the ingredients just not the recipe
feel free to add me and come over to my plot. I have both recipes
fun fact about the earlier topic: I often use cooking parties to snack on something or if I manage to remember I make myself a meal and eat during a cooking party
Does anyone need help to cook something? I need to level up my cooking real quick, and I have most recipes and ingredients
41 minutes for this cooking party. I also solved one sudoku puzzle during the party.
(I started to time my cooking by audio cues. When I hear other ovens being turned on I click right (I keybound the F interaction button with cooking stations also to right mouse button), then left to click okay for cooking rice, then right again to interact with the station and then keep pressing left until I hear the ding of being completed.
Moneys
Is this current?
Hi! Sorry for the late response, I will be in game in a short while but won't play for long probably. Would love to help tho!

If I'm understanding this right, the typical way cooking parties are done doesn't make much sense to me.
It seems that each person brings all of the required amount of one ingredient. But for recipes with wildly different costs between ingredients, this would be very imbalanced.
My first instinct regarding how I would have assumed it worked is that each person brings the total required materials for a portion of the cook, and then materials are split up between the taskers, that way each person is contributing the same investment in gold value.
Or is there no way to simply trade items in large batches and that's why people don't do it this way?
yeah you can't trade large amounts of ingredients, you only get like 5 requests per day iirc. i guess you could all swap roles part way through the cooking party but that makes it more complicated to organize.
i think in reality many people aren't that concerned about fairness in terms of contributions between players, as long as you're making a profit. if you are concerned about fairness then you can sign up for a high cost role at one cooking party and then sign up for a low cost role at the next one.
some cooking parties also have one person cover multiple roles, although i think that's usually for practical reasons (couldn't get enough people to sign up, or people had to leave, or were having technical issues)
Yeah I can see that, with the limitations on exchanging items. Organization being a priority and such. Trying to get a bit of a handle on the concept before trying to do any small-scale hosting.
A lot of people also have more ingredients than they know what to do with and enjoy taking on the more expensive roles in order to help others out!
I would assume though for something like Poke, (or anything requiring something like Dari) that it wouldn't be as unusual to cycle through different people depending on how much each person has
Has anyone on the steam deck noticed they glitch when cooking rice? I have been attending lots of cooking parties the last couple days and have been fine every time unless I do rice, both times I’ve done rice I’ve glitched like crazy and just get stuck and can’t interact with the stove
So when it comes to starred cooking...
I know that using star ingredients increases the chance of a star result (along with other factors like speed and cooking level), and that clicking the option to use starred ingredients will force you to use them unless you only have the regular for some of the steps, then it lets you use those instead.
What I'm wondering is, does the formula for starred result probability only account for the checkbox being clicked/not clicked, or does it account for each ingredient, such that if you don't have one for one of the steps, and are forced to fill in with a normal, it will proportionally lower your probability of a starred result?
And the same question in reverse, if I ONLY have a starred item for a particular step, but DON'T click the box, and am forced to use it, does it still give me a bonus accounting for the one part of the recipe that I did use a star ingredient?
i don't think it even lets you start a recipe if you don't have all the ingredients in normal quality and the box isn't checked. you have to check the box to be able to use star ingredients at all
the probability of getting a star dish doesn't seem to be understood in perfect detail, but from what i understand each star quality ingredient you use increases the chance of getting a star dish. but you're never guaranteed a star dish, and you can get a star dish even when using all normal quality ingredients.
also i'm not sure it's been confirmed cooking level has any effect on star dish probability?
Ah so use of star ingredients only goes on way, but you can fill in with normals on the parts you're missing.
If the contribution of bonus is the same regardless of the ingredient, then it would seem most advantageous to use non-star fish with star everything else, since the value calculation doesn't use the star value of the ingredients as a base, you're spending opportunity cost of the difference in ingredient value in exchange for star-result probability, and the cheapest slots for that are the ingredients with the lowest base values, while forcing a non-starred rare/epic fish for baseline value.
Can exploit lockbox to force non-star fish in the recipe
in order to start a recipe you have to have the STARTER ingredients, but you don't have to have the rest for the record!
ah right thanks for the correction!
Could anyone share a general cooking party layout with me? Or one that isn’t for a cake party?
These are sometimes called rotary or rotational parties, where everyone brings, say 1x to 10x of each ingredient plus enough to overprep for the other rounds. Then everyone rotates through the different tasks. They are fairly popular, but tend to be private parties, since they're harder to teach to total newcomers.
Opinion: They ARE more complicated to organize, especially because some people (for example) like to fish, and some people would rather hunt dari cloves, etc. etc. You can request dari cloves, but you can't request starred fish... so the fish turns in to a bottleneck to participation, in my experience, even if the total number required is very low. However, they do ensure that things are evenly distributed among all participants, so there's that.
I mostly go off of the idea that, within any community, for the most part, things "work out in the wash." Sometimes you're the fish-bringer, and sometimes you're the onion chopper going home with almost 3k per onion XD
Some parties also will do like a partial rotation, where, say, you chop fish for 20 rounds, then overprep or do a free role the rest of the time.
Also, Palia tends to have a "problem" of abundance: if you LIKE to fish, then you might end up stacking up dozens (sometimes hundreds) of high-value fish, and then it seems like a shame to just sell them, not to mention it's less profit. Instead, there is a strong incentive to share. You can't KEEP them indefinitely, because even storing them on a plot, you will eventually run out of space.
(When my community ran a (tiny) rotary poke party in early days, before the recipe was widely available again, we ended up having people practically demanding to provide extra rounds of fish! My co-host at the time ended up starting a whole separate party just to accommodate them. XD)
However, you are absolutely right that the relative weight of opportunity cost contribution varies HUGELY among roles. I have a whole spreadsheet analyzing this, actually.
(...gosh, sorry for the freakin' wall of text. Apparently I'm extra-verbose on brainpudding days.)
was waitin for it
I don't know how to feel about this XD
dw i look forward to it LMAO i always learn something and you talk about it in the same ways i've ranted to my friends about the lore
In my initial testing, the star rate contribution of materials seems to be weighted by their unstarred sell value. Using unstarred epic fish (for example) can tank the star rate of the recipe (baseline/minimum seems to be ~50% with all unstarred ingredients, btw), whereas with starred high-value fish, the star rate goes up to around 90-95%. Higher-value fish seem to pull the star rate around more than cheaper ones; this is true of most ingredients, but it's just especially dramatic with fish, since the unstarred sell value range on those is 30g to 1220g
(Compare forageables, which only have a range of 11g to 145g, or produce, 23g to 64g for unstarred)
I still don't have a formula pinned down for star rate, though
I haven't even fully figured out how I would go about gathering data for that
So many variables 😩
Typical star rate for most recipes does seem to be about 66%, though, with the usual practice of starred produce and unstarred everything else
Hi ! I gotta quest, cook for Reith what seems to be some square chocolat (can't remember the name), I have everything needed, but on the recipe, it seem's that I miss something, like the last skills is red. I don't understand
For the Petit Fives, you need extra counters. If you hover over the red icon, usually it will tell you which bit of kit you're missing. Otherwise, the wiki has all the details: https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Petit_Fives
It seems it needs two prep stations.
No, you have the recipe. If your kitchen only has one prep statin, it means you need to build and place another prep station. You can do that at your worktable.
Ohhhhh
I thought one was enough. I have the mix station, the prep station, the cooking station and the last one, I didn't think it has to be double
you'll eventually need two of every station in order to cook every recipe
It wasn't obvious TwT
I agree, I had to search for the answer for that as well.
Just like the flipping minigame doesn't feel intuitive to me.
When you chop then you click the left mouse button at the right time, when the bar hits the target.
But with flipping it suddenly isn't working that way. Instead you have to hold down the button the whole time and then release it, once it reaches the circle target.
Some things in Palia need a better explaining in my opinion
I saw that we can desactivate the tutorial for some things. I did it cause I can't read it on my switch, thats to tiny
Maybe thats why
But yeah, some things needa be clear enough
I struggled to figure that out too. I honestly just really hate that we're forced to have two of every station. Forces you to redesign your entire kitchen if you don't go in knowing that and just doesn't lend itself well to realistic/aesthetic kitchen design imo. Why can't I just use a station twice or something?
Yeah !
I'm probably just gonna keep my main plot as a single station kitchen and then just have another plot for cooking
my main plot is supposed to be a home to 12 people, so I'm lucky that a bigger kitchen fits nicely into that concept
Do you guys prefer to cook things in a party or solo
Cause I honestly can't stand cooking without other people lol
are you guys able to cook? it doesnt let me click in ):
two things to check:
- make sure you don't have a finished dish or ruined food sitting somewhere - you'll need to pick it up before you can start a new recipe
- make sure you don't have something selected on your hotbar
none of that sadly
Hm, what happens when you try? (screenshots would be good)
it just doesnt let me press F, f works with other stuff, thought it was my F key being broken but idk it just doesnt let me press
Screenshot definitely needed please :)
I've done all mine solo just because of the blech of organizing anything for party cooking, even small scale.
Ideally, it would be nice to be able to set up something but it seems it's sort of an all-or-nothing thing on the spectrum of scale. Like if I just have 5 poke bowls to make I'd rather not bother because typical parties are making 50x or 100x of recipes with like 18 people.
All in all being able to trade items at scale would solve everything
I feel ya those more then 50-60 partys is just way to much
I have like 5 friends that like to come over and cook things so I guess I'm lucky haha
I get why people would rather deal with the whole organisation thingy once for a big amount of food instead of splitting it up again and again
But it also heavily depends on the recipe and what role you have.
100x or more cake parties have become such a pain for me, I don't attend those anymore.
100x sushi though? Easy peasy half an hour
Sushi is faster?
yeah because Sushi can be broken down in essentially 2 steps from the timing
- Rice - Sweet Leave - Fish - Heat Root
- Someone mixing the rice + vinnegar together
a cake needs a lot more steps that depend on each other.
- Sweet Leave - Fruit Frosting
- Batter - Frosting
- Cake Layer
- Jellied Cake Layer
You can't make step 3 cake layer without the batter which needs the sweet leaves first.
The other factor is: Cake parties are often not able to have many overprep roles. So if one person crashes/gets stuck or just is distracted, then the others all have to wait. Sushi parties often have 1 person for each role and the others are all overprep on rice.
Meaning if 1 of 20 rice people is late, it doesn't matter for the rest and the overall pace of the party
Because of the general fast pace of Sushi or Sashimi parties, people stay more concentrated I think.
While during a cake party, you have a lot of waiting between the next cycle
I gues once i got time i csn try sushi again pokebowls are a pain though cake so slow such slow poeple
Sashimi is even faster you start it and then you have fish + rice. Done
So if you are working on rice, you are only in danger of missing out on a cycle if you get distracted and you are too slow
As I said yesterday, 120x Sushi in 41 minutes
I would say for the same amount of cake you will be closer to 2 hours depending how well it goes
As for focus food parties I either go to Fish Stew (one starts and everyone else is just chopping garlic, so 1 step again) Edit: I switched it up, fish stew is also money
Or spicy crab fried rice (scfr) It takes a lot more ingredients but all can be done in one step. Only problem here are the green onions. You need someone who can chop the fast paced minigame of these buggers (I certainly can't, my brain refuses to work with that)
I haven't tried out Pokebowl in a while.
Could be broken down in 2 steps from what I see on palia party app. But it requires twice as much Dari Cloves than Sushi... I guess it could drag on slightly longer than Sushi, but not much.
Muujin Bahari will be forever my nightmare.
I think it even has one more step than the celebration cake
And I had to kind of take over the orginsation once over such a party, because the host was inexperienced, had to use a translator to communicate and then also crashed.
(I never hosted a party myself other than that and I only had one other person there who had a lot of cooking party experience
)
Fish stew focus food interesting concept
One thing to note is that cake is just stir which makes it so much easier
ah no, wait you're right fish stew is also money
i sometimes switch that up
If not for the cutting minigame id go spice crab to i gues
Fish stew was my early-game focus food for a long time, back before they raised the value of all the fish in 0.180. But that was mostly because I was an incredibly nervous cook and struggled with anything that involved timing... however, at the time it was the cheapest chop-n-stir soup. (Isn't anymore, though.)
You could OP rice for SCFR
wow then spicycrab is truly the best food in the game if only thes tove didnt have this delay to put on
Have you learned how to skip the "tap tap good stove" animation?
Makes it SO much smoother once you get some practice in
so if i understood that message correctly it just skips the naimation of putting hte stove on ic ic
i mean since the put stove on animation is 50% of that time its fine
Also makes it much faster if you're placing rice down for someone else, or even when just starting a stove recipe and then moving to a prep table or something
Though I do end up occasionally threatening my food with a bug bomb XD
XD
For the green onions, I learned at an LBF party friendly competition that if the green onion person can consistently animation cancel to skip the chop countdown, it's equally as fast to do that and then chop every other beat vs. wait out the countdown and chop on every beat
obviously you can do both to be super duper fast! but SCFR is only as fast as the slowest chopper, and green onion is very short anyway
tbh if all your choppers are super fast, sometimes the real bottleneck is trying to throw it all in the pan fast enough! lmao
Every other beat for green onion is about the same rhythm as garlic, from what I can tell
yeah but when your brain refuses to work with every second beat as well and you just miss 2-3 times and get the missing animation, it takes longer
Anyone who can do the minigame without a mistake is faster than me
True!
I'd rather stockpile starred Bahari crabs anyway XD
aaaa I am so excited for new recipes!
dont u have to wait a little bit to give overpreppers time to be done
that's what I mean that sometimes you will miss out on a round, if you were distracted and too slow.
I notice that most people will wait for the last overpreppers to finish their step.
However you can't start your participation as soon as the first person has finished theirs. So you have to get started before the very quick and animation canceling people finish
i gues it depends on the party some are more speedrun while others be more chill obviously u should never wait so long that it ends up being more costly then poeaple missing a round
Our SCFR parties generally don't wait, but we also warn folks that they are speed runs. As long as you finish chopping or whatever before the flip finishes, you get credit, and if folks have trouble with the UI, they are recommended to join as garlic (first on the prep table) or rice (no chopping).
SCFR's whole strength is that it is fast. 35 minutes for 60 rounds.
If it slows down, then it has no advantage over most other recipes, in my personal opinion; but obviously different folks will have different considerations around it, and there's not really a WRONG way to do it...
If you want the nice mental math of 400/600 focus, there's always petit fives, which is much more similar to cakes in structure (same leaf -> batter -> oven -> final step -> assembly flow), and definitely has plenty of time in each round for OP
finally got the Kilima Koi Pond for 1120 skill medals
Less than 2 months playing and foraging level 51
I hate these stupid oysters. I’ve opened over 60 of them and I still don’t have a green pearl
Ironically it’s also gotten me most of the money I currently have because of the amount of oyster meat and shells I’ve been collecting
u can request stuff form other players 4 times per day u can use that for more unopoened oysters others often have way to many anyways
up to 4 extra chance sper day yey
I feel like 4 requests are not worth something you can find within 1 minute of going to get the daily rummage pile, but you're not wrong
Doing both be best unles u got better stuff to request
If someone can make a recipe that I don't have and help them make it can I receive that dish?
If anyone can make muujin bahari and can help lmk pls 🙏🏽
Yes, it does work that way!
How can I level up my cooking faster? Feel like I’ve been stuck even with cooking everything!!
You can join cooking parties in here #1143270926394335282 or make some of these dishes with higher XP for your daily focus food.
https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Experience#Cooking
First thing I always check: have you been raising your focus bonus % at the Phoenix Shrine (where you first spawned into the game)? The maximum is 100%. You can check your current focus bonus percent on PC by hovering over your focus bar on the Inventory pane.
but, agreed, cake parties in particular are a great way to push your cooking level quickly. At 100% focus bonus, 1 cake is 680 XP, so you level up every 7-8 rounds.
Cakes are VERY slow to cook alone (and expensive!), but in parties, splitting the effort and ingredients with others, they're reasonably profitable, and generally take about a minute per round.
Hey everyone!! I’m missing a few food items for the vault bundles, I need Chaapa Masala, Trout dinner, phoenix fire reliano, apple pie and Muujin Bahari, I have all the ingredients for all of the recipes just not the recipes themselves, does anyone mind to help me cook them?
so i got the catfish dinner recipe from hassian’s grove. why cant i see it or cook it now? its not popping up at the cooking station or campfire
feel free to add me ingame as friend and we can cook those recipes together
a) some recipes end up in your quest item inventory first and have to be read from there.
b) It's called Fried Catfish Dinner and is cooked on the stove. Maybe you only looked for dishes beginning with C?
c) if you go back to read it again and you don't get it, sounds like a bug then and needs a support ticket
I sent you a friend request in game!
got it, come over. I'm at my plot right now :3
How does one make the macarons?
they're started at the mixing station
you need 2 mixing stations
Thank you i just got to where i can get the recipe to make mixing stations (noob)
not noob newb its ok to be new and literly everyone makes that mistake
Yes I can't say enough how many of us where surprised and dumbfounded by the concept of needing 2 cooking stations of each, so you can cook every recipe properly in the end
Once you think about it, it kind of makes sense, since the starter station is busy holding the recipe-in-progress, running the timer, etc.
From an in-world perspective, in the case of a stove, the stoves are only one "burner," and you'd need a second burner if you wanted to cook something else in another pot. Same idea that if you're assembling a cake or something delicate, you might need more counter space to do other tasks.
...but the UI absolutely does not make that clear, nor does Reth ever mention it, as far as I can recall.
Quick question, i need one more vault item which is Muujin Bahari. I am level 8 in cooking. Is it possible to cook with someone who has it then im able to get it?
Yes that works
What is the best thing to cook to level cooking (aside from cake parties)?
purely for xp?
If there is a convenient way for XP and for energy, that works for me. I usually make gold in other methods so I'm not necessarily looking to make much from cooking. At the moment, at least!
spicy crab thing is good for focus to i heard but uhm @mortal quartz you are needed
Chili oil dumplings is perfect for focus when you're at 1,000. I think it's 525 so you are just over 1k when you do two. SCFR is 625 I think, so you're wasting a bit of XP depending on how you use it.
ren has been typing for a long time bro is cooking
"Best" depends on how you define it. If you are looking for fast, then it's campfire foods. Speedy if you rotate around 4 or 5 campfires in a circle around you. They are almost as fast as cakes in terms of XP per time spent.
SCFR is VERY fast if nobody double-roles and you're all competent choppers - about 35s per round. Let me check XP per time, 1 sec
320 XP per round at full bonus for SCFR, at 35 seconds per round, average just over 9 XP per second
Cakes are 680 XP per round, 60 seconds per round on the slow side, over 11 XP per second
Lucky Braised Fish is 1080 XP per round at full bonus, MINIMUM 120 seconds per round due to timed flips, exactly 9 XP per second
Campfire foods are 40 XP each with full focus bonus, around 5 seconds each if you rotate fires, 8 XP per second
Okay, I stand corrected, there are other options... assuming you have an efficient group to cook with.
Steak dinner with 2 people is about 45s? ish? 240 XP per round at full bonus. 5.3 XP per round, and it's ime highly efficient in terms of ingredients if it's just you and one other person.
280 XP per round for stuffed cabbage rolls, typically 35-45s per round.
idk how fast chili oil dumplings can be, because every COD party I've been to has had at least one person badly struggling with the UI
(usually peppers)
I want to be able to eventually host parties on my plot, if i did a cooking party for like...cakes. what all would i need to build for it?
I think the minimum for a single-role cake party is
4 prep stations (1 starter, 3 spread)
11 mixing stations (4 sweet leaf, 3 batter, 3 fruit frosting, 1 regular frosting)
3 ovens
Plus any extra stations you want the host station to have (like an extra prep and mixing, maybe extra oven) so the host can cover someone's role if they don't show or have to step away, as well as any extra mixing stations you want to set out for potential sweet leaf overprep
3 ovens on-plot (plus 1 extra for host station) is, so far, the maximum ovens called for by any recipe
thank you 😄
ok so i know the stove animation cancel and the skipping timer for chopping, but ive seen people pretty much insta-cut fish during sashimi parties and i need to know how they're doing it
Skipping the minigame entirely? None of the animation cancelling strategies let you skip doing the actual chopping/flipping/stirring. They just get you into the minigame a little faster.
no no theres 100% people that are just skipping the chopping for fish entirely. i was in a sashimi party that literally they just touched the prep table and it was done. might not have been a 'legal' glitch but id at least like to know that its not 'legally' possible before i drive myself crazy trying to figure it out
Yep, not possible without thoroughly breaking the ToS
Is anyone planning on doing a Poke party sometime before the update next week?
You can try checking #1143270926394335282 and PaliaParty.app maybe? (not an app, just a website for coordinating/publicizing parties)
Yeah I have my eye on them. Thank you ✨️
I'm thinking about joining a cake/any other food party to get packed up before the update. But I never participated in one and have no idea about the rules, the hows and whats. I'd appreciate some help with that.
Paliaparty app website click one that beginner friendly
In general most parties have one person for one ingredient/role.
So you would for example sign up for 50 times preparing Sweat Leave- Or 50 times cooking rice, ect
If you are the only person for your role, try to not get distracted too much, or else everyone has to wait for you. If you sign up for an OP = Overprep role, you don't have worry about that aspect, since there are multiple people doing the same step as you.
If you get distracted, then only you miss out on the produced food, but the party continues.
For me that takes off the pressure.
So Overprep kind of also might allow you to show up a bit late or leave earlier if you have to. Best to ask individual hosts before the party if that will be okay.
Everything else is just learning of timing and rhythm of individual recipes and parties. Every host might have their own set of rules.
Some common rules are:
- Add host to your friendlist early.
- Show up on time
- Have enough time for the party
- Be friendly and have fun
Helpful things that are not always rules
- Turning off animated outfits, Pets and nameplates both help switch players in big parties with performance as well as some neurodivergent people getting less distracted
- While some people need to occupy themselves with doing something like running/jumping/doing animations to keep focused, others can get distracted or suffer from sensory issues. So If you don't need to move around, try to stay at your station.
- You should always feel free to ask a host if you need your station to be moved further away. Either because you don't want to disturb others, or need a more quite place for you to concentrate
Oh wow, thank you so much for the details. This will really take off the pressure on me when I join a party. 😍
Good evening, I have a problem with cooked dishes. I'm trying to make tomato soup but when I finish the ingredients my character freezes and it's no longer possible to move or continue until the end.
can someone help me make poke for zeki bro always wants stuff i dont have
jeez, he wants the expensive stuff... tell me it's a tier 3 or 4 gift, at least?
(Otherwise, I would honestly suggest giving him a citrine and skipping the poke, 'cause yikes, dari and heat root ain't worth the equivalent of chatting with him four times...)
It’s 4
Yeah, equivalent of 8 chats in that case
I'm not able to log in right now, but if nobody has been able to help you by the time I'm back online, I'll be happy to help out :)
This has been an intermittent bug for some people. What happens when you use the Unstuck command when you freeze? ( /unstuck in chat, or opening the main menu and selecting Unstuck)
Either way, I would submit it as a bug report so the devs can work on squashing it.
Sometimes when people /unstuck, they get teleported to the plot entrance (as expected), but still can't move...
Does anyone know where I can get trout dinner and apple pie?
Trout dinner is in Einar’s cave. I think the apple pie recipe is in Delaila’s room.
Yes, it does the same thing to me. I'll send a message 👍🏼 thank you
I'm sorry, that's such a pain. :(
In the meanwhile, if there are things you need to cook, I recommend cooking with others so they can finish the dish if you get stuck.
If you start the recipe, you will always get credit for the dish even if you aren't able to complete a minigame step for it.
Any legend wanna be my cooking assistand for weekly meals? Need to craft 3.
Need that to but cant play anytime soon 🥹
Just trying to figure out how many extra stations I should have for my plot regarding over prep...so for example...if im hosting a cake party for 18 and have overprep for sweet leaf should i have 12 more mixing stations cuz the cap to a server is 29-30?
Yup
sweet thank u!
But often not everyone will do the same op
Hiya. Is the flip option glitching for anyone else?
you don't klick
you have to keep the button pressed and then release it on the circle
How do I get ahold of Chili Oil Dumplings? I cannot find the recipe lol
if anyone needs any social cooking achievements, this event is starting soon! https://paliaparty.app/gk64lv
Wahhhh I am at work rn 😦
The recipe can be purchased from the Cooking Guild Store upon reaching Cooking Cooking Level 9, for 2,500 Gold.
https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Chili_Oil_Dumplings#Obtain_the_Recipe
the host is planning another one next thursday (american time)!
It worked thanks
np. Feels like 99.9% of the time when someone asks about flipping not working, it's that the minigame is suddenly different from the one for chopping.
It's weird
The fact that you only get the tutorial when you first attempt the minigame - you know, while you're under time pressure - and then can't reference it anywhere afterward is a major contributor to the confusion, I suspect
For sashimi or fish tacos do the sprouts need to be starred or would the fish itself be ok not starred…ik the more starred the more potential it is to come out starred?
It has effect but small and how do u plan to get starred sprouts reliably anyways
Yea thats why i asked cuz idk if i should dedicate time for just starred sprouts
Agree with DS: assuming you're using high-value fish, the contribution of the spice sprouts is much smaller in comparison. More important to have starred fish.
awesome! Thanks guys
Saves me from losing my mind from fishing and resource gathering
I personally consider starred spice to be unobtanium outside of the random ones u get
yea i was worried if it just had to be starred cuz ik dari's dont but since its just me supplying fish and potential sprouts i didnt wanna struggle even more T_T
I am so excited for new things to cook! :D
i have been yearning for new recipes AND ingredients and we are getting so many
i cannot wait to update my google doc
This is literally SO exciting.
I'm excited about new mushrooms.
Since the patchnotes dropped I want a ||Bean Burger|| irl. Hadn't one in months 😭
I just hope the recipes don’t cost a fortune!!
I don't think that will be the case.
||according to patch notes you find most of them in npc rooms||
Ohhh, now I think of it, it's making me crave a Portobello burger.
Managed to get an ||ancient amber|| on my first ancient tree!!!
found like an 8 or 9 tree flowtree grove in bahari but no ones around to help chop it. does anyone mind helping me rq?
Is 10,000 still max storage?
plus 300 locked storage, but per today's mini dev update another storage upgrade is coming next month
Did they make cooking a little easier?
really wishing the dowsing rod would track the elderwood lotus
and it looks like it does, complaining made it pop up 🤣
complaining always works in this game idk why
you need to buy the recipe from ashura
Anyone up for making lucky braised fish with me? I just need someone to watch the stoves. I'll carry the cooking
OMG YAY what a nice UI change!
(I only have one stove out at home, usually, for space reasons, and as veterans know, this recipe needs 2 stoves: one to start, and one to cook the rice on)
lolol the "any vegetable" recipes are still showing on the UI as requiring corn... so much for seeing if I could find more info on the new crops.
They fixed the "no meat, only crab >:[" visual glitch, though
Theres new recipes?
yes! 12 actually :)
83
Anyone have the trout dinner they could help me make?
I am happy to report that Stuffed Cabbage Rolls are STILL broken! Still always 52g even if you use vamp crab and brightshroom xD
ooooo black pearl
May i ask where you found that meat?
So many of these new recipes seem to use multiples of different ingredients.
anyone have the fish stew recipe and wouldn’t mind me coming over to make just 1?
how can I gather those mushroom like things that go inside the ground
via hunting
yup, the shmoles will pop up from their hidey holes in the area a la whack a mole and you shoot them with arrows
alright thanks
So about enchanted wood.....
Do you still need this??
^ this - I was going through what I've collected and testing things out ❤️
I feel like I am going insane. Where can I find piksii berries? I just run around like a lunatic
Think most biomes have em especially the large tree part
They are the most elusive common item in elderwood for me 😅😅 I just need one and I’ve been looking around for about two hours
you open the elder clam mushrooms ❤️
no someone helped me! thanks
anyone now how i can get Oyster meat
by opening unopened oysters, they're found in bahari bay along the coast
thx
does anyone know what batterfly beans look like in game and where i can find them??
They’re often located at the base of trees. Mitana(sp?) Grove
When we cook and check star ingredients, if we don’t have enough starred ingredients of one, it’s supposed to automatically use non starred items right?
Yes, that's where I've been looking, but I don't even know what they look like, and nothing pops up when I move past the trees. Do you have a screenshot or anything?
Maybe try Okanaa Bog too. They’re long plants near the base of the trees. No screenshots on me ):
That’s okay, I’ll figure it out—thanks for the help!
i wish we could mix star and non star ingredients when cooking. my farming lvl is high enough that i only get star quality rice but star quality dari cloves are much harder to come by
you can mix them! just select "use star quality ingredients" and it will substitute non starred ingredients for the ones you don't have!
THANKS I WAS AFRAID TO TRY THAT AND WASTE INGREDIENTS
make sure you lock any starred forageables you want to save
(then it will default to your unstarred)
Wie kann ich Weißsteinplatten herstellen?
Awesome! I'm doing an achievements party this morning if you need it!
du musst das Rezept von Hodari bekommen, dann kannst du weißen Stein aus Holunderholz in die Schmelze geben
oooh super vielen Dank!
gern geschehen!♥️
Those can be opened?!
lol yup, I thought it was an edible forage so I was trying to get my character to eat it
Same here! 😂 I was so confused on what I needed it for ....so I sold em 😞
I wish we can sell our cooking to other players that would be so cool 83
Can't you trade food?
can We?
No you cannot "trade" food, you can pick up the same food if cooked in a group
Ah okay!
You can't "trade" most things (exceptions: plushes, stickers, and a particular type of new thing in Elderwood). It is possible to request food, but you can only make 4 requests at once, and requests for food are only 1 at a time, so it's not very effective.
The easiest way to help another player get food is to have them cook a kitchen recipe with you. As long as they either (a) start the recipe or (b) complete at least one minigame (chop, roll, stir, flip, or take something out of the oven) they will also receive a full copy of the dish.
For brand-new players who don't have many ingredients, most recipes have at least one minigame step where you don't have to put in any ingredients (free role).
For the ones that don't, someone else can put down the ingredient by starting the minigame and then backing out of the cooking station, leaving the item there to be interacted with again.
Has anybody actually found beehives to shoot out of the pine trees (to get honey) in Bahari Bay yet? I've been looking at all of them, both north and south sides and not a single beehive to be seen.
i've seen the in elderwood and someone in another channel reported seeing one in kilima, but i haven't seen a bahari mention (though things move fast and are easy to miss)
yup bahary on pinetrees and elderwoods pine trees
