yea I will
I hope this means they were working on fixing the fact that those four ingredients didn't count toward the dish sell value in most recipes and just broke something along the way
anyone else have green onions not showing up when cooking kimchi fried rice? 😭
green onions seem to be an issue right now
They seem to not be showing up in the carousel for any recipe (I think)
Once I can log in I will be doing some testing, because based on reports in this channel so far, I strongly SUSPECT (but don't know) that the ingredient recipes for the LNY ingredients (green onion, ginger, napa cabbage, bok choy) may be bugged right now
Anyone here organize regularly poke bowl parties? Everyone suggested its a great way to earn money but I dont see much parties gathering for this activity :<
Have you checked #1143270926394335282 and also PaliaParty.app?
Unfortunately, all the recurring poke parties I am personally aware of are not public, because they fill up VERY fast (server capacity is 25, 30 with server syncs, so that is the max size of the party)
checking paliaparty regularly and usually its organized when its 2-4AM here 😦
Ah...
ugh
so many new bugs 😅 can't cut spring onions, can't place a certain candle holder on shelves anymore and we can't start the new quest. it doesn't get boring with each update😅
alwyas a surprise keeps things spicy
YEP all of the LNY ingredients are missing from the carousels, even for the Any Vegetable recipes
same here
@grim helm see message I replied to for a breakdown of how the starred ingredients thing works, if you want a refresher!
or this one
will do, thank you do! Thank you so much!
I could (and probably should) do the math but is there an obvious "this is the most efficient" thing to cook solo for gold value
edit: looks like it might be the crab pot pie as it's easy ingredients to come by?
grilled fish on the campfire is really the only efficient thing to cook solo for money? Otherwise the ingredient cost is not really worth it!
There really aren't too many things that are a shoe-in for solo cooking for gold, other than grilling your unstarred fish for a chance at starred. The grilled fish loses no money if unstarred.
What would be recommended for using up my ingredients? Just join cooking parties for non Cakes?
That does make sense.. do we turn the fish into glow worms for more?
Unfortunately, because you MUST use starred ingredients after a certain point in cooking, anything that uses garden produce runs the risk of losing money if it turns out unstarred if you cook solo. (And all starred ingredients =/= starred results.)
One possible exception might be fish stew, or otherwise anything that uses only unstarred (gathered/fished/caught/hunted) ingredients and NO store bought ingredients, but honestly, it's so much slower that I really can't recommend it.
I personally just always stack up on focus food since you ALWAYS need it! And then cooking parties for some ingredients
Yep
The (overall, not literal, there is rounding) multiplier on dishes is 1.125 * the sum of the unstarred sell values of the ingredients, and then x1.5 that for starred results
Interesting, i'll have to join those then xD
I had never looked into this and my ingredients are coming out of my ears so I figured it was now or never, and i'm a fan of min maxing stuff like this (idk why)
mmm ok, I remember reading up on that multiplier but didn't account for the loss if a dish turned out unstarred, because ofc it does
So grilled fish, and cooking parties to use up ingredients, i'll do this then, and make some focus food
Ty lovely people
From the (updated) patch notes:
"Dishes that require Bok Choy or Green Onion cannot be cooked."
And ginger and napa cabbage, too! But that hasn't made it into the text yet, I guess.
What, you mean you expect them to be as fast in changing their update notes as you guys are at finding the problems?!?
Oh, I think my tone came across wrong — I just meant that I hadn't looked at the patch notes updates yet, so you confirmed for me that it hadn't been updated just yet :)
Though it's unfortunate that you can't really tell that the recipe is unfinishable until after you've already started it 😰
Nope, you were fine... my comment was just a joke about how slow they usually are. I was actually surprised to see them mention about the 2 "broken" ingredients.
Guess I'm going fishing again, so I can at least make things when they are fixed. Poor devs, the most rough things break when they update
Might be safe to just steer away from any LNY ingredients for a bit.
Stuffed cabbage rolls too.. i just tried and can't do it any more.
nevermind it needs the spring onion.. facepalm
my recipe doesn't have any bok choy or green onions, yet i couldn't cook the recipe
ginger is affected with the bug too
The 4 ingredients affected are the ones added for Luna New Year in Feb 2024 - green onion, ginger, bok choy, and napa cabbage. They have been bugged for a long time not to contribute their value properly to the sell value of dishes (i.e., when calculating the dish sell value, they are counted as being worth 0g). I have to wonder if they were trying to fix that and messed something else up XD
i just hope they fix it fast really, they tend to fix something & mess up something that was working xD
all the more reason to turn these cabbages into kimchi, therefore coins hehe
damn, just ruined my kimchi fried rice, came here to see what's up with the missing chopped onions 😭
Sounds about right XD
What's the cooking recipe that gives you the highest amount of exp towards your cooking?
Thank God I hopped on here, I wasted so many ingredients trying to cook w bloody ginger
Its not just that, there are so many bugs in this release 😄
I wish someone would pin the bugged ingredients; green onion, bok choy, ginger, and a few others. At least until the patch hits. lots of people are trying multiple times to get recipies to work and are confused.
PSA TIME
not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet, but I'm trying to make the rounds
Don't make any recipes that contain any of the following ingredients:
⚠️ Napa Cabbage
⚠️ Bok Choy
⚠️ Wild Ginger
⚠️ Wild Green Onion
The prep recipes seem to have been deleted as of patch 0.186 so your recipe will fail.💛
💛
I’m trying to make a trout dinner. I have the recipe and it says any trout. I can only catch rainbow trout but it want read it as having the trout for the recipe.
That's interesting... do you have only starred trout? If so, what happens if you check "use starred ingredients"? (If it's not starred trout, could you take a screenshot?)
It’s a mix of both I believe
@mortal quartz you are a genius. I clicked star ingredients and it worked
Thank you
The worst thinng with the ginger bug (what I am calling it) is you can start the recipe do all the other steps you just can't chop the ginger.
Yeah... there's no indication of any kind of problem until you start the recipe, and potentially until you get to the missing step :( And, of course, the missing items are down toward the bottom of the carousel, since they were added later...
And it tells you you have the ingrediant. Not like you lack butter so you can't make this.
Yep! Have ingredient... simply cannot chop ingredient 😔 We all have sudden partial amnesia for how to knife (and how to blanch cabbage)
at least I am throwing som ruined food in my work factories
strums guitar Take me back to the bad ol' days, when we ate no greens, chopped no greens, grew no greens... 🎶
I went through the Palia Wiki, and from what I can see these are the recipes that include 1 or more of the impacted ingredients:
❌ Kimchi Fried Rice
❌ Lucky Braised Fish
❌ Mushroom Dumpling Soup
❌ Pan Fried Dumplings
❌ Rice Cake Soup
❌ Rice Cake Stirfry
❌ Spicy Crab Fried Rice
❌ Steamed Fish
❌ Stuffed Cabbage Rolls
Yup, those are the 9 Luna New Year recipes alright. Thanks for pulling this together!
appreciate you
Darn, hotfix did not fix the missing ingredient sub-recipes... at least, it doesn't seem that way
no because i just did the exact same thing and laughed reading your response realising i shouldve read this channel sooner 😭 🤚
lol welcome to the club xD
Hey there's definitely bugs with the green onions and stuff in the recipes right?
yes. green onion, ginger, napa cabbage and bok choy are all bugged.
Are we able to cook the sweet berry pie? I wanted to make sure it wasn't used for anything but the wiki page for it was bare.
I haven't seen a sweet berry pie in the wild yet... was it a gift from a villager?
The only sweet pies we can cook right now are apple and blueberry
Whoah, that focus amount!
(for comparison, blueberry pie is 225 unstarred, and apple pie is 325 unstarred)
Maybe it's a hint for the future 👀
Oooooo
But we did also have "sweet berry jam" in the game at one point, also only as a quest reward
Is it gone now? If so I hope they add it back so we can make this
I don't know, actually; I had one at one point, when I was a very new player
I definitely ate it 😂
Oh lmao, understandable though
Ah! it was Jelly: https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Jelly
But the mail from Delaila that it came attached to called it "sweet berry jam"
Huh, well thank you!
Guys, I have a question about grilling fish. I have some uncommon fish in my storage and common ones and when I go to grill fish, it doesn’t clarify which fish it’s gonna cook. So I’m a little nervous that it might get rid of the ones I wanna keep, is there a way to avoid this? If I move some to my backpack/inventory, would that fish get used first? 😅🥲
You should build a lockbox for the fish (and other items) you want to keep from being crafted. I think Zeki sells the recipe, but double check the wiki.
Yeah those are the chests no? I have a few lockboxes on my plot, so if I have fish in there, they won’t be used when I cook?
Firstly, you can click on the Any Fish selector in the cooking interface to manually choose which fish you want to use, as long as you have 2 of the same.
But also, yes, fish in your backpack gets used first, in order from cheapest to most expensive. When those run out, it will start pulling from your general storage (regular chests).
And, as Poliphas said, if you put any fish you don't want to cook with in your locked storage (lockbox), they will be safe. You can buy the recipe for the lockbox from the cash register in the furniture store; use the Recipes tab or scroll all the way down past the wallpapers.
The lockbox is different from your regular general storage, though.
Ohhh okay thank you so much 🙏🏻
@karmic hare here's the list of broken ingredients
#🍳│cooking-foraging message
there's the complete list of recipes

wtb recipe hotfix pls and ty
Thank you
Hey everyone would anyone know by chance if there’s a fast way to level up your foraging or you just chopped down a lot of trees?
A couple friends and I tested this, and while chopping trees is probably the fastest in terms of time spent, it's also incredibly tedious and doesn't benefit you much overall, though it's nice to do in pairs if you're determined to grind it out. I recommend pairing it with muujin hunting and picking everything in sight :)
Flow tree parties held on people's plots can also be a nice boost; it's about 84 flow trees per level once you reach level 9
You can do that, but it's not just wood, it's also everything you forage for in the environment. Pick all the morels and wild garlic and ginger that you can find, spice sprouts, pick the moss and lotuses at the lake, and in Bahari look for the oysters, shells, moss and coral. If you do that all the time, regardless of what you're actually focusing on at the moment, you'll level up pretty quickly.
So basically, if I hear the sound go after it.
Not to mention sweet leaf, briar daisies, heat root, etc etc etc. - so, yep! Pick ALL the things.
https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Experience#Foraging
https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Gatherables <- sort by the Obtain column
So the purpose of most foragables is just xp then
idk about "just" - all of them also have uses, either in cooking or in crafting furniture/ammo
Every skill works together with the other ones
Nope
Y’all is there any place where garlic spawns or am I missing something? I know it spawns anywhere but I just can’t get my hands on it and I need it for quests
anyone also have problem with green onion and ginger when cooking? I have plenty in my chest but when it comes to cooking i can't chop it because it's not showing on a prep station
It shares spawn points with sundrop lilies (and doesn't spawn where morels do)
Yh I tried looking for that
So, while you can find a few in Kilima, they aren't too dense since they're kind of spread out around the town. I recommend trying southern Bahari and picking all the sundrop lilies you see
I feel like everyone is looking for garlic at this point…
I’ll try that Thxx!!
Unfortunately, that's a known issue this patch. See here:
#🍳│cooking-foraging message ingredient problems
#🍳│cooking-foraging message recipe list
It's listed in the patch as affecting green onion and bok choy, but it affects all of the ingredients added for Luna New Year (so, ginger and napa cabbage, too)
ahhh okay thanks
Does cooking when in a party give the item to both players?
As long as you both help out, yes.
Anyone that completed a cooking step (including starting the recipe) each gets the full quantity of the dish :3
So for this I'm wanting to make fisherman's brew for my sister.... but I don't think she has the recipe and i do
she's also out of requests XD so I cant get her to request one. trying to help her get fishing up
I'm not familiar with the recipe tbh
Usually, only the starter needs the recipe
But it looks like it's only one step over the campfire, so it doesn't seem like it's shareable
Can anyone fact check this, porfa
yeah you can't share foods made on the campfire. she also won't be able to request it if she's never had it before.
darn
is she struggling with fishing? you could cook other fishing recipes with her like fish stew, sashimi or sushi.
the fish recipes I have require ingredients that are borked
oh, you don't have any of the recipes i mentioned? they all give fishing buffs
I only have steamed fish atm... my cooking is low
ah ok. well i would just fish in a party with her until she gets to level 5 fishing and can get the fisherman's brew recipe herself
will do!
to double-clarify: you don't actually need to be in a party (like the thing that gives you the buff for double loot when hunting, foraging, etc.) in order to cook together/share the results for kitchen-cooked multistep recipes. As JuaNeo explained, it's based on participation. If you are in a party and one person doesn't participate at all, that person won't still won't get the food.
I highly recommend getting at least the fish stew recipe, if you can — that one makes the reticle move faster, so it makes fishing a LOT easier. You can obtain the recipe by fishing on the Bahari Coast using regular worms, any time of day. :)
thank you you are such a gem <3
i hope this can be pinned temporarily while the issue persists
You're welcome! Happy to help! Not sure how we can ask to pin something! ❤️
The hotfix was specifically so that people who couldn't do the new quest cause Jina wasn't showing up can now do it
if anyone can make it to bahari, theres a flow tree up in b3
i have a bug where it doesnt show any of the cutting board stuff after i start cooking..
@cosmic edge
#🍳│cooking-foraging message
Is this new since the patch? were you able to chop before the update?
(gaia looks to be having problems chopping garlic for a basic soup in that video, so it's not the LNY stuff)
It's not just garlic, it's also in the rest of the recipes and it's been since before the new update that did so
Oh dear. To me, it looks like you are chopping just slightly too slowly, but if you didn't have problems before, then I'm not sure what is happening. 🤔
@trail kite having issues connecting and I'm not trying to spam login for another 30 min, sorry!
is that the steamed fish recipe? because I am trying to make that right now and it's doing the same thing
I just submitted to support about the steamed fish recipe. I can start it at the stove, but the prep station says I have no recipes.
oh good! Yah, that's exactly what happens to me as well. The prep station saying I have no recipes.
I came to ask if anyone was having issues with steamed fish! Glad to see i am not the only one
It's happening to a few recipes, i think I've been having trouble cooking the Pan Fried Dumplings, with things I have but the option to make isn't appearing.
The luna new year ingredients are all effected
Yes, don't cook any recipes with bok choy, green onion, ginger, or napa cabbage.
Okay thanks guys.
I'm having trouble with cutting stuff too
Yes
It's with all the green onions recipes
They should disable/hide the broken recipes in game or put a message box next to them or something. If there's a huge cooking bug like this without a fix on the way ASAP this needs to be communicated to players via game.
Yeah I ruined Pan Fried Dumplings last night cuz the game didn't populate "Chopped Ginger" for me. I had it in my inventory, but I couldn't chop it.
yeah and then the ruined food takes away those ingrediants from us. frustrating.
The green onions and ginger wont populate for me still
Yep, still broken. Probably best to assume that green onion, ginger, bok choy, and napa cabbage will stay un-preppable until there is an announcement that the bug has been fixed.
Hello! Does anyone know how to get glow trees to appear here?
Flow tree seeds are from a reward you get for completing the Vault of the Roots bundles and then a quest afterward. You receive a furnishing that gives you one tree seed per day, and after the quest is complete, it has a chance to give flow seeds. You plant the seeds like other tree seeds and water them so they grow.
Did that answer your question? :D
Hello! Is the food that requires green onions still broken?
Yes all of the Luna New Year ingredients are still broken
Is it just me or does anyone else have trouble finding wild garlic?
I swear they were always everywhere
Still there! More so in Bahari, have not seen any in Kilima today but I wasn't paying too much attention
Easier said than done. I have reached level 64 in fishing, fished with worms up and down the Bahari coast countless times, fished in one place near the docks, countless times, fished near Zeki's hideout countless times. Still no recipe. Much easier to find a friend with the recipe and get fish stew that way.
I got the same problem too just now
But instead of giving me ruined recipe, once the timer ended its just gone like I didn't cook at all
maybe they did that before they fix the bug alltogether to save your materials
I still lost the ingredients that I've already cut tho ㅠ_ㅠ
oh
Is cooking bugged? I swear I can't cook any dishes using napa cabbages :c
YES!!!
apparently its happening to everyone, its napa and i think three other plants that are causing problem, i think its bokchoy, ginger and cant remember the last one
YAY!!!! Finally caught the fish stew recipe! Makes me wonder if there is some AI that rewards people after complaining xD
No that only works for fish
Green onions is the 4th one.
May be a dumb question, can you not cook with Starred Redmeat?
It doesn't show up in camp fire or kitchen - i mistakenly sold all my non starred...thinking Use Star meat.
chgeckbox allow starred
has anyone tried cooking with the forbidden 4 ingredients recently? is it still down?
Last mention of it not working in this channel was less than 8 hours ago, and there's been no announcement of a fix being applied (or even one in the works), so presumably it is still broken?
(Please forgive me for not wanting to waste more oil experimenting 😅)
Lol that's exactly the reason I am asking rather than trying myself 😅 just hopeful thinking...
I hope the word is well and truly out so we don't have more unfortunate souls coming in here to ask "Why??", trailing the smell of burnt food behind them... lol
Difficult times
Collective amnesia for How To Chop got us all
As someone who started using Discord specifically for this game I feel for those who do not (although I'm sure I'm one of the last stand outs as an old lady born in the 1900s) wondering wtf is happening
Neither here nor there for what you are saying, but you might be surprised at the age skew on this game XD
hi i was wondering where I could find the sweet leafs in the game. im new to the cooking side of this game
The northern part of Bahari Bay's map
You can find them all over northern Bahari Bay! Just run out the door to Bahari from your plot and it will plop you right there. They share spawn points with mountain morels in Bahari, so make sure you pick those, too, to make more room for more sweet leaf to spawn.
The red mushrooms.
So many recipes are broken, is there a list? I hate wasting ingredients like this
!cookingbug

Think half of the LNY recipes aren’t working rn though. But happy to hand them to you!
None of those are LNY recipes :D
(the ones I listed - the link obviously includes them)
Ah gotcha.
I don’t really go to cooking groups because I play on the switch and cooking be wonky as hecc sometimes on it; but if you want a buncha crabs I’m happy to fill a request (:
LNY ?_? what that mean
switch even has issues with things like cake partys?
Luna New Year
I cook with my partner who plays with me; sometimes it lags for a second when another ingredient is completed and throws my chop off.
i jsut ask cuz cake party is mixing and mixing glitches waaaayyy less thgen the other cooking steps
I mean we still star the food like 90% of the time anyway, but that’s playing with my partner vs messing up a stranger’s food. So I just don’t. Lol.
Also, introvert. Going into a big group with a bunch of strangers isn’t really my thing.
i get it but ijust wanna point out that the friendlier groups are super chill and its suhc an effective way to get food and u can even go together
I get that, but: introvert. It’s not so much that people aren’t friendly; it’s more that there are people at all.
I’m drowning in gold and have more than enough food having just cooked with my partner and myself.
wut but every time i went there i was hte most talkative and im anti social introverted to XD
It’s not a necessity for me.
Then maybe you’re not as much of an introvert as you think you are 😉
dont u put an existential crisis on me 😮 my entire self concept is now ruined what if i am actually extroverted all along but my issues prevented me from acting that wa
Hahahah! If it helps I used to think I was a strong extrovert and behaved that way. I led a very social RP guild in WoW for many years… turns out I can pretend to be an extrovert if I need to, but I rather be by myself/with a small group of my chosen safe people if given the choice.
But I was mainly joking—introvert and extrovert are just labels, no one fits a box 100% of the time (:
😉
but yeay im that weirdo that gets all his focus from cakes 30min of cooking months of food hehe
efficiency
I think it’s more of… I don’t like a social environment? I don’t mind talking on this discord, but my ND brain doesn’t like humans being around me.
I think my brain counts characters in-game as “humans around me”.
Plus I can disengage from chatting here whenever I need to/energy runs out/get overwhelmed. Can’t really dip in the middle of a cooking party while people need me to do a thing.
its funny cuz i swear 75% of cake party attendees never say anythign at all XD
I liked cooking so my boxes are currently full of 73830201 recipes and I’m slowly eating my way through them. … and feeding them to my glow worms.
its ok no partys for you i just type random * in between rounds out of pure boredom
and i yell at poeple to do their roles so they remember to do em otherwise u stand there waiting 5min cuz osmeone forgot
I think also I avoid socializing in game because playing on switch and trying to type is like. Pain.
dont worm ur meals thats a waste eat em they wont last long anyways(unles u got excess and obsessively love cooking)
yeay u cant type onswitch its ok u play ur way
If I worm SOME meals I can get more glows outta them than just 1 per item :p and yes. I do like cooking so I have too much food. 🤣
Hunting is my main vibe but cooking is a good second!
the way of the worms:
- meats that u wont use especially every single unstyarred one thats their only purpose
- grill ur fish not profit but fast fert and worm
- if u got nothign u can buy shrooms from zeki and worm those
- some poeple 2 step process their farm stuff like this: produce > jar > (glow)worm
- excessive cooking party foods (could get really funny if u doing epic fish partys)
I’ve mainly been throwing my tomatoes in there as filler. I have over 200 of them >.>
When I cook something too low-focus to be worth me eating (since it takes room in my inventory if I have multiple items that don’t stack) and I’m going fishing soon, I swap that out for the tomatoes to get more glowies. Then swap the low-value crops back.
i do seriously wonder why u cook so many different thigns in ways that they wont stack but go do your thing
Achievements. And gifting. Lol.
Also I’m not trying to minmax a cozy game so 🤷 just viiiiiibes, maaan.
Hello I am so confused I'm trying to make pan fried dumplings and I have all the ingredients but it won't let me chop any ginger. Does anyone have any advice?

Best advice so far...
(Not my post but the answer is hilarious)
Btw, if people are vegan (vegetarian) would they hunt in the game? 🤔
Recipes outside bubblez only
I'm trying to cook steamed fish, but the prep station won't show the recipes for chopped wild green onion and wild ginger. What do I do?
It's a glitch with the latest patch. You just can't make those recipes right now
Anyone know why recipes allow you to start them and say Ready To Cook when youre missing vital ingredients so you inevitably fail?

swear its always done it
I think there are a handful of recipes (maybe only one) that will pass the check if you have only one of the 2 count required (butter) if one of them is a starting ingredient and the other is a step ingredient. Otherwise, if you have all the starting ingredients, it will always let you start the recipe without the step ingredients, but with a warning that you will need to have others present to handle the missing ones.
(The current bug isn't an issue with ingredient-checking; even if you have the items, the sub-recipes have gone missing x_X so there really is no indication at ALL in-game that you wouldn't be able to complete it...)
Yes! Do you still need it? Sorry, didn’t see this yesterday while I was working.
yes yes, my IGN is Ziel Chang! Thank you 🥺
I’m not in-game yet, just woke up haha. Logging in now, give me a few and I’ll add you (:
@wide onyx Just to be sure I can give it to you, you’ve caught the fish before, right?
yess ive caught one before but lost it somehow, should i make a request now?
Not yet, I’m still loading and all
@wide onyx Try entering the request?
I’m in game
Okay!!
Done!

It’s still borked so don’t make any of the recipes listed until they fix it @livid canyon @timber burrow
sucks, I know
Gotcha
I finally decided to try cooking recipes I was missing and just came here to ask about the Bok Choy only to see it’s broke and not just me after I tried like 4 times 🤦🏼 Well, that’s unfortunate.
Aw heck

Can someone tell me which two i am missing?
I cant but u can easily figure it out on palia tracker if noone else can tell either

ahh chappa masla is bugged .. thank you
it worked for me earlier
Chapaa Masala should be completable - what bug are you running into? (Is it the spice sprouts thing?)
i cant seem to make mujin bahari. i get all the ingredients mixed, the meat cooked, mustard and veggie mix made and when i go back to the prep station and make the rolled dough it wont let me progress. ive ruined two batches. i have 2 of each station just in case. any ideas?
i need this for the roots bundle and its the last thing. its a bit frustrating
if you want we can cook it together
that would be very appreciated

ok got it
thank you so mcuh again!
hi fellas, does someone know if cooking is still broken today ? (hope you're all enjoying your day
)
No news to the contrary, I'm afraid :(
No, they are any time, but only along the beach in fairly specific spawn areas — often on top of/around the little rocky cliffs. They show up on a dowsing rod. https://palia.th.gl/ can tell you where to look in the first place.
Oh, which ones did you try? :O
so thats why i either find none or way more hten i need close together
Damn, pan fried dumplings is still broken for me (no Chopped Ginger on the prep table)
Game crashes were never the issue; it was that the green onion, ginger, bok choy, and napa cabbage sub-recipe minigames were/are missing
Chopped Green Onion and Blanched Cabbage are still gone, too, for stuffed cabbage rolls
Chopped Bok Choy is still gone for rice cake stir fry....
Which rice cake recipe did you make?
lmao your character makes some very funny expressions when a dish is ruined if you're standing by the cooking station (before this, he kind of clutched his stomach and doubled over in horror)
Does anyone know when chopping ginger is gonna get fixed?
Also, how do I get petit fives and the cake recipe?
It's from Reth not Auni! /gen
Are there ingredients that don't work still or is that been fixed?

i don't believe it's been fixed yet no
hey i have a few questions, im trying to build a cooking party plot, and i dont know how far away stations can be from eachother to not work together? also.. are there any recipes that would require more than 3 ovens? ty to anyone who answers
my cooking plot has 6 of everything just to cover my basis. but i havent done cake party so i may need more or less
Any station anywhere on the plot will work for a recipe you start, so far as I've found.
No, 3 ovens is the max required for any recipe :)
and there is no oven over prep recipes right?
Why can I not make the macarons, I have the ingredients and the mixing station??
You need two mixing stations!
No, don't believe so. Oven steps typically require another transient ingredient to start (like cake batter for the cake layer, or chopped meat for bacon) and once you have all of the oven-cooked ingredients made, you can't bake any more.
Oooh thank you!
What recipe do you guys find makes most money? (When cooking alone)
Solo cooking mostly isn't profitable enough to be worth how long it takes, but let me find the discussion on this from a few weeks ago.
Found it:

Thank you!
Can I get the smooth shiny pebble from the oysters I receive as gifts or does it needs to be manually foraged? Cuz I stand at 1500 oysters and still no sign of it :c
You get meat or white pearls or green pearls from unopened oysters
If the pebbles you’re talking about are Einars, it won’t work. They’re all over the map
anyone know which food item would produce the most profit?
No no the one you get exclusively by opening oysters. It got like 0.03% chance of getting it and you even get an achievement for it. I was just wondering if I need to manually forage all the oysters for me to get it or will the oysters I get as gifts will also work?
Oof- uh, I don’t see why it wouldn’t work, cause for a quest I opened a oyster from a gift to get the green pearl
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1krXJMX0oRhz02hpKRlRAvyljFbNXTxaoMtrfSza_weA/edit
check Arenvanyas guide
Pretty sure that in first place was bok Choi, but don’t quote me on that
And it also depends what is more profitable to you, not using water, how many days it takes to grow, what makes the most money etc
Alrighty then from now on I'm gonna put in requests for oysters as well XD
I use pickles and jams from the Preserves Jar!
which recipe requires 3
Bold choice of the game to have Tish request Stuffed Cabbage Rolls WHEN WE CANNOT MAKE THEM
bugs gonna bug
Do y'all have any tips for finding coral? Istg coral should have their own locator tool
walk on beach(though not flooded fortress) should be htere unles osmeone else plucked it making it despawn
It's only on Bahari Beach but no, I don't have any tips. I just make sure to pick it up every time I see it.
I will ALWAYS sacrifice an inventory slot.
everytime how muhc do you need? and what for XD
So it's all just pure luck lol
For me I need it for crafting some furniture and crafting Dowsing Rod mostly!
oh not that muhc furniture uses it. wait dowsing rod isnt totally useless?
Dowsing rod is nice for Dragon's Beard Peat, Flow-Trees, Dari Cloves, and Heatroot.
😮 u it helps finding daricloves and heatroot if u need alot of it
And brightsroom! you never have too much brightrooms
Isnt that only used for ammo that u get from the fox statue or is my ammo economy to efficient to craft ammo xd
Oh, yes. Thank you. I forgot.
Sorry, I have a question: where can I find the recipe for stuffed cabbage rolls? As always, thanks to whoever answers me.🙏
Dish is currently uncraftable though
...but then what's the point of putting that plate among the gifts that Tish would like, if then I can't prepare it or buy it anywhere, excuse me? It doesn't make sense...
HEARD THAT
pretty sure the recipe comes from the luna maji market so hopefully it comes back with the next luna market event. also certain dishes being bugged is a very recent thing and is hopefully fixed with the next update. also the weekly likes are all randomized so the game won't know to remove certian foods or items if those items are broken unfortunately
if the dishes are fixed by the next patch you're welcome to ping me and we can cook them together! won't help for the weekly want but it should help you finish your cooking accomplishments if you need
cabbage rolls aren tlunar or maji
Is your ign Valren, Like here on discord? 🙂
you're right i was wrong about that sorry
yes it is! i got your request and accepted :)
no biggy just dont want poelpe to give up on getting it thinking its only at those events
but how did i get it then 😮
nvm tavern aslo has it
i didn't read enough please ignore me
no wonder u thought it was lunar since u got it from there before htey added it to tavern
LOL sorry i can't read
I found the recipe! I'm in the ug, at the counter where Reth is usually...it's among the available recipes! I'm buying it now...🙀

wow this is way to funny
there was a picture/table with fish food and the price outcomes for different fish, does anyone have it?
ren does
ok so I'm having this problem where I'll go to make a reciepe that is found in the mixing or prep station and then it tells me I can't make it because I don't have a mixing or prep station. What is happening? This is happening with maroons, for example. Am I supposed to have two mixing stations? (please @ with responses)
yes you need 2 mixing stations for macarons - you should make 2 of every cooking station if you want to cook every recipe in the game
ok, good to know, thank you!
they should really change that message to you do not have ENOUGH <cooking station>

I just got back from recovery sleep after the holiday and oh boy that's a lot happening in this channel
hi ren
Technically requires? None - you only require two to be able to start every recipe, if you are cooking solo. (Any recipe that starts at the oven and also needs bacon, for example, will need 2 ovens.)
But for cooking parties, where ideally you want to have one station per role, then it's best to have 3 ovens for the Celebration Cake recipe so the 3 cake layer steps can happen simultaneously.
But there is no recipe so far that has more than 3 oven roles
Ah, thanks for the answer
All unopened oysters are the same object and only generate what's inside them when they are opened, afaict. Oysters you pick up from the beach, oysters from ingredient bags or lucky boxes, any unopened oysters you get your hands on - all can give you the smooth shiny pebble. It just has a very very low drop chance.
Sorry if someone already said, but make sure you pick shells and oysters too - they share spawn points with coral (and spawn more commonly), so if you leave them on the ground, no coral can spawn in that spot.
Brightshrooms are also used at for-profit muujin Bahari parties (my fav role since I also only craft dispels once in a blue moon, lol)
But they are also used in a few furnishings, including the blue candles and several Moonstruck items.
i get to many oysters i collect em to gift to poeple who need their pebble
oh so thats what wait so normal poeple dont switch ammo depending on what they are shooting and just go full enchanted arrows 😮

Some people just hunt magical animals A LOT. For fun! Takes minimum 6 to take down a Proudhorn solo, forget how many for a bluujin, and 2-3 for a magic chapaa. But a lot of folks do fire pretty freely to avoid spending time chasing things down. (If they're accurate enough it can be VERY fast, but does use a lot of arrows.)
so thats why now ic
nice spreadsheet very usefull
Since this isn't #🌱│gardening , I am guessing you mean food via cooking? Did you mean cooking solo or in groups?
On the topic of cooking...I personally feel like it's the hardest skill to level bc you have to get the things done within time limit and such an me I don't really have in game friends to help. I digress. Trying to do petite fives for 'your order is served' and idek if it can be done on my own as my cooking is like level 4... tips? I'll take offers of help too
cooking partys
asking for help
being faster
though i admit being faster on switch would be quiete hard probs idk i heeard its a nightmare to play ont that
A bit yeah. Maybe... couldn't say if pcs better for it as I don't have one rn
u need help to cook that dish rn?
Yes and no? I gotta check see if I even have the stuff I tried to do it before on my own (like a WHILE ago) and yeah epically failed so ingredient verification is required... soo hold that thought bc don't get me wrong I will gladly accept some help but I gotta check some stuff and maybe go collecting
u do realise i can probs have all ingredients XD
I also gotta go do some irl adult ingredients so just hold that thought. I hate adulting
ikr it * sucks

Hi all 👋🏼 it’s been several months since I’ve played, what cooked dishes or jarred veggies will get me the most gold when I sell if?
Cake party's and apple jars give the most gold if I'm correct
Great, thank you!
anyone with the lucky braised fish recipe want to come cook it with me so i can try to get starred?
oh wait i think it's bugged rn nvm
Solo cooking, really only grilling unstarred fish (that you were going to sell anyway) on the campfire for a chance at starring them. Most other recipes lose value when cooked solo if you don't star them.
Jarred apples are worth the most per unit, but that may not be the most useful answer, depending on what your underlying question is. See #🌱│gardening for further discussion :D
For group cooking, the top for-profit parties are (in no particular order; "best" depends entirely on your group of folks and how they like to spend their playtime, and what your priorities are):
- **Celebration Cake ** - the classic for a reason; can be very fast and requires no chopping from anybody, plus multiple bought-ingredients roles
- Muujin Bahari - somewhat slower than cakes, with a different set of ingredients and more varied role types (chop, roll, and flip mostly), but worth more per dish
- Poke Bowl - worth up to 996g per dish with epic fish and dari cloves in the salsa, and quite fast to cook, BUT front-loads a lot of the work onto the fishers and the foragers. Chopping and mixing.
- Other Any Fish dishes: fish stew (mostly chop), sashimi (mostly stove stir), fish tacos (mostly roll) — requires high-value fish (usually top-tier rare glow worm fish), and comes out to be worth about the same as cakes, but also they are very, very fast to cook. (Fish tacos are, imo, the most annoying of all of them since rolling is slow and you end up fighting the UI a lot, but it may be a good choice for lower-tier epics that you don't want to use for poke)
- Sushi occupies a kind of weird middle ground, since it uses dari, heat root, and vinegar, but is worth less per round than poke; but still quite fast. (Chopping, stove stirring, and mixing.)
Okay so running into a recurring issue that I'm hoping to find a work around for.
2 People Cooking Chili Oil Dumplings.
Player A - Starts Rice, Stirs Rice, Chops Pepper, Mixes Chili Oil, Stirs Dumplings, Adds finished ingredients, Stirs Dumplings
Player B - Starts recipe, Chops Vegetable, Chop Meat, Roll Dough
Now the issue is about 40% of the time so far Player A gets to the 'Stirs Dumpling' part 1, and cannot stir. The UI for stirring pops up, but it doesn't detect the mouse click to stir.
Cannot exit/reopen the UI in any way that I can figure out. Only way I can reset is restarting the game which kicks us from the plot and ruins the recipe.
Any work around or tips/tricks appreciated.
Try /unstuck or Esc/Menu -> Unstuck button and run back to the stove.
This happens a lot on recipes with 2 stirs on the starter station; haven't been able to completely pin down what triggers it, but it seems to be some combination of Add Ingredient being done too fast, and a too-fast transition between Add Ingredient and using the Interact command to start the stir. (Obviously, this is a bug/glitch, and shouldn't be happening, because it's very frustrating! But it's also inconsistent, so, hard to troubleshoot...)
You can also try exiting the minigame using whatever your Exit Cooking Minigame keybind is. (By default, that's F on PC or B on Switch, iirc.) However, I haven't had that work successfully.
hello has anyone else had this issue? I have the ingredients for it but it won't let me prep it

Thank you! There’s always so much information it’s hard to keep track
Grove spawns at 12am in game in Bahari and random spots. Yu see it( pink glow in the air) / hear it
Not very rare! See above about the grove as a regular source for them, but they also have a chance to spawn at random any time a regular tree spawns (including in Kilima). They also show up on a dowsing rod. Some players also grow them on their home plots and host regular flow tree chops.
Thank you, what level do I need to be to be able to chop big trees?
The largest flow trees need two people to cut down, and you need a fine axe or better to be able to damage large trees of any type. HOWEVER, if you are in a party, you can also get loot drops if your party member participates in chopping down a tree :)
I'm confused why can't I chop green onions? Its on the list of what I need to do but its not on the prep table as an option to do even with me having green onions in my inventory

Hello, where can I find groups hosting cooking parties? Badly needed gold
Hello! There are a few spaces for that:
- paliaparty.app (website) - lists upcoming public parties on the front page
- #1143270926394335282 - has advertisements for scheduled and impromptu parties
- and the rest are from getting to know groups of folks who host/attend whom you click with and being invited that way :)
Thank you so much!! I will visit the website
You can easily find them tbh. they spawn almost everywhere 🙂 but i would suggest paying attention to groves since there’s multiple flow trees spawned during grove from 12am and they usually chop them around 3am but sometimes 5am before it respawned again
I'm sorry, I don't understand the last part: "but sometimes 5am before it respawned again"?
sometimes they wait until 5 to chop the trees and after that the trees will respawned i think
the trees will respawned if not chop then spawn in another location i believe
That's not how I understand it, hm. From the patch notes when groves were introduced: https://palia.com/news/patch-173
- they spawn once per day (at midnight Palia time)
- if not chopped, they stick around (don't despawn on their own)
- a second grove can also spawn if the first one hasn't been chopped by the next time midnight rolls around
- but after that, no additional groves spawn
But the regular (not-flow-grove) trees do respawn in the same places after the grove trees are chopped, and sometimes they do come back as (regular, random-spawn) flow trees!
ahh okay okay well others said that it needs to be chopped down before 5am when the trees haven’t been cut at 3
I have no idea where they got that idea... I've found unchopped groves at noon or 1PM the following Palian day
Pink swirls and all
yeah not sure either but i just follow what they said lol.. one time there’s one random groves during the day
People prefer to cut at 3am as they don't want to wait very long, but if it's not cut at 3am nothing happens to the grove
Yeah, 3AM is just 7.5 real-life minutes after it spawns, which is usually plenty of time to find it and then gather people
yeah but i don’t know sometimes they wait till 5am for others
I've seen that if the grove was found very late, or if people are just willing to be patient

how can i just like, make bread without having it be a minigame in a recipe
you can't. you'd need a recipe for bread but there isn't one.
what about flour or wheat?
you can buy them from zeki for example, does that mean theres some recipe to make it yourself?
can't make flour yourself, you can only buy it. you can grow wheat on your home plot with seeds. both are used in lots of recipes, it's just that the game doesn't have a separate bread recipe
I play on switch and since the update I can’t make any recipes that include garden ingredients. It doesn’t matter if they’re in my chest or in my backpack. If it’s grown, it shows red. I can use foraged things but basically every recipe needs something. I’ve reset multiple times over the last week and the issue persists. Is this a known bug?
Are your ingredients starred? /gen
If your gardening level is at 25 or higher, pretty much all crops end up being star quality, so make sure to tick the "use star quality ingredients" option. If that's not it then idk, I'm on switch too and I don't have that problem. The only known cooking bug rn is the one where you can't use some ingredients like ginger and green onions

Yeah That was it!!!
What type of fish are most profitable in fish stew?
For the fish/spice person or for the garlic folks?
The fish/spice person
Or in general is rare/epic fish most profitable? Just thinking about for a cooking party 🤔
Here, try this out:
Cooking Party Math
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CqV_SHjfqaYcGcfqg4aVp21tYZACUDNMHYkTo9Wyu-8/edit?gid=284010187#gid=284010187
You can change the fish (and the Any Spice for fish stew) on the Unstarred Any Fish tab, and it will populate to the Starred Any Fish tab also for comparison
Tysm!
Hope they fix the dishes that are broken soon
What's your go to food? Cost and work efficient for both eating and selling (?) Not necessarily one food for both categories
Preferred food to eat heavily depends on your focus level! And as for selling, majority of food is not profitable to cook and sell solo! It's more beneficial to just cook for focus food!
Rn I'm at 700
As for cooking parties I only joined one because I never know when I'll be online to actually be able to join a specific planned party... And also idk how much stuff I'd need to join it fairly
If I'm cooking solo (which I try not to do anymore lol) my preferred dish is steak dinner. It only has 4 ingredients (only one of which is from my garden), the steps flow together well as a solo cook, and it's very efficient in terms of focus per ingredient opportunity cost ("what if I did other things with these ingredients instead of eating them?") and also doesn't sell better than it eats (focus per sell value). XD I also personally find it really fun to both make and eat! It's also really neat to cook with just two people.
Cooking in groups is a little more complicated, because at that point it comes down to what everybody wants to eat (i.e., what parties are available/will get people to join in) and also then what specific ingredient(s) you're bringing.
For some people, saving their unstarred cakes from cake parties - where they might be bringing one (1) sweet leaf for three (3) cakes worth 800-something focus each - may be most efficient for them in terms of time spent and cost of ingredients. Ditto muujin Bahari. Also, how annoying (or fun) each dish is to cook, or how hard it is to get each of the ingredients, will factor in heavily.
For me personally, though, eating foods usually cooked for profit (specifically BECAUSE the dishes sell for a lot — mostly because of how many ingredients go into each one, even if each person is bringing only a small portion) makes the focus per gold eaten waaay too high for me to be comfortable with it. I would rather sell those dishes and use them to buy more ingredients to bring to a different party to get focus food to eat.
...also, I don't like using focus food that fills too much of my bar, because then I have to either wait to eat (to avoid wasting the focus) and risk forgetting entirely, or make the focus per gold eaten ratio even worse 😅 But that's me!
Most cooking parties only want you to bring the ingredients for one particular role/job, enough to do your role for the number of rounds (times cooking the recipe) the party is meant to last for. Some parties will also specify if they want an ingredient (usually vegetables, sometimes also meat, and very rarely forageables) to be starred. So if you sign up for, say, chili oil dumplings, and you sign up for the spicy peppers role (which specifies starred peppers), and the party is "50x" (fifty rounds of doing the recipe in a row), then you would need to bring 50 starred spicy peppers.
As far as foods commonly cooked for profit, see here: #🍳│cooking-foraging message
I personally really enjoy fish stew, lol. It is super fast (30 rounds in 15 minutes), uses up the "bycatch" of fishing for epic fish (i.e., rare fish), and only requires garlic from everyone other than the person currently contributing fish. Garlic can be gathered, but it also can be easily purchased from the general store, so nobody needs to grow (and store) a bunch of starred rice or corn in order to participate.
It also turns out worth about as much as cakes, but you can host a party with as few as two people (splitting the fish). (Of course, the more people who join in with fish, the more profit everyone makes.)
However, it DOES require a lot of chopping, so it can be kind of annoying/inaccessible for people who have a hard time with that minigame (like I did when I was a very new player!)
Oh yeah, and as far as group cooking for focus food... My group of folks really likes spicy crab fried rice. It uses a LOT of ingredients (eight roles, and the starter needs 3 purchased items), including crabs specifically (not that Bahari crabs are hard to find, but, effort), and does also require chopping green onions for one person (challenge mode!)
It is absolutely crucial that you have a full party and that nobody double-role, because the step layers are:
- everybody prepares their single ingredient while the starter throws them all into the pan at top speed
- starter flips the pan
... and that's it. 30 seconds or less per round if you're in a nice efficient group with everyone paying attention. 60x can take as little as half an hour; it's glorious. Only super-efficient cake parties are faster (and 40-60s cakes are much more typical).
It also gives a comparatively large amount of focus in nice round numbers (400/600 starred), which makes the mental math pretty simple. And overprep is easy: either garlic (buyable) or rice (easy stir on the stove).
Buuuut.... it's broken right now, pretty sure. :(
(My personal favorite for group cooking is spicy stir fry, because (a) cheap and (b) 487 focus starred, which is perfect for my own preferences — but it's kind of annoying to cook, tbh.)
Anyway... if you want numbers on solo cooking for focus food (with some other ideas for your consideration depending on your own needs/preferences), here's this: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qPbCKTJg8xYlR1Pw60ZkaXAERRkXaMC0r3UZZKLWQ_g/edit?gid=41849516#gid=41849516

Ohhhh ok thank you so much illl cook other things 🤣
Hey I have 11 recipes I need to make for the Master social Chef achievement would anyone please be willing to help me grind them out real quick? I have the full list typed up and I have some of the recipes and a TON of ingredients just need someone with some help 🫶🏼 would be MUCH appreciated
helo!! i’m only level 8 cooking, but I would love to cook with u if that’s okay! :3
Hey, I'd be happy to help!
Is there a glitch on poke bowl recipe? I literally just got it for 1 coin and got the token too
Not complaining
Yeah, I've seen that reported a few places
Oooo wonder if there’s a glitch on anything else
Ah, don't use Dowsing Rod closer to the evening in Bahari, it highlights all flow trees 🫠🫣
But it was fun in the morning and afternoon, some Dari cloves, a heartdrop lily, and lots of brightshrooms.
I feel like flow trees are either the grove (obvious cluster at midnight in a relatively short list of locations) or the random-spawn ones (show up any time people are chopping down a lot of trees, regardless of time of day) — maybe it's ignorance talking, like maybe for all I know there's statistically more people hunting at night for whatever reason? maybe because grove + bug hunting, idk — but I am surprised that there is a consistent difference. Dari cloves do spawn at any time, though; every 30-40 minutes if you stay on the same server, per my community's research.
This time it was really after 9-10 pm, lots of single flow trees appeared for some reason but not too far from each other, also not a typical grove. Wierd stuff
Really depends how many trees ae being cut for the random ones, big mujjin hunts tend to cause more to spawn
Mighta been folks hunting (if they completely wiped out an area) or perhaps a new server (which tend to have a ton of flow trees since all the trees spawn in at once when the server is created) 🤔
But not during the day, right?
Random-spawn flow trees can show up any time a tree spawns in (like when it respawns after being chopped, or when a newly-created server is generating ALL of its trees at once)
Anyone know where can I get apple / blueberries?
You grow them on your plot, I think you can also purchase the seeds but I think you need to be a certain level
Okay, I am trying to find the seed but has been unsuccessful 😅😅
What level are you for cooking?
you'll be sent free blueberry or apple seeds at gardening levels 8, 9 and 10. or get one of these NPCs to level 3 friendship and you'll get seeds through their lvl 3 friendship quest: ||zeki, nai'o or badruu||
Around 5 I think?? Have to check. I have been neglecting the cooking
Ohh that's good
Oh ok, yeah what mogikarp said lol. Keep levelling up you will get there in no time ☺️
(you probably already inferred this, but your cooking level is unrelated to when you get gardening skill level rewards — but leveling your cooking too ain't a bad plan!)

Anyone in need of flow tree? I can gift. Send request. @here
Sooo, I just went to my 1st rare sashimi party...it's such a bigger payout than cakes, holy smokes!
Woooow how many rounds was that?
Was originally supposed to be 100, but after we did those, took a 10 minutes break and did another 60 or so because people still had rare fish I wasn't counting but around that amount
Also that 476g sashimi in your bag was not from a rare fish; that was a top-tier epic, lol
And I missed maybe 5 cause typing
(probably an unstarred one, which is a decent use for those)
Oh yeah, a couple ancient fish slipped in by mistake cause someone had been fishing beforehand and they hadn't emptied their pockets
Oh, whoops, that's probably what that was, then XD
They were fine with it lol
With the best rare glow worm fish (cloudfish, blue spotted rays), the resulting sashimi is 185g, 277g starred; so, about comparable to cakes. It's just also very, very fast, and fewer opportunities for mistakes.
Just gotta stock up on that rice 😂
Oh there's better than 277g starred. No clue what fish that was
another top-tier epic fish :)
or 10 of them, if that's a full stack, my goodness
I have almost 5 stack of those (4 of 30 and 1 of 27)
And I'm guessing those are the same fish but non starred, got 4 stacks of thise
Yeah, that's the unstarred result. (You can still get starred sashimi from unstarred fish and vice versa, of course; the odds are just different)
I'm struggling to word this but if you use an unstarred giant goldfish and the sashimi turns out starred, and if you use a starred giant goldfish and the sashimi turns out starred, the dish sell values will be identical.
(It's because the formula that calculates dish sell value uses the unstarred value of the ingredient to find the base (unstarred) dish sell value, and then if it turns out starred, the starred dish sell value is just +50% of the base value)
Oh, interesting
This is why cooking with a mix of starred and unstarred meat, for example, doesn't result in stacking problems
lol
@tame jay
thank you 😦
Is cream of mushroom soup glitched or working? Don’t wanna waste my ingredients
It's not one of the recipes affected by the green onion/ginger/bok choy/napa bug, but I haven't tried to make it since the patch, so I can't confirm that there isn't something else wrong - have you heard of another problem with it?

Do we know when this will be fixed?
no they have not addressed it yet but my guess is the next big patch
I have a question about making macaroons for this quest I have. It says I need a mixing station to make like ground sweet leaf, but I already that station. Is is saying I need to craft a second one?
You need two mixing stations for that recipe! Eventually you will need two of every station to be able to make all of the recipes!
@marsh drum thank you so much! That's what I figured, but I didn't want to craft a second one until I knew for sure 🙂
of course ! happy to help :)
Okay so surely they have fixed the simple code error with the ingredients now yes???
We are unaware of what the issue is, but no it is still bugged.
I’m having trouble with the timing for petit fives, I’m on switch and it’s not great. Would anyone be able to help me?
Sure! Give me just a moment to grab a drink and I'll hop on :) My IGN is Eliot Reinald

Hello everyone I don’t know if this is the right place to ask but for the cake parties do you need to know the recipe to join on them again sorry if this is the wrong place to ask.
Only the person starting the recipe needs to know the recipe; everyone else just needs to bring the ingredient(s) their role(s) require, which for some roles can be zero ingredients (oven and spread)
Oh okay thanks
What is the fastest way to level foraging?
Technically speaking? Grinding tree-chopping and then taking down the flow trees as soon as they come up (obviously focusing on sizes of trees you can chop solo if they come up as a flow tree) is "the fastest" in terms of renewable XP/hour.
However, grinding tree-chopping is (a) very boring for most people (b) doesn't help you much with other things, at the volume of trees you would wind up mowing down if that's all you did, so what I usually recommend is:
(0) Make sure you keep your focus up and upgrade your focus bonus at the Phoenix Shrine in NW Kilima (which helps speed up leveling all skills)
- chop whatever trees you need for making furniture, plus, when you go hunting, make sure you loot the wood from chasing muujin out of trees. (You don't get XP from chopped trees unless you loot them.)
- attend midnight groves in Bahari, go help with random flow trees in Kilima and Bahari, and if you can find any home flow tree chops, go to those, too.
- and more than that, pick EVERYTHING while you are out doing other stuff. If it can be foraged, forage it. Use what you can (cooking parties, furniture, ammo/consumables crafting, plus the glow worm farm to eat the 11g and 15g items) and then give away or sell the excess. Dowsing rods can help you locate ALL the rare/epic forageables and flow trees, too.
And that is why my new technique to level foraging is hunting ancient amber beetles in south Bahari, specifically in the field in front of the lighthouse. I use a smoke candle and chop away. That way I level foraging, I level bug hunting, I get a bunch of silk threads and waaaay too many sapwood logs to know what to do with and I can make good money in 20 minutes or so by selling all the wood and beetles. It's obviously not the best money making technique but that way I level 2 skills, the money's really just a bonus lol. And I did see some flow trees pop up while I was going in circles chopping in that area last time but they were too big for me alone 😔
#🐞│hunting-insects message
Nice thinking, I hadn't considered that specifically! And if you bring a hunting enthusiast (or a couple) along with you to shoot the muujin that pop out, you get the loot for THAT too without ever drawing your bow \o/ (and they can help with the flow trees XD)
Yes! Also being in a party boosts xp right? So just a party of people doing this getting wood, threads, muujin/chaapa loot and beetles is definetely ideal
Sadly, the party buff does not boost XP whatsoever, it just gives a chance for extra loot. If you earn XP while in a party it counts toward those growable furniture if you don't have them yet, but you don't gain any extra.
Oooh, right, right
However, you do get credit for a lot of the stuff your party members do, so it does mean you can get more XP-granting activity for the same amount of time/effort
Like your hunting buddy gets to loot all the bugs, too, even if they never get out a bug bomb
So, they get to benefit from your bug catching XP, you benefit from their hunting XP, and of course the foraging XP
Yeah! Win all around
I like to go around the bahari Bay beaches and collect shells
Shells, oysters, coral, and dragon's beard peat are all foraging XP \o/ And as a bonus, coral is what's needed (plus ceramic and flint) to craft a dowsing rod.
Hey question re parties: if I go to a cake party, for example, and I signed up for let's say, the oven station, what am I supposed to bring with me? Do you bring what is needed for that specific step only? Or all the ingredients for the recipe? thx ❤️
You bring what is needed for the role(s) you signed up for, and other people handle their own roles, so it all comes together \o/ For oven (and spread), there aren't any ingredients you'll need to add. Your job is just to put the batter in the oven as soon as it's ready, wait 10 seconds, then pull out the cake layer as soon as it's done :)
(if you leave it in too long, it will burn, which will require another sweet leaf and batter to re-make it, so it's an important role!)
cool thank you
Is cooking still broken? I just ruine a recepie that neede ginger because i couldn't figure out how to process it even though i have more then enough for the recepie

It's made in a preserves jar, same as other pickled vegetables. You can use either bok choy or napa cabbage to make it.
OHHH Ima be honest i don't even really know what it is IRL. I thought it was a drink lol
Hah! It's Korean pickled (fermented) vegetables, generally a bit spicy. Napa cabbage is the most well-known type, but there are multiple.
That doesn't sound apptizing lol
I'm sure there are plenty of foods in your native cuisine that people from other cultures wouldn't like the sound of
I mean that's a pretty fair point

scroll up a wee bit
Thank you
does anyone have the sashimi and fish stew recipe and want to cook them together? i need starred and unstarred
Starred auto counts for unstarred achivements though
ah right forgot that’s a thing lol
I am having the biggest “what the heck”
I got Reth’s quest “your order is served”
I can’t get fruit… I don’t meet the requirements.
Is there anything I can do…?
Cook with someone that has fruits and knows the recipe
You can do that?! 😱
Sorry I’ve only been playing this game since like mid November.
yes if someone else has the recipes they can start it and you can just help out in the cooking process and everyone who helped will get the food. you can usually ask in here or in server chat in game if anyone is willing to help out! i’d be down to help you out but i won’t be available for a couple of hours
For that quest, if you are on the quest you automatically have the recipe, so the other person doesn't necessarily have to have it
(but if they have fruit, they probably do)
People also periodically cook petit fives as focus food, so you might check PaliaParty.app or #1143270926394335282 for any upcoming ones - and then you can keep some of the unstarred ones to give out to others :)
(If you have a recipe you can also, iirc, request the food itself)
I did request for it. I was able to get one!
Then I realized.. I need 3!!!!
😳😭
Hopefully I can find someone to help out!
I am also at work right now. So I won’t be able to for a couple hours.
I would GREATLY appreciate it though! (If I don’t find a way in mean time LOL)
Yeah, I mentionned the other person needing to know the recipe cause fruits are often starter
what is the best receipt to get focus but not using many ingredients
Steak dinner only has four! any meat, wheat, butter, spice sprouts. It's one of the most efficient in terms of focus per ingredient cost and focus per gold eaten, if you're cooking solo. Group cooking offers MANY more options, though, since you generally only are responsible for one ingredient at a cooking party.
iirc the only fruit-requiring recipe I know of that requires fruit to start is, hilariously, celebration cakes XD

Can anyone help with the petit five? I have everything expect fruit
Hi! I’m curious about the petit fives recipe… when I get to the bit where I have to cook the berry drizzle on the stove, it isn’t registering my input properly? When I hit it in the circle it just resets the spin. But if I don’t click I fail. Can’t get it to work at all and am wondering if
A) I’m misunderstanding how to do it
B) I’m just real badddd at it lol, or
C) it may be bugged?
The same thing happened when I was trying to use the stove for a steak recipe so I think maybe it’s just user error 😅
the answer is A
/lh
you need to hold down and let go when its in the circle!
What's a good focus food? I got 850 now, I mostly cook alone, maybe with one other friend
i would recommend steak dinner or tomato soup!
Thank you very much

can we cook at all??? i cant seem to be able to even start, the F for me is gray
Make sure you don't have a finished dish (or ruined food) still on a station one one of your plots! If that isn't the case, a restart should fix it.
you're amazing, i in fact did have a ruined dish
It's caught a few folks in my friend group (myself included) where we were going to start a cooking party on somebody's cooking plot, and, wtf, none of us can interact?? Turns out there was [the last dish from a previous party / ruined food] somewhere else XD

how do yall increase ur cooking level? i feel like its so slow like im level 8 on most but cooking is 4
stocking up on focus food was how i personally leveled up! others like to do big cooking parties and level up that way !
Cake parties are especially nyoom
340 base XP (before focus bonus) per round, and a round is between 30s and a minute, depending how efficient the partygoers are (but solo/very small group cakes are slower and expensive, do not recommend)
Do make sure you have upgraded your focus bonus (max is 100%) at the Phoenix Shrine in NW Kilima though, and then keep your focus bar up. Upgraded bonus + plenty of focus in your bar = double XP on everything... but then you gotta eat, of course!
Additionally, don't neglect the power of campfire food - if you have fish you are just gonna sell anyway, you can grill them first! Cooking XP AND a chance at bonus gold if unstarred fish become starred grilled fish :) (and unlike most kitchen recipes, no loss if unstarred)
Setting up 4 campfires and rotating in a circle can make for 1 grilled fish (= 20 base XP) every 5 seconds. Just make sure you lockbox any fish you don't want to accidentally cook.
hello! how do i get the ground sweet leaf recipe?
it's not an individual recipe, its apart of other recipes and you automatically get it if you have a recipe that needs it
or do i just need 2 mixing stations?
yeah all recipes eventually require two of each station!
ooo okay, thanks!
Yes, the station you start a recipe on can't be used for prep steps, because it's "holding" the starter ingredients :)
thanks!
What's everyone's favorite recipes?
(For focus, ease of ingredients, or just think it's tasty!)
I really like the chili dumplings and Phoenixfire relleno, they just sound so tasty and they're pretty easy for me to get the ingredients!
Cake party cakes star and unstarred is my food …
Starred Chili Oil Dumplings are still my favorite go to focus food, 525 focus each.
They are quick, easy and cheap to make. I only have to buy the oil, the rest of the items I hunt, grow, or forage for
i love pan fried dumplings and mujin bahari!!
mostly for leveling reasons, since i normally cook in parties lol
My favorite for ease is Steak Dinner! 4 ingredients (and only one from the garden), cheap/easy enough to cook solo, absolutely FUN to cook with 2 people, and (incidentally) the perfect fit for cake parties: starred steak dinner is 337 focus, and 1 round of Celebration Cake consumes 340 focus at 100% focus bonus. I like being able to eat once per round and not have to remember to check/risk bloopclunking and losing bonus XP. It's also reasonable focus food for newer players since you don't have to have your focus bar upgraded too far to make use of it.
Other favorites: pan fried dumplings and stuffed cabbage rolls, with current substitutes meaty stir fry and cream of tomato soup (basically the same workflow as steak dinner, with one extra chop step, so it needs 1 more person). As a bonus, the pan fried dumplings & meaty stir fry are near-exact fits for focus food for muujin Bahari parties. :)
I'm coming around on phoenixfire relleno, even though I don't actually like chiles. Other than needing a silly 2 spicy peppers per dish, it's simple to make with a group.
(Spicy stir fry is also very inexpensive as well as being the highest focus I find acceptable (487 starred), but I find it annoying to cook, and the only other similar option is shepp's pie, which is WILDLY expensive — potatoes AND corn, both cash crops — and also has an incredibly long workflow, even with a totally full one-person-per-role party.)
Hi all! i'm hoping some more can join us for the party! There are only 4 of us right now
Try #1143270926394335282 and #💬│lfg-chat as well, if you haven't already :D
Thanks!

Where can I find the last recipe for Palia Chef: Cooking by the Book?
Hard to say cause we don't know which recipes you're missing
hello, am i should craft two each for the (stove, baker, prep station, mixing station) then i can make the cooking?
2 of each should be enough I think. Pretty sure that's what I have rn and I haven't encountered a problem yet
yes! to be able to make every recipe you will need 2 of each station
If you haven't found this yet, you can either share a screenshot of your accomplishment showing the missing item, or check
https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Palia_Chef:_Cooking_by_the_Book
or
https://www.paliatracker.com/recipes
There was a change to the order of the recipes in the accomplishment recently, so we can't necessarily guess which one you are missing without seeing it
Newbie questions about cooking parties:
-
Do I need to know the recipe to attend?
-
Do they provide good exp?
-
Do I need to bring anything? Ingredients?
You don't need to know the recipe unless you're the one "starting" it, they do indeed provide great XP especially if you're eating focus foods as you're getting full food xp for only doing & contributing one steps worth of ingredients- sometimes if you're luck you can snag a "free role" that doesn't require anything besides yourself (in the context of a cake party those would be bakers [oven] and spreaders [mixing table]), and you don't have to bring the stuff (it takes the items from your personal storage when cooking at someone else's plot) however some tasks the host might ask you to either lock an item to prevent you from accidentally making someone elses step or put the required item in your pockets so it auto selects those- again in the context of a cake party this might look like "fruit frosters please lock your blueberries or put your starred apples in your pockets" so you don't mistakenly select blueberries for the fosting and thus decreasing the quality/sell value/profit margin on the cake you made.
That is amazing information, thank you!
Thanks for the correction! Been a while since I've attended a cake party as you can tell
Is cooking still borkedd? I have some achieves i want to finish lol

argh lol
Yep haha hopefully there’s a fix coming on the 17th
Maybe Tuesday...
why cant i chop the green onions anywhere
ah... ty ty
I'm fighting for my life trying to find either apples or blueberries
lv ur gardening if its not even lv10 yet
Besides leveling your gardening skills, you can also get Zeki or Naio to level 3 for apple seeds, Badruu level 3 for blueberry seeds, or find the chapaa rummage piles every day for a chance at an apple, then request the rest you need!
Thank you!!!
Blueberries also drop from the rummage pile :D
If you just need them for petit fives for the quest, may be faster to cook together with someone who already has fruit - they can handle the fruit step

these are all the recipes I have. The last one I dont have looks like there might be fish in it?
It's either boulliabase or fish stew- fish stew is a recipe you have to catch on the bahari coast with worms outside of the bubble spots so if you don't recall having done that it's likely the fish stew recipe!
ahh okay thanks!
It's bouillabaisse
how do I get that one?
I don't remember, but you're welcome to add me and come over to cook it
by completing the freshwater bundle https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Bouillabaisse
Rummage piles! It was driving me insane trying to befriend Zeki or Badruu and I was grinding my gardening skill, and then one random day i found a pile, in it a blueberry. Requested a few more, got seeds, finished the petit fives
Couldn't hurt to try! but oh boy, that's a lot of RNG. I love getting unstarred fruit and peppers from the rummage pile, since you can't buy them and they are unobtainable past level 40 gardening or so, but I definitely don't get them as often as I'd like, even with checking both piles daily and not having any more quest items or recipes in the loot table. (There's about 30 different things you can get out of the pile not counting quests and recipes, and I'm pretty sure they're weighted so some items are found more often than others.)
(And why would I want unstarred ones when I've got oodles of star quality ones from my garden? Because they save recipes: sometimes accidents happen, and the "use starred ingredients" box doesn't get checked, restricting everyone to unstarred items XD and then that unstarred fruit saves the day. Plus, can't fill requests with starred stuff.)
Hello, I'm facing issues with 2 things:
- I'm trying to make stuff cabbage rolls for Tish for a quest and every time I'm stuck in the chopping part of cutting green onions which are their in inventory but no showing up, which is ending up ruining the dish.
- I tried making another thing which includes flipping motion and I'm trying to do that, the circle is moving but when I'm trying to stop it at the two circles where it's supposed to stop that's not happening.
Can someone guide how to fix these.
Thanks
!cookingbug for your first issue

For the second, you hold and then let go when the circles align
I guess I'll have to live with soup for now. Those are most of the recipes that are in my reach at the moment. What a terrible bug.
Do I have to be a certain level of cooking to read the Creamy Carrot Soup recipe in the library? I already did the "Manners" quest earlier.
I don't recall getting a "Library Card", though. I will try and give Caleri a daily gift. I already gave the weekly yesterday.
what cooking level are you? and what's your focus level?
@marsh drum Cooking level: 2; Focus level: 450 / .3%
Where can I get the cream of mushroom soup recipe?
I would recommend just keep making vegetable soup and grilled meat until level level 4 and then switch to steak dinner ! the first few levels go up quite quickly
Okay, thank you for the suggestion, @marsh drum
It's in Hekla's Tent!
That's literally my problem right now lol. I just found both piles and all I got was quest items.
Yes, it might take you a month or more of daily rummage piles before you ever see fruit from them. Zeki's daily free Lucky Coin is also worth doing because it can also give you a free apple or blueberry seed, but same deal: very heavy RNG, and the fruit anything is rare.
Just keep up with your gardening and you'll get a free blueberry seed at levels 8 and 9, and an apple seed at gardening level 10 :)
And hey, also do the RNG and the relationships, and maybe one of those will beat your gardening levels to the punch, and wouldn't that be lucky? :D
@marsh drum What do you suggest after the steak dinners?
i suggest steak dinners and tomato soup for a while until you reach over 800 focus!
You get tomato soup from ||Reth friendship 3|| so it might not be available for a bit. Meaty stir fry is also good, though, same focus as pan fried dumplings.
oh thats why i got it so early
Where do I get anchovy oil?
Did you mean Oily Anchovy, the fish?
Oh yes!
Those are caught from Bahari Rivers (including the water in Flooded Fortress) any time using regular worms
Thank you so much! I remember I had caught one before but I sold it and I need one for a quest!
is the bug fixed where bok choy doesnt show up in cooking ??
Not yet. Maybe tomorrow
Anyone want to cook 2 dishes with me for the pot luck weekly? I can’t find anyone in any servers who want to lmao
Ooooh ok thats why. I thought I'm the problem.🥲
I’m down if you haven’t found anyone! I’ll be putting my baby to bed soon and then I can.
I thought it was only for me! I can’t cook green onions as well. Only meaty stuff
So yes it’s fixed once you download patch?

YAYYY
No idea, is it related to cooking? If not, try #🦋│issues-discussions or perhaps a general search in the Discord for the quest name?
I always thought looting flow wood was more xp than looting regular wood? This new xp display has just informed me I am collecting the same xp from a med size flow tree as I did a med sized normal pine tree...
Yep, just cut the exact same type and size of tree, one normal and one flow and got the exact same amount of xp (44). I have been foraging like crazy because I want medals for heaps of the guild items and have been going out of my way for flow trees thinking it was more xp, I have so much flow wood that I don't need flow trees for anything else... absolutely won't be going out of my way anymore if it's not extra xp.
should be like this so yep
i miss the exploit of trees being put away-able during fall down animation when on home plot
I leveled up like 30 times
I got the same xp for a large normal tree as I did a large flow tree, when there should be a little extra according to that table. I thought it was more for all but that's on me, weird it was only for the large that you would get extra. It's definitely not the case atm unless the display is incorrect.
could very easily be labeled incorrectly in game since its new /gen
It's possible it's bugged in some form because so is half of the game
Farming for example has a lot of things bugged for a long time to the point people still believe it's working as intended because it's "always been that way"
Yeah, this is possible, especially as there was a time when the game was bugged so that sometimes you wouldn't get any xp for some of the loot you should be getting xp for
tbh, I gave up on trying to understand farming xp 😅 I so desperately want more guild items but feel like I can't actively do anything to get there quicker, I just concentrate on weekly challenges and farm as much rice and carrot as I can because they grow quicker and have a few spots for apples and blueberries and hope for the best.
farming has been inconsistent and busted since the beginning but that's a whole nother can of worms lol
yes guild stores need more i them esp the furniture store
It's a shame I don't like anything from the hunting and mining guilds because I have soooo many medals for them, farming and foraging for heaps of those guild items annoys me 😅
Gardening XP is 4 XP per tile per growth tick divided by number of harvests :)
So a potato gives 4 XP * 1 tile * 5 growth ticks = 20 base XP
- if working as intended
That's probably the best explanation I have ever seen haha thank you!
Yeah there was a carrot bug apparently lol
So issues have seen some of the xp not accounting for, say, the amount of growth ticks a crop has or how many tiles you applied it to, for instance?
Of course there was 😅
I just finished a 200 flow tree chop, and got the following numbers with 100% focus bonus:
44, 48 (mostly)
52, 56 (occasionally)
60, 64 (once or twice each in all 200)
Previously it was very consistently 60 XP per large flow tree (consumed 30 focus each @ 100% focus bonus)
soooo I think there's some fun RNG happening now
Seems more likely that the display is a little bugged perhaps? I will take it with a grain of salt.
tracked with the amount of focus consumed, so I'm really not sure
Ah, more of an RNG type situation. That's fun...
running around chopping large sapwood trees in Kilima, so far only 44 and 48 (with 100% focus bonus)
So now I'm wondering if the larger amounts were related to flow wood or to parties/group chopping 🤔
does anyone need help with cooking?
I'm such a data orientated person but also like... I'm just feeling very apathetic atm and don't know if I can be bothered trying to understand the mechanics, ya know? I guess it isn't that big of a deal but I just really want some of the guild items and want to be the most efficient at getting them.
I am data oriented and VERY fascinated, so I will report back when I have more info :)
Out here doin the lords work hehe appreciate you!
So is the cooking bug with green onions and bok choy and stuff fixed now?
Yep!
Nice!
Says I am missing a mixing station? I have one though, do I need 2?
Yep, one for the recipe to sit at, and one for the actual mixing of ingredients
You will need 2 of every station in the end
Some recipes require more than 1 crafting station (stove, mixing, prep, oven)
I hate it here guys
Either something changed or I had some kind of weird anomaly going on before, because when I tried to test this again, large trees anywhere of any type always give 48, in party or not...
Flow trees still vary, though.
I hate inconsistency 😅
I swear food is still glitched:/
what are you having issue with?
Yo, can someone help me with this one ? Why can't i make it ? Thank you
anyone down to go flow-infused tree chopping with me
Is it still occuring after you exit and go back in?
you need a second mixing station
Does it ghost like that in the menu if you don't have a second mixing station?
yeah, i was stuck on this exact thing for like an hour yesterday lmao
interesting, I never knew that, thanks for sharing!
it'll tell you which station you need, for other dishes you sometimes need two ovens because for some reason you cant use the stove and oven at the same time
Yeah I have always had the extra kitchen items so never knew it looked like that when you didn't have them, thought it would still show in the side menu properly and just alert you to the issue in the main screen once you click on it, looks bugged, not very clear with just the icon there
yeah, if you click on the red mixing bowl under additional stations it'll tell you what one you need, but it seems bugged since it doesn't say that you need more than one. it should say like "1/2 mixing stations" or something
On needing two of everythin: Stoves I can see ias some need Rice and meat. The mixing and prep station could be solved by adding a third table just to start the recipe then you go to either the prep or mixing table as needed. Same with the oven. Call one table the prep table, then the chopping table, the mixing table. Then you have one oven and two stoves
thank you 🖤
sniffs
I missed these guys. I dont have time to do cabbage rolls today tho
Someone on the hunt to chop down flow trees with me?
I wasn't sure if this question was best sutied for the fishing channel or cooking since it kinda relates to both but when attempting to fish up the Fish Stew Recipe does it matter if I use or don't use any kind of bait?
Just as long as I'm fishing off the coast in Bahari Bay?
Bahari coast, worms only, and don't fish within the bubble spots.
these epic poke bowl parties are so worth it
if only we stopped needing so much moneys
I wish I could buy outfits with this money
theres already never enough coins 😮 and then theyc ant make any real moneys

yeay thats like 1million coins aswell XD
gj anthea keep that up
I need to get my cooking level up 4 levels what’s the easiest way to do that I don’t have to many ingredients for most of them so Im not sure what I should stalk up on to do so
Ohh ok thank you!
To the very best of my knowledge, being in a party does not affect XP in any way, unfortunately. However, making sure you have enough focus in your bar to always get the full bonus AND upgrading your focus bonus at the Phoenix Shrine will both help you.
Is anyone else experiencing a lack of Heat Root spawning? I haven't seen any at all.

Is that a cooking party thing @opaque harbor ?
Yeah, I'll help out with any recipes you miss
Hi, I need to cook Rice Cake Stir Fry for Auni's requests but can't seem to be able to cook the recipe despite having all the ingredient. Is it another buggy recipe ?
Do you have two stoves? That's required.
@opaque harbor I have a lot of ingredients and need the achievements (also looking for displays because I'm doing a museum type thing)
Oh that's why thank you !
I can help!
can i send dm since in-game chat is bugged?
sure thing
@young aspen I saw your message in the palia party chat. I am indeed wanting to cook more! feel free to DM me if you would like!
what is the best recipe to spam if you need to level up cooking quickly and you have all the recipes except the ones you can only get during lunar new year? specifically, which recipe is the least annoying to cook over and over again but still gives a reasonable amount of xp?
I would recommend steak dinner or tomato soup because they're both good as focus foods, cost efficient, and not a lot of steps!
thanks! thats excactly the kind of response I was looking for
like yes, I know that cakes give a lot of xp but they are annoying to cook by yourself over and over and over and over
theyre definitely not worth it to cook alone either!
cake partys 😄 if ur a solo cook no idea
I feel like i am losing recepies. Acording to my achievements ihave cooked "Fish Stew" before but i seem to be missing the recepie now..

Ok, ty i will try this
oh yeay recipes outside bubbles only
sent you DM 🙏
How have I played this much and never realised the xp was doubled in a party?!
Oh okay, disregard my comment above hahaha thanks for adding this
I previously never bothered with a dowsing rod before but tried one out recently and boy, does heatroot spawn in some crazy places I never realised before! I couldn't believe the amount I was getting that I wouldn't ordinarily find. So it really depends on the servers RNG in where it spawns, you may find overall you tend to get them when they spawn in more obvious places and have no just had a run of the RNG spawning them in the less obvious places, perhaps?
Is there are chance you cooked it with someone else who had the recipe?
In addition to steak dinner, which isn't too bad to cook solo (but even nicer with a friend, as long as you split up the steps right) —
If you fish a lot, I recommend setting up a handful of campfires (I use 4 in a circle) and grilling any fish you plan to immediately sell.
Sure, campfire foods are only 20 base XP, but 20 XP plus your focus bonus every 5 seconds is VERY fast. For comparison, steak dinner, which takes about 30-40 seconds per round with two people who are very fast at what they're doing, grants 120 base XP. (Obviously, if you're cooking solo, it will take longer than that.)
So, grilled fish is about the same as steak dinner as a duo, and it's also basically free bonus gold if you come out with any starred grilled fish.
I don't recommend that you do one to the exclusion of the other, but grilled fish is a nice XP supplement if you do a lot of fishing, especially once you have enough focus food from steak dinner/tomato soup to keep you fed for a good while. :)
(Just be careful to lockbox any fish you plan to keep, because it's very easy to accidentally cook them...)
And then, if you'd like some variety, try out pan fried dumplings and stuffed cabbage rolls. XD
What's the best way to get recipes esp when you're starting out?
I started playing two days ago and I'm kinda lost haha
Here's a list of the dishes and how they can be obtained
https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Dishes
Just keep cooking meat and other foods on the campfire for now! It's really quick way to naturally level up your cooking skills to unlock more recipes and it gives you a good supply of focus food! As well there are recipes that can be found around the village, and in villager's rooms! But the recipes in villager's rooms will definitely take you a bit longer as those unlock at level 3 friendship :)
Some are unlocked through found item quests, some are fished up, and some are just sitting around in books. (Read allll the books, lol)
Some you can buy elsewhere, like at the Maji Market or from the Tavern cash register.... see the list Nostalgia posted for all the details :)
Ohhh thank you!
Thanks!
Definitely reading all the books haha
