Ha! I did this exact thing a while back. It meshes nicely in between the two columns of the courtyard and I have drinks and the ice cream bucket thing on it.

Try putting a wall piece right inside the bounds on the very edge, with only half behind the shipping bin, and connect a floor piece to that at the very bottom. Its the only way I could get it to work for me.
It also may help to first hover it over the top, and slide it down to the bottom

I found a method on YouTube for sinking many things at one time, the only downside is there will be a block to hide or turn into something nearby.
But it made doing my lake so much easier.

im not sinking the tables but thank you tho 🙂 the autumn landscape messes up how my stone blocks get laid out for some reason. getting the blocks just right is my biggest issue. tables go in great its the stupid blocks lol

Shipping bin is such a good first project in my opinion, I started with it too I think.
It gets you used to the glitches and trouble shooting them. And it's also just very satisfying building out of bounds

What MeiWoy said. If you want them up on top of the blocks you have to flick them, but then they will only be on the X-Y axis, not turned diagonally the way you have them in your first picture.

Fewer pieces towards the item limit, too! The floor is attached to a single block in the corner (if I remember correctly), and it's slightly bigger than the courtyard. So I built it first, cancel-placed it away, and then placed the courtyard. So the floor clips into the walls with no space at the edge. And then I raised the tables up a little so they would be flush with the floor at the edges.

Did you remove the courtyard? It was a lot of trial and error for me to figure out where to put it, but I'm pretty sure the block is not all the way into the corner. I'll log on and check exactly what I did. I built it a while ago.

Yeah, it can't be touching! This is how mine is underneath, and a few pictures of the edges so you can see how it looks seamless around the perimeter (also in case this helps someone else!).

Yeah they are called red when placed down, though when picked up it is red again. Same with the purple. If you place the purple, the name says it's pink.

I probably should have floated them, but I didn't know how back then. So there are a few builder's floors on the ground, and then each table is on a butcher block, because one floor was not enough, and I think two was too many. Silly extra use of items, but I didn't know at the time and I can't be bothered to go back and fix it now.

I placed the floor and the butcher blocks and the tables all individually (using the gourmet bowl on the tables). But you have to have the tables on the floor of the courtyard not on the builders floors when you do the alt select with the bowl.

These are attached to the pillars themselves more than likely. If they won't attach to a pillar on it's own, it can either be flicked on, or you can make a "wall" of them placed side by side and it will let you place it. May take quite a few to simulate the size of an actual wall piece before they will attach. Depends on the item

Yeah, the larger the item you want to place, the bigger the pillr wall needs to be. It took quite a bit to attach a wheel to one for me

I built this floor and I put on top all my crafters (heavy sawmills, glass furnace, heavy smelter...) and a worktable and a chest. I swapped plots to go get some things and when i came back to this plot was like this, empty. The crafters are nowhere to be found neither the materials that were inside processing. Is this because i can't put crafters on top of this builders floor or?

Anchorless sinking and floating, or floating with the 1 cup method. It's a pretty advanced technique tho, in the sense that there are a lot of rules to learn. Once u get the hang of it tho, it's super easy.

They are at the front of ur plot. If u were switching between plots before leaving it may take leaving ur plot thru the exit and coming back a few times before they pop up, or switching to the other plot bc they may be there

This happens bc crafters/chests/etc. cannot be set on these off the ground. They need to be anchored to something that is sitting on the grass

If any of this doesn't make sense (to you or anyone reading this) please let me know and Ill do my best to further explain!
But these are most of the glitches I use on my plot

This glitch works for more than just wall paper, I also use it to put out door items inside but some notes for that,
1, i figure out where I need to stand by holding the outdoor item and looking down at my feet. Where youre standing will be about the center of the item.
2, you only want to move into the red zone by one of the little squares into your body
3, I click the hotkey of another decor item while clicking place with my mouse 3 times really fast, amd then cancel by clicking Ctrl on the keyboard to drop anything I may of picked up on accident (this increases my chances of it working by a lot)

This glitch allows you to sink multiple items at one time, this made my lake easier and has a lot of potential for other uses:

This one is my favorite and most used, the cancelation glitch. This opens so many doors,
One thing they don't mention is that whatever item youre cancel glitching away, is that it must be outlined with green when you hit the hot key for another decor item, otherwise it's sent to its original location and you have to try again
But this is great for merging/overlapping items, or even just getting something out of your way to work on something else without having to place it again:

This is the alt select glitch, it doesn't have to be done with a pillar like shown, it can be done with a lot of things I use gourmet soup bowls or a cup.
This is good for overlapping items, or putting shelves/wall planters on the ground, or on top of eachother like shown for stairs:

This looks like reclaimed wood flooring flicked on the wall, but I may be off.

These are either floated on red presents, or flicked onto builder's pieces, and then they built the floor around it with the square stones pavers and a border of stone pillars. From what I can tell, they aren't very far off the ground. Maybe 1 small square or so.

Though with the grass poking thru it's kind of hard to tell if it's actually off the ground, but I would say it is just bc of how the soil sits above the pillar

One way to build out of bounds is to put builders floors on top of the yardwork pieces and a block at the end, alt select the block and as long as it's in bounds you can put the yardwork pieces out there and then freely build on top of them to hide anything!!

weeell, kinda bc terraces are so big i just do them with different set ups for occasions but this im using now, i just cancel up and down the pillars to keep it in line

There's no way to truly connect them but there are... ways to have something similar.
You can leave a (double) door in between with 2 people (I think)
Not sure if the cutting tool can be used to remove walls in that situation
And there's a more complex way that requires 2 people and a lot of available space and rooms to work

But I also never go to bed at night until I've topped off any autonomous machines on short supplies (rocks... etc.)

What if... you joined both homes through hallways and a Courtyard? The courtyard must be added onto a structure, so you could segment it into maybe a greenhouse or something in the middle as a transaction.
